- hiiiii so I've gone Monster High g3 crazy and bought almost all the signature line dolls so I figured I'd unbox and do a little review of each of em! Have you guys picked up any? Who's your fav? Are you excited for any of the releases that are coming out?

I love the G3 dolls. I love how much variation in height and body type there is. Draculara and Lagoona are my favorites, but I really love them all.
yasss so here for all the body types! its cool to see a brand really give us variety with head sculpts and bodies.
I was honestly going to skip G3 until I saw Draculaura. I absolutely adore her. I'm taking my time buying them just because of the price. I mean it's not a bad price for what you get and the quality, but I have grown up stuff to pay for so. 🤷🏻♀️ I only have Deuce, Ghoulia, and Draculaura so far. I took Ghoulia with me on my trip to MD this past week because I knew I was going to an arcade and I thought it would be fun to get pictures of her with some video games. I get what you mean by not wanting more than one of the same doll; I don't really want another Deuce but I want that Frankie so I'm gonna break down and buy it. I don't know why people keep insisting Lagoona needs to be blue because of her last name. If you go back to the Great Scarrier Reef movie you'll see Lagoona's little sister Kelpie is purple. Pink Lagoona is hard to get used to but I do like her. At the end of the day the dolls are made for kids. If kids are into bright colors and/or pastels these days then that's what the dolls are going to be. It's also why Ghoulia isn't grey anymore. Mattel discovered kids don't want to play with grey dolls. I'm just glad kids have so many fashion doll choices now. When I was little all there was was Barbie. I would have been so excited for Monster High if they had been around when I was little. My only complaint about the Ghoulia doll is that her hair gets messed up so easily. I'm hoping washing her hair will help with that.
draculaura is definitely top tier, like they did sosososo good with her design. i feel ya, i feel like ive been waiting for these dolls to release for like a year and a half so i went a lil ham buying all the dolls haha. oh wow! those pics ya got must have been so cool! id say frankie is def worth it. theyre one of my favs. i think the whole lagoona cant be any other color than blue thing is dumb. if were gonna be ultra nit picky, does lagoona even live in a lagoon? i like pink so im happy with her. i really like ghoulia green too. i think the new colors are really fun but i wasnt super attached to the older colors. and same! all we had was barbie and like...disney dolls when i was young. the kids have such cool dolls to pick from! i havent noticed my ghoulia having messed up hair but she just chills on my display case so i havent moved her around a ton.
I love G3, Lagoona is one of my favorites, but the way fans attack this REBOOT really makes me want to stay away from that side of the doll fandom.
I really look forward to when I can start collecting them and one day repaint them too.
yea i think people voicing preference over g1 is fine but ive seen so many just....nasty comments about this reboot. its like yall need to chill, just buy the skullector and reproduction dolls if ya hate g3 so much damn.
I also really like G3. It still feels like monster high. I was a huge fan as a kid, and had a ton of dolls. I think I would have also liked G3 as a kid
My only complaint is I wish they had darker makeup!
Sometimes I feel like people’s obsession with G1 is purely nostalgia based, and because of that they won’t give G3 a chance
I think the Frankie, Lagoona and Cleo changes could also be because of the movie depictions and no longer having rights to them due to now working with Nickelodeon and paramount and not Universal?.. like wasn't Lagoona's dad the monster from the Black Lagoon and isn't the black lagoon located in Australia? Universal owns that character depiction from the movie and influences thereof and maybe that's why no more finger webbing too. So I can see changes happening to avoid copyright issues. It feels like the people who are in an outrage about these changes are severely unformed regarding not only copyright and the business behind the pretty things we like but also culture and the importance of certain colours, especially gold, jade and turquoise in Egypt especially to royalty and their mummification. That isn't just made up by Mattel. It's real and existed and is a part of history. I've seen soo many people say MGAs collector doll Cleopatra is copying Cleo.. like don't yall know Cleopatra is a real person that existed and not an mga or Mattel character? It is kind of sad that people don't know this and are just accusing either of copying the other. They're just both drawing inspo from the same source. I like both brands but it makes me sad that I have to hide that with fans who like either or but not both.. it feels like nobody can have respectful disagreements anymore and just be cool with you no matter what you like..
i know with frankie they changed their skin because of a rights thing, i dont know about lagoona or cleo. i feel like with the whole finger webbing thing they just didnt want to make a new hand mold but i could be wrong. i think mattel probably put alot of thought into rebooting these dolls. i think you can really see that because apparently theyve gone through quite a few iterations and thats why they took so long to come out. i havent paid much attention to the new cleopatra lol doll but it is kind of dumb if people are accusing them of copying. i feel like the only doll line i can sort of confidently say is mga copying mattel are those dream ella dolls, especially the new extra ones that have come out. i dont really care though because more dolls for me to collect and paint lol
@@jackyohhhxo this is such a mood.. it's nice to have more options for designing. Whatever beef they have ain't our business. The only time it's kind of a bummer is when something gets discontinued.
I'm pretty sure the wet feeling you're describing on their hair is the waxy layer on saran. You can wash that off though! And then it'll be less clumpy but super soft (as far as I understand)😊Great video! So happy to see them up close and in so much detail. I've also seen people saying their dolls (like Frankie and Lagoona) have some issues with their print rubbing off on their legs, so they've been spraying them with MSC to protect that. Maybe you can do that too☺
ahhh makes sense! thank ya! i havent noticed frankies print rubbing off but my lagoonas seems very prone to rubbing off which kinda sucks. i think im probably gonna end up painting my lagoona so ill def figure out her legs then :)

Cleo is my favorite of the bunch, I’m so tempted to get her but I’m really bummed the G3’s have such heavily molded faces 😢 thank you for the in depth review! ❤️
cleo is so dang pretty! yeaaa, sometimes i dig a heavily molded face for customs and sometimes i dont. i guess ima just see how it goes when i eventually paint these! no problem! thanks for watching!

I really don’t like the new Deuce, he really bothers me 🥲 also the new Ghoulia looks really pretty but her skirt is just BASIC imo and idk it’s kind of dumb :(
Lagoona is so freaking gorgeous I swear
She was really pretty before but she’s pink now and still really pretty and if I was a really small kid (like 7-9) I would take her right away! She’s just so gorgeous :D
And when I see Clawdeen..
She’s so pretty too! I like her new design a lot! Her new personality is dumb to me but her glasses are cute and I like her necklace and pet redesign! Also, just because someone has glasses doesn’t mean they’re a nerd, they need them to see better (depending on if they can’t see far away or if they can’t see close up)
When I was small, I would’ve BEGGED for these if they were around! Really glad they’re here, so far I’m loving G3! (No I haven’t finished the movie yet :’|)
i totally agree! drac cleo and frankie and supa cute. I'm kinda whatever about deuce. like hes cute but as a customizer i just wish he had a normal skin tone instead of the green. i dig ghoulia, i feel like her signature doll was a little bit more basic than the others because her skateboard is a bit of an intense accessory. i really love lagoona and agree, i think id be really drawn to her if i were a kid. oh haha im aware that people need glasses for sight issues lol i wear glasses. i think overall they did a great job with the new line.
Frankie and Duce are Target exclusives and I think Troralie is a Wal-Mart exclusive. I love the new Draculara! I bought the Frankie and Duce two pack because I love that Frankie the best they're so pretty from that set! I love your channel!
i think ghoulia was a target exclusive too. still havent found torelai, so weird that shes been so hard to locate. honestly want the frankie and deuce two pack just for that frankie but ugh, cant really justify it. im glad ya like my channel!
I'm a new collector - couldn't really get the dolls as a kid but I'm glad I'm starting on G3. They're so cute to me

Not a huge fan of G3. My girls have a crap ton of G1, I was going to get them a few "new" ones....but Mattel, you struck out.
They totally lost the edginess. These are more marshmallow in comparison.

I love gen 3. Sure I am a bit underwhelmed by clawdeen but I see potential. And I know for a fact I like the gen 3 doll models way more then gen 1. it makes sense the dolls don’t have stands , as a kid I’d just throw them away since you don’t really play with them, kids will appreciate accessories and clothes over a stand. Thought I do think they should have added a hairbrush
same!! i feel like i like clawdeen more and more every time i look at her. i kinda blew her off at first but her design is pretty cool when you look at it all together.

I personally don't like the pink on Frankie, ik a lot of people like it bc it's like the trans flag colors but it's just weird to me, and I like the darker colors that they had in the og idk I just feel like the designs are all very similar and bright and pink and I miss when every doll just had a signature color and weren't so pastel and bright
oh wow i didnt even notice that they are sort of trans colors, thats pretty cool! i like pastels so im pretty cool with the color scheme but i know alot of people want them to be darker.
Cleo's "Egyptian", so I think that's not a burrito, but a shawarma/gyros wrap.
(Not that that's not still anachronistic.)
Wish the heads were not so big, but I like that the shanks are a little shorter, and that the dolls don't have the swollen ankles that the current animation does.
oh yea, figured that out after a bit :) its interesting because on some of the new dolls the head looks smaller than their predecessors and others look bigger.
I wanna get all of them I wasn't allowed to get monster high as a kid so I'm sooo excited to get the this time 😍😍😍

11:04 Since you like Draculaura dolls with mostly pink hair, you're in luck with Howliday Draculaura. She has black stripes in front, and then everything else is pink. There is tinsel as well, and it's apparently the type that they use on Cleo, but it's done mostly up top from what I have seen.

Honestly, I would rather have a stand and a brush than all the accessories. Don't get me wrong I am not mad about the new dolls but for the price point please give me a stand....

My favorite without a doubt is Draculaura, very gothic but Kawai and Lolita at the same time, not to mention her new body, which is beautiful.

I'm not going to lie, as a doll customizer I like the new monster high dolls. The various body types I'm liking, but is it just me or all the dolls quality consistency off?
i think theyre pretty consistently good quality, i think some of the design is more spot on than others but the quality of their accessories and clothes is prettttty good.

at first I didn't really like lagoona when I first saw her design, I was really jarred by the fact she was pink but after getting a proper look at her shes actually my favourite now although I really like them all. Most excited at a possible abby bominable in the future though
i just love the pink! i was never a super fan of lagoona's grey blue skin though. i want abby nowwww!! i saw some super blurry pics of abby today, i hope she comes out soon!

I have an honest question, do the dolls have removable and re attachable hands? Trying to put a coat on my Cleo doll and the hand is stuck on the sleeve!
they do! theyre a little annoying to pull in and out but theyre detachable.

Lagoona's last name is Blue not pink, Lagoona Blue G3 looks more of a colorful mermaid instead of her G1. I love G1 better, I think Mattel should bring back G1 since it's more popular

these are a lil pricey but the price varies by color. id type in kaiser doll stand to amazon and the type and look around at the different colors.

how do i put their jackets on?
The hands have to be removed hold them straight pull out straight and hold the hand stems straight to push - snap back in place. They say if they aren't straight the stems with hands on them can break. Just pull straight out when holding the arm.
I have this Cleo DeNile Doll
Personally, Lagoona was my favourite girl and I feel like they've ruined her. The multi-coloured hair was interesting but I dislike it a lot.The colour combo of blue skin with the blonde + blue hair was so fun and pretty and now she's a murky pink colour that doesnt scream fish at all. I DO like the scale pattern on her forehead, but i feel like it doesnt make up for the lack of webbed fingers. The gradient on her legs is cool, but I think it looks very washed out, again it would be better reversed...
Also Clawdeen is...awful. just. flat awful. I despise the new one, it's so disappointing, Clawdeen was my second favourite and she's lost all her sass, her y2k fashion vibes, she just feels like a completely different character now. I dunno, she feels like OG Clawdeen's younger nerdier sister if that makes sense? It just doesn't feel like Clawdeen yknow?
I adore Frankie's new design, they look amazing. The metal leg is so cool and brings such good "built monster" vibes.
Draculaura looks really cute too, I love that they gave her a little bit of a chunkier body type.
Cleo's new design looks great! It's way more unique than the usual "stereotypical cleopatra" that she used to get stuck with. Her new dress feels a lot more authentic and her jewellery is beautiful. Love her new makeup too, absolutely fantastic!
They can't do webbed fingers properly because the Black Lagoon monster was her father but because Universal owns that they probably can't use it anymore because they're with Nickelodeon and paramount now media wise so no greenie blue skin, no fingers webbed and no Australian since that's where the black lagoon is.. the fact that you think pink isn't a fish or aquatic creature colour means you are severely unformed.. fish and birds boast some of the most vibrant and vast colours in the world and are even multicoloured and change colour due to mating seasons, migrating to a different area, chemicals, pH, to survive, etc.. it pays to do research and think logically before saying things that make you look uninformed and misguided.. if you're gonna say you dislike something don't use false information to make an argument just say you don't like it and be done with it.
i think its perfectly fine to dislike the g3 dolls, or certain g3 dolls. i agree about clawdeen, shes grown on me but i think she is kind of missing her sass. Have you seen the leaks for the mh skulltimate secrets dolls? I think those are pretty sassy and just overall really dig the fashion.
The only body and look I liked was cleo. I hated most of the face shapes, body shapes, design, etc. She is the only good one to me.

As an adult MH collector I WANT to like these dolls but uuuuugh I just can't. They all look way too "cutesie" and almost generic in a way. I fell in love with the original MH because they were edgy and a little whimsically goth and slightly creepy, like if Tim Burton created Barbie. I was always "the weird artsy kid" when I was little and 8 year old me would have DIED to have those dolls if they had existed in the early 90s. But I feel like these dolls have lost all their "edge." They don't even look like monsters anymore. The old dolls put soooo much details into the accessories and back stories of each character. I feel like this reboot was just a random money grab for Mattel.
i personally really like cutesie things so im here for it but its valid to not like em.
They did Clawdeen so dirty in this gen. Her dolls are the ugliest. The hair color, the awful hair quality, tacky and ugly fashion. Literally the only thing I like about her is her cute face. That's about it

Draculara hair is serian frankie hair is also serian cleo hair is also also serian but lacoonga clawdeen and ghoulia is polypropylene I don't really like polypropylene it is the one of the worst doll hair ever

I got my Frankie yesterday and I am in love with them. 🥹🥹 Their outfit is my favorite so far and I love all the little scribbles on their prosthetic and how loooong their legs are! I set them up sitting at the edge of my shelf with their feet dangling and I am. 😭😭😭 This is the first Monster High doll Ive owned and I think they are precious and don’t deserve all the hate they are getting.
Next I’m planning on getting Draculaura bc duh she is to DIE FOR and it was so hard choosing between her and Frankie (Frankie had the quickest delivery so thats how I chose lmao) and then the Cleo and Clawdeen from the next release bc their outfits are so friggin cute and they fixed Clawdeen’s hair and now it looks so nice!
Edit: I also feel like these dolls are going to be so much fun to play around with. I’ve seen many people make clothes for Draculaura and she looks amazing on all of them and somebody gave Frankie a comfy sweater and a bob cut and I 😭😭😭😭❤️❤️
ooo awesome! i feel a bit mixed on all the long legs of what seems to be the more signature body. like in a fashion way i like it, but i also like things that are a little more proportionate. and congrats on your first monster high doll!! its so fun buying them as they come out instead if having to look for em on ebay and pay an arm and a leg! oooo which next release do you mean? im super excited for...i think its skulltimate secrets? i think thats the name. so excited for that line! i think these dolls are just so fashionable! like they look good in so many aesthetics and im just super excited to have a doll line that isnt....giant headed hahahahaha like dont get me wrong, i love rainbow high but i prefer this scale for fashion dolls.
@@jackyohhhxo Well I haven’t held any of the other dolls yet so I can only speak for Frankie about the legs lol. I personally think it suits their character since it makes them look taller and more-idk Frankensteinish. 😅 And yes the ones I’m talking about are those you mentioned!!! They really are so fashionable and cool looking!!! I think the dolls get a lot of hate for not being “fashionable” and “edgy” enough but I think thats pretty subjective, besides if the Skulltimates show us anything is that theres still more to come and it’s too early to truly know what’s the exact direction they are heading with the clothes. Question: did you see the leaks of the Spectra??? Omigosh she is so cute and soft!! 🥺🥺
I’ve been wanting to get a rainbow high but I agree its nice to see a doll without a gigantic head. Everytime I see one I feel like there had to be a moment where a very pissed off little girl whacked her younger brother with a rainbow high head and left the mother of bumps in his head. 😂 Maybe they aren’t that heavy but they look dangerous. But yeah I used to collect Disney Princess dolls as a kiddo but I stopped years back because of prices and as cute as RH are they always looked to bulky and out of price range for me, so I’m glad MH came along an revived a hobby like that :’)
