  • On Tuesday, April 9, Belmont University took over the Grand Ole Opry for a night of incredible music and celebration! This special event marked the grand finale of Belmont’s pioneering Music Business program's 50th anniversary and showcased some of our most accomplished alumni, including Trisha Yearwood, Tyler Hubbard, and Hailey Whitters.
The evening also featured a star-studded songwriters' round with:
Ashley Gorley - Writer of over 60 No. 1 songs
Hillary Lindsey - Grammy Award winner and soon-to-be Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee
Nicolle Galyon - NSAI and ACM award-winning songwriter
"Our Music Business program has a rich history that began as a partnership between Belmont and Music Row," said Brittany Schaffer, Dean of the Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business. "We were thrilled to honor this legacy on country music’s most famous stage."
Since its inception in 1973, Belmont’s Music Business program grew into a powerhouse, producing over 6,000 alumni and expanding into specialized areas like audio engineering, songwriting, and film. This event was a testament to the enduring legacy of Belmont in the music industry.
