When I lived there in the 60’s the Jack Tar Hotel and resort was there. Very popular place. They had a huge salt water pool. Long gone now. I have been there under similar conditions in my boat. Found very poor holding. A thin layer of sand then hard coral. Glad you rode it out ok.

Even with the goofy weather, you made the right call going to the Bahamas this summer instead of the Florida Keys. I have made several trips to the keys this summer and the gulf water temps are in the mid 90s and the reef fishing has been off because of it. Keep having fun and be safe.

Hey skipper another great video the island 🏝 are spectacular and you really know how get every angle. I'm sure you see alot of marine life dolphins, sea turtles, birds, bait fish crashing, etc. You ever try to get good aerial drone shots of them?. Your doing such an awesome job with the drone I think if you can get aerial shots of say bait fish crashing or maybe a sea turtle that would really be spectacular especially if you use the slo mo! I'm just learning how to utilize my drone and get nice video hovering 50 ft over bait fish and marine life can be spectacular. Just a thought. Anyway great job keep em coming skip!

I guess I would also add I always enjoy watching the meals, coffee, etc. You really make it happen on such a small boat. As a boat guy myself, it might be interesting to see how you prepare for your trips. Like looking for the right weather patterns, float plan, supplying the Crooked Pilot House Boat, lol etc. I bet Im not the only one that would enjoy that. Anyway Keep the content coming I enjoy it and usually learn something!@@OutOnTheReef

Iove the tranquility of being on the sea instead of a marina. But a boat like mine isn't weather worthy to stay in open waters if a storm would come up. Hopefully if i get to cross one day i will have to book a room and dock in the marina.

Hi Capt... love the video and the great drone footage!.... When my wife and I were cruising more, we like you, preferred to be anchored out, especially at night. It is much more peaceful and quieter, and there is better privacy. Some marinas got too loud with people partying late into the night; making it hard to sleep! ☺

Hi Capt. good morning from grey and windy Melbourne, Australia. Two videos in one week, what a bonus! You aren't crazy, I much prefer to be out of the marinas and swinging on the anchor or a mooring. My wife bought me a drone for my birthday, a DJI Mini 2. What drone do you use? I'm looking forward to summer so I can take some shots of the boat and my fishing grounds.

We are serious about our beer, boats and fishing 😃 I had my 300 hp Mercruiser and Bravo 2 removed from my boat today. She goes in for some serious fibreglassing next month and will be converted to an outboard by early October. I’d love to message you privately but not sure how to go about it. We have so much in common.

Our boat can only go so far in California and there’s a big hurricane pushing the fish up this Monday. Fishing is about to get good, hopefully everybody stays off the water with the winds and waves.

At four minutes into the video why did you not move closer to the beach to have more protection from the waves? You mentioned the rocks were blocking the big waves and it was 4 foot deep would it have been better to be closer to shore?
good point cap but is very shallow areas 2 to 3 feet deep and in some areas 1 feet so is very shallow that's why i always anchor this far, thanks for the suggestion cap.

The Cubano eats better on his boat than I do in my house 😮, looks like a nice protected marina, lucky you got your pilot house just the way you wanted, sweet, are you allowed to anchor there in case of emergency ? private ? being that you're all over the place, have you ever gone through, close to the Bermuda Triangle, if so any stange happenings ? enjoy, stay safe out there, watch out for aliens ( ET) !

Smart move, Captain. Mother Nature can change with little notice. Sorry you lost your ball cap. Try butter on the steak as well and a garlic clove. What is the square "monument" in the water? Marinas are great for people that like to chat and mingle...anchor is better.
