ugh i still cant get over your covers I love how you decorated them so much 😭🤎 also I've never seen anyone else put in the time of when they write their journal entries! i also feel like it helps ground what I'm writing to see the time when I wrote it not just the date

I picked up an interesting hint from Katherine of Sterling Ink and I love it. She uses a light color like grey or sienna, etc. and divides the journal page into 2 columns - it was life changing for me! Give it a go. I love the way that Sterling sets up there planners
Oh that's a good idea! I've tried it with regular black ink but didn't like it so much, maybe because the line was too bold? I'll give this idea a go 😊
Yes! So excited for you! I have said goodbye to Hobonichi for the most part (have a weeks I got at a conference but I won’t purchase one for next year) I am Sterling Ink all the way! Love the Hobonichi layout but w/ SI I get clean pages no holidays or quotes anywhere. I love the standard size (had cut the Hobonichi Avec down to one b4 SI’s creation) it’s so awesome! Excited to see your setup!!

I chose to go with the Kinbor 1 day 1 page instead of the Hobonichi Cousin. I had the same reservations about the weekly pages. I know I could commit to the monthly and dedicate that to either weather tracking, a doodle a day, or a daily gratitude. And I would use the dailies. They also come in an AVEC version so you get 6 months in a book so it doesn’t get super chunky, and it’s been fine with all my fountain pens.
Ooh okay that's interesting - I didn't know that the Kinbor planner didn't have weekly pages! Good to know; I think I'm going to make a list of all these amazing options we have so I can reference it!

Yay for the Common Planner in A5! (I use that one too) I hope it works well for you. I'm loving the freedom the undated pages in the back give me. And yes, I'd love to see another set-up video. Don't feel pressured however, sometimes it can be fun to just do a set-up without filming.

I was just browsing for an A5 as well. I was considering the avec since I would not want to lug around the full book to journal on the go. I was looking at the day free as well. I personally would not use the weeklies. Excited to see your new one. xx

I love hobo but I’ve fully converted to the common planner too - I have a full yr onyx b6 for my main book and a caramel a5 compact for my everyday carry at work. The dated pages, colours, quotes & layouts in the cousin started to annoy me last yr so wanted a change! Feel so much more free and relaxed in the common planner because of its minimal but effective design (I live in Edinburgh uk and shipping / taxes worked out the same as prev orders from Japan)
Ahh that's so interesting! They sound like a great pair 😊 I think that's how I feel too - the Common Planner is so easy to put your own 'stamp' on! And yes I think my Sterling Ink order with taxes etc was probably about the same as Hobonichi which I actually didn't expect!
For the moment, I have found planner piece in the B6 for Common planner and TN (N1) for work but you know how that goes
I was waiting for this video after your Instagram stories :) I think you will love the A5 common planner. Will you set the weeklies up in the same way? I'm trying dividing the page like you have done, just a bit lower down. Will see how it goes.
Ahh yes I’m sooo excited!! I’m definitely planning on setting up the weeklies the same yes 😊 but yes same I may divide the page lower down so I can take advantage of my sticker kits from The Coffee Monsterz Co and use those some weeks 😊
I know this is many months later, but are you still using the Sterling Ink B6 full year common planner? How did it compare to the Hobonichi A5 for you? I’m trying to decide between a B6 and an A5 common planner for next year. I had a B6 Compact one that I didn’t start before, but a month ago I needed something more functional that the Traveler’s Notebook because I was constantly needing to get clips for the pages, etc., so I pulled out the B6 and started using it the last few weeks. I’ve been pleasantly surprised since it’s been functional and I can easily document. I do realize that the compact doesn’t have enough pages in the back (only 120 pages) so I’m planning on a full year. Thanks!
Never too late to ask a question! I'm no longer using the Common Planner because I kind of changed around my system a bit around April. I really liked the Common Planner but for me, there's just something about a Hobonichi that makes me want to keep going back to it!
I think if I were to get another Common Planner in the future I would go for an A5, just because I like to use quite a lot of stickers and washi tape! I love B6 as a size and find it very portable, but A5 is better suited to my needs 😊

Hey, Brontë, where do you find refills for the Hobonichi pens? I can't seem to find them in the right size and they run out so fast!
Hello! I found some on Amazon but they were tricky to find I agree!! The exact code/name for them is ‘Uni Jetstream refill SXR-80-05’ - I got a box of 10 for £15 which seemed pretty good 😊
