The discontinuation of the Viper Convertible Roadster was one of the factors that led to the poor sales that killed the car. A prototype was built ,(as was a Challenger Convertible Concept), but neither went into production. Who ever heard of a Sports Car that's NOT available as a convertible ?
You know what the problem was? it costed over 100K Bucks and thats also untypical for the Dodge Viper and there, ther other Cars with the same Performance and also having Luxury and it was too Expensive for Viper Fans and Viper Fans are more Loyal to that Car, The Other Problem was the Engine Problem it had. i mean with that Money i could also buy an Porsche. But i guess the Voper will comeback sooner or later and i live nad i like Germany Cars too but the Dodge Viper is my all time Favourite. Both the Dodge Viper and Chevrolet Corvette proofed that Americans can also make Super Cars like the Europeans but also making it Cheap and less Luxury
Lots torque / power down low means you can have an insanely long 6th gear, keeping the revs very low at crusing speeds. The C6 Z06 with its 7 litre LS7 V8 can get 29+ U.S MPG also :)

The change to this body style absolutely destroyed the Viper, at least in my eyes... This thing looks like a totally generic, European ish turd that maybe 65-80yr olds would buy to toodle around in.
I think the 03-10 Vipers look way better than the originals, but that's probably because I grew up around the time the 03 Viper was introduced and improved on over its years on sale...
