"I don't want my son to see that anyone has that kind of hold over me" was such a powerful sentence. All of that of course disappears in the spin-off show for some reason, though I'm glad they do touch on that in the S1 finale.
When you look at Negan's face at the end you see nothing but regret. He really changed as a person; Rick was right to let him live.
Carl* if it wasn’t for Carl. Rick wouldn’t have kept him alive
@@pinkinheart It was still Rick who made the decision, not Carl.
@@TheRubberMatch like I said. Had it not been for Carl. Rick wouldn’t have kept him alive. Carls influence drove Rick to keeping him alive.
Carl was right.

Negans arc has to be one of the best arcs ever done in TV history, so beautifully written and developed
Your kidding right? In TV history?!! Not even remotely close.
@@badmonkey2222 “one of”
@@badmonkey2222 surely he had one of the best arc in television history.
Negans character came so far. He is so interesting and I think they will explore this character ark even further with the spin off
You mean the most unrealistic arc? Should have had his ass handed to him numerous times after what he did to Glenn and Abraham.
These two characters have a deep story with beautifully written dialogues and the acting is also phenomenal.. This is serious drama at its best to say the least
Negan still had one of the most important philosophies in a post apocalyptic world : "people are a resource." When he was using that mindset for selfish reasons, it was a problem, but at it's core he wasn't wrong. Without people, you can't rebuild the world.
Just watched the scene where Negan killed Abraham and Glenn. Geez how much I hated Negan. The way he killed them was brutal but his character development was incredible. I agree with Maggie and how she could never forgive him but she's trying and he's trying. If he killed the man I love, I don't think he would've made it this far. Rage would've consumed me and changed me entirely so hats off to Maggie.
Negan is a changed man now I can imagine rick seeing negan like this now
If it wasn't for Carl no way Rick would've let him live.
You can’t move on from what he did to Glen if you are Maggie, not like this to the point where you can face somebody like Neegan. He is a constant reminder of the greatest loss and pain she could ever imagine. The PTSD, the anger, sadness, rage..real life doesn’t work that way. This show became ridiculous when Neegan was allowed to live after that point. He should have been eliminated how many seasons ago?
Is it bad that I regularly watch that scene? lol
@@justincaldero5174 yes.
Must say Maggie's and Negan's arc makes me think like nothing in a long time. Negan was a devil for brutally killing glenn with smile on his face, he might have been doing it to scare and punish Rick's group, but that does not make it okay. But he regrets it and tries to make things good, even helps maggie evertime he can, and I personally bealive everybody deserves redemption. But I still don't blame maggie for not forgiving and forgeting. It's a trauma that you just cannot erase from your head.
Forgiving doesn’t mean forgetting it means no longer letting that person have control over you and it frees you as well. It also can heal what was broken. Even not just making amends with one who wronged you but also building on a new foundation.
@@joshswicegood3253 That scene truly shows how much Negan changed as a person. He was probably the most ruthless, most evil villain bar from Alpha, and him to show that genuine remorse like that is the reason why they kept him alive. I don't blame Maggie at all for not forgiving him for what he's done to her late husband as it to this day is still shocking & horrific just seeing that. The way Maggie described not getting consumed by hate for Negan and not allowing that to control her life shows the level of writing was really good on the main walking dead show. The scenes between them were so incredibly deep.
Let's be real. Solid chance the pair would have split up in 5-10 years anyway, so no big loss. The will to redeem one's self is what I consider true love for others. Many of us will say falling in love with the wrong person was a mistake. The only mistake is to not learn from your mistakes---and the worst mistake is to not pass that wisdom on.
This scene is so important, and it was definitely a needed dialogue between them. Maggie letting Negan know that she knows he’s changed and is trying to do good by everyone else, but that she can’t forgive him. She might not ever forgive him. Some things just can’t be forgiven, and that’s okay. But Maggie acknowledging that he’s a different person now is the most important thing. I think Glenn would be proud of both of them, Maggie especially, for how far they have come and how they have worked together for the betterment of their friends. And I know if he was around he would be grateful to Negan for taking care of Maggie and his son. It’s just the kind of person Glenn was.
That's so true.. Glenn became one of the last moral authorities after he learned those ways from Dale & Hershel. He was good & the fact that you're most likely right that he'd be proud just shows how BIG he really was.
Some family member hurt me real bad, I can’t and won’t forgive it, ever…but I am capable of being in the same room as them, talking to them at family gatherings, having a good time with them at these gatherings. I do it for my mother in law, it means a lot to her. I feel good about myself for behaving like this, but they will never, ever get a hug again, that is too much.
@@Cobalt_Colonel If I'd be Glenn judging from above the sky, I'd acknowledge Negan's actions were not personal - to him I was a guy he randomly spotted that he had to kill for proving a point. Even when Negan was a villain, he didn't think he was (or thought he's a necessary evil) ,as his leadership used fear to unite and rule people. And I give him that in a sense, without law and order , people will do mistakes and crimes. Your fear of punishment or death is the best motivation to keep you out from causing problems. You just witnessed how many of Rick's group or Alexandria and other establishments were given many or more chances and they screwed up, causing more death to the ones who didn't deserve it. But under Negan's leadership, those who'd never break the rule would never have to suffer.
You know what I liked about how they handled his arc? His apology came after he had repeatedly defended his actions to Maggie. If he'd apologized to her from the start, she'd have had no way of knowing if it was sincere, and it would be impossible to shake the suspicion that he was merely trying to say what she wanted to hear in order to get back in her good graces. His initial refusal to admit his wrongdoing, while it greatly hurt her and made it seem like he hadn't changed, helped establish that he was being honest and open about how he felt--even to the point of endangering his own life and his place in the community. And that made the apology when it did finally come seem more genuine. She knew he wouldn't have said it if he didn't actually feel it.
I say this because I've seen so many shows mishandle redemption arcs, making them too forced to be convincing.
this was beautifully put together, the music and especially maggie's scenes with glenn and then hershel got me sad fr. great edit 😭❤️
Thank you 🩵
What is hurting Maggie not because Glen died but his gruesome murder happened right in front of her, she was pregnant and have to watch helplessly the one she loves. Hearing someone you love die and witnessing someone you love die and cannot do anything to help hits different. Forgiveness is a process, so all the Maggie haters give her a break
I always liked negan he was a great walking dead villain that turned good like an anti hero almost his origin story is sad I love characters like that plus Jeffery dean Morgans acting is amazing
Negan was always portray as anti villain wifh redeemable qualities. Since the beginning, they were called The Saviors for a reason, because they actually halped and saved people. Negan was always fair with anyone. What happened with Gleen and Abraham was because Rick attacked first without trying talking and making a deal
And the those guys and gals in the satellite station were moms, dads, brothers and sisters etc... Negan failed with his group because of Rick's attack
I don’t understand how some people think TWD has zero character development. I mean, look at these two, look at Carol, look at Gabriel and Eugene. I could probably name more but those are the ones who I think have had the best character development throughout the entire series. Sure, it’s very slow development but that is what makes scenes like this hit so much harder and be way more important. Definitely gonna watch their spinoff along with Rick and Michonne’s. Still unsure about Daryl’s now that Melissa dropped out, but I’ll still check it out I guess.
I mean from getting scared by walkers and shouting for help on a rock surrounded by walkers to massacring hundreds of walkers .. Gabriel’s character development might be the best along with Carol’s in the entire series.
Their character development happens without proper reasons and events
They just change randomly without a purpose unlike Negan for example
@@namedclaiming821 That is really incorrect lol. Maggie changed from a farm girl to a hardened leader by losing family and friends over time and being traumatized by her husbands brutal death. Gabriel use to be a coward but eventually eating wild dogs and killing people made him mercilessly and gain much more survival instinct. There is ALWAYS little things that happen that build up on the characters progression. I wouldn’t believe you even kept watching the show if you literally think they just changed the characters in one single episode lol.
i'm not an emotional sort at all but this entire episode and these two made me feel some kinda way absolutely love Negan and Maggie to see how far they've both come is incredible
Negan has one of the best redemption storylines on TV.
Alright, I stopped watching the show after Glen died because I got depressed. He was one of my favorite characters in the show and for some reason that scene was just to brutal for me. Then I stumbled on this video and have a huge lump in my throat knowing that Negan is no longer the villain but can not take back what he did. He has to carry that weight
I love how you took this.
Whenever a villain turns to the light I kinda get teary
You gotta go back. I implore you to keep watching through til the end of the series. Despite the party line, there are some amazing story lines and scenes after the clearing episode.
@@jsociety4964 that is good writing when you start to side with the villian. All of the characters are doing what they think is right from their own pov.
This was put together so well!
Thank you!
I used to think Maggie was holding on to this grudge for too long. But the way Negan slaughtered Glenn, being there to witness it all, Maggie has every right. Glenn was a good dude
Under right circumstances this would be the love story of the entire show.
#maketheflashpointmovie
Agreed, esp when Maggie says “I don’t want to hate you anymore…” ❤️🩹 I wish she could’ve hung onto part of that sentiment, but Dead City is amazing and I can’t wait for Season 2!! 🙌
The way they handled ending the rivalry between these two was so well done, it's honestly the perfect place to end their storyline! Negan finally swallowed his pride, and gave a genuine apology to Maggie for killing Glenn and Maggie choosing to not forgive him but wants to try and move on and not hate Negan anymore made their relationship feel like it reached its conclusion.
There is literally nothing else they can say to each other, but move on with their lives and never see each other again. This is why I'm very conflicted about their upcoming spin-off series. It just doesn't seem necessary and could potentially ruin the development of these two characters, along with the themes they explored.
I understand your fear about their spin off, but the chemistry between them is so important. Amc had other plans for Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan but their dinamics are too strong to don"t put them topether on the show again. (sorry for my bad english)
Don't be afraid of the spinoff, it will be good.
Those two made the show after rick and Carl left. Love those two.
This was well put together! The feels are coming back, 😪.
Thank you so much! ☺️ Happy you liked it
This was so powerful… My favorite moments of the finale along with Rosita’s dialogue.
I love negan's apologize too ;)
The best part of negans character development was the fact that he never asked or wanted forgiveness from anyone he just wanted to make sure people didnt remeber only the monster he was but the man he had become. he had a great arc....Second best character on the show next to Shane. I wish he had been in the show longer to see what he would have become.....I think he would have been the opposite of negan. Negan was introduced as a monster turned back and shane was a man turned into a monster and in a short period of time may i add so what would 10 year have done to him that would have been wild. Similar to rick but on steroids.
I understand Maggie. But she does give grace to Negan where it is deserved.
Their relationship means so much to me
I will be doing a LOT of Dead City edits with these two, that's for sure! 💕
Same ;-;
Lauren Cohans acting was extremely GOOD
This made me cry immensely
Negan really was putting on a character during that whole "Saviors" era. He felt larger than life, literally invincible, even had an identifiable costume and a special unique weapon. However, once it all fell apart and he had to let that go, he looks so normal now. He even speaks normally, not like a sports announcer. With the "Lucille" Negan, it felt like he was untouchable. With this Negan, even his words sound vulnerable. It's almost like a completely different new character, and that's really cool. This isn't "Savior Negan," he's just another survivor now with pain and regret.
I loove them, this was beautiful
This was a beautiful edit.
Thank you 🌙
May not have been the answer Negan wanted but it's the answer he accepted
Wow... this is masterpiece ❤ I don't blame her that she can't forgive him, I mean I did not forgive him for what he did either, but he's changed and they're both trying to move on and that's what matters.
This scene made me cry so much.
It was awesome finally getting a real apology from Negan about killing her husband Glenn, finally realizing what he did was horrible and terrifying for her to watch when he murdered him and having sympathy and remorse towards her knowing that now. When looking at it from Negan's point of view when Maggie's group raided one his outposts and killed his people is what prompted his response to take an eye for an eye, that's why for the longest time he never felt that he wronged her for just getting back at the people who killed his people
Wow, a beautiful edit put together!!!!
Thank you 😍
That last scene with Maggie and Negan would’ve been a great time for Maggie to ask who is Lucille, and then Negan could’ve explained what happened to his first wife, and how he turned into that evil Negan
I think in this moment, the baseball bat’s name doesn’t that matter anymore.
Because after all negan did to save Maggie and her son, after he is truly regret for what’s he did as a leader.
Maggie still don’t forgive him.
In the final Negan is not the man who swing the bat or great a fighter, he just a part of the group, and a man who wants to make things right , put the team before himself.
I think this is the reason why this moment is not about the bat’s story or how he turns to a big villain .
It’s about what he is right now . And try really really hard to fix the damage he cost before.
😢this made me Cry!
Some times i think Negan loves Maggie but for what he did to her true love he never see the deserving to explain it.
The problem is that we only see Maggies perspective. You didnt see it from the lens of 50+ people that Rick and the crew killed. You have an emotional investment bias
horrible take tbh
this is so dumb
Amazing job thanks you.
Why do I ship them somehow? I know it's wrong but this chemistry....like Wow. Def gona watch the Spin off
Well they were Batman's parents. 🤣
Glenn's ghost will get seriously cucked
@@TheseHoesAreLoyal it will - poor guy 😅
yeah i understand but i don"t think they will end up together maybe in another show ;)
i think that's just a testament to both actors' performance lol. i see why people ship them but in actuality that would be so fcked up and unnecessary. would love to see them become friends tho!
I was the first one to call it Maggie and Neagen gonna fall in love
she literally told him she will never love anyone the way she loved glenn 💀 and she will never forgive him
They will be together in the new show

@@petermiller3774 lauren cohan already said maggie and negan never will be friends. they just work together again. and in the leaked video from new show they are still fighting and trying to kill each other lmao. besides negan is already married and has a child
@@perc1beth Maggie doesn't control the script the writers do and it's going to happen mark my words
The only thing missing was..
Seeing Judith visiting Negan and talking about the old days with him
Thats what happens in the comic but with Carl instead. Judith replaced Carl's role with Negan in the show.
amazing edit, i think you would make a wonderful Shane edit, as you know shane had multiple name mentions even after he died
The thing is Negan felt completely justified when he killed Glenn and had a reason (in his mind, in that world) for doing it. What he said then and throughout his story was not wrong. Ricks group did in fact attack his 'home' and people first. The way the Saviors society worked there was only one option after that: punish and subjugate. Not saying anything they did was 'right', but in their minds and certainly Negans there no longer was right or wrong, only kill or be killed. Shane said as much in season 2. Rick and his group came very close to becoming the same thing. They might have actually become the same as them if the Saviors hadn't come into play to show them just how far gone humanity can go if you remove morality from the equation. It made everyone realize there was indeed a better way to survive.
Everyone is the hero of their own story.
This scene makes me cry
Negan is the best character in twd.
Is great it broke my heart❤
This was pretty good..
They Need To Go On & Bump Unglys, & Get On With There Relationship...
great job on this tis is how it should of been done in the show
Thank you so much!
They should be together romantically
he literally ruined her life 💀 what is wrong with you
About time.
Also the look on this mans face tells a story.
Emotional
They're gonna bang in the spin off
Bruh💀😂😭
And we gonna get Bruce Wayne
No one will watch the spinoff, though, so it'll be like it never happened.
Please don’t…
You would bang the one who killed your husband too right? Jesus you have no self respect.
Good to see the Wayne’s still together
Maggy just doesn't stop. Lol
I'm not entirely sure how much time passed between Negan's first appearance and now (in the show), but apparently redemption makes you age much faster XD the guy looks 20 years older than when he first showed up!
I bet in the spin off he dies defending her or the kid and then she finally forgives him or something
You know upon rewatching the show a couple times…you start to see Negan almost always had a good reason for doing what he does. Yes, he’s a bully and he’s terrible, but Ricks group DID massacre a whole building full of people with very little provocation. It’s not like they are innocent in what happened either.
I’m not saying what he did was okay but he was only gonna kill one person which was Abraham but Daryl got emotional and attacked him after he warned everybody when Glenn did it first
TWD unintentionally taught us what's in the real world...
Can't wait for the next chapter of Negan-Maggie, randomly would it be interesting to see if they ship?

Ohhhh I have planned to make a LOT of Dead City edits with these two! 💕
All that negan did… and yet somehow I still manage to feel bad for the guy
I don't know why, but I can't see Negan being that emotional and helpless. I guess his old persona was too 😨 scary
One of the best scene of the show. Well play by Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. My favorite is negan's apologize but this is closed to second.
hopefully he gets cast a Rogal Dorn in the new 40k universe Cavill is building....he would be fantastic particularly during the longest second
Maggie didn't want her son to see that negan had that kind of hold on her but he did and he's messed up from it its sad good show the walking dead
Their dynamic and storyline after Rick left was the only thing keeping me in this series. She had so many chances to kill Negan. She never did. However, their series goes. She never will.
Maggie and Negan stole season 11, without them this season will be boring. Can't wait to see their spin off
the only reason she didn't kill him because of his plot armor 💀 in reality he would've been dead a long time ago

Honesty i hope this is how it actually happens, i hate the idea of gradually knowing your health is declining and youre going to die soon.
I understand if Maggie cannot forgive him 😔 he killed her husband all she has are memories now and her son has to grow up without a father but I see how much negan has changed so it's easy for me to forgive him but difficult for Maggie I still remember when negan lost his first wife I felt so bad for him 💔 😢 so both negan and Maggie lost their true loves
All that would've been avoided if they hadn't tried to play hero in the first place.
I hope Negan gets to see Rick again
I’m glad this show finally ended, but also sad that one of the greatest shows of all time has come to a close. Sure, they probably should’ve ended after season 8 imo, but still a legendary show
I really hope they don’t fall in love or something. That would feel so wrong.

His "redemption" and people actually accepting him already makes very little sense.
In the new series I hope glenn ghost haunts negan that would be good to see play out

WHen you remember Negan and you see who he became, it does not make sense at all.
Negan didn't see the Glenn we all saw.
He just saw a group of people who slaughtered loads of his people at an outpost.
He saw Rick and co no different to how Rick saw the cannibals and wolves. As a threat to his people wellbeing.
Therefore as much as well all love Glenn. Negan didn't see that Glenn (or abe). Negan was not the 100% true villian in my opinion as he actually did do good guy things during that time. Helping gabariel, saving sasha from being raped, giving Eugene that much need self confidence, saving Carl from his men, saving Rick from a potentially dangerous Spencer.
Simon however.. Simon was a full fledged evil villian in the saviours
I love Glenn and yes Negan wasn't great but I got it!
Carl dying was obviously bullshit, but its his death that made Rick be the bigger man and keep Negan alive, and because of that Negan became one of the group’s most valuable alies and he tries at every chance to make up for what he’s done. Its an impossible task, and I truly feel like his life sacrifice for maggie is gonna complete his arc, in the spinoff.
No its complete dumb nonsense from the show because they didnt want to pay Chandler riggs the adult wages he deserved, so they just wrote off carl for no reason besides the fact they have bad writing issue and they're bad people. Rick soared negan in the comics without killing negan, but he also fucked over negan in the show than he ever did in the comics.
pls make the music louder next time
I will :D
The Rick definitely wanted them to have this conversation!
But what Negan said!
A lot of people!
Rick's group took a lot of saviors' lives without even thinking about them having families, friends or just people to care about!
Rick's group was just in this "greater good" mode when they were snuffing lives of the saviors at those outposts!
And Negan, Negan took only TWO lives from Rick's group as a punishment although had every right to kill all of them in Season 6 Episode 16!
And at the end of the day - Rick's group never understood what Negan tried to get to them.
He valued people more than Rick.
He cared about his loved ones more than Rick although he cheated on his wife.
Negan was capable of learning of his mistakes.
Unlike Rick!
I Can See Your SOCKET!!!
Justice will never be served unless Negan is killed….. yeah yeah I know 🙄 all you fans, yada yada……. In life you must pay for your crimes. The shear number of people Negan killed AND the brutal sadistic way in which he did it, mocking them all? Negan not getting killed frankly shits all over those innocent ones he killed….. see my point? You pay for your crimes in this life in this world….. and Maggie needs to be the one to end Negan….. it would bring closure, it would bring finality to the whole story…… that’s my opinion
There is no "justice" system in a post apocalyptic world like that. Naive way of thinking.
It's just unfortunate that the show lost it's way right after Negan killed Glenn great character and great acting.
Idk why but walking dead only has 8 eposise for mw
If this was a real life situation, I really won't forgive him. He killed love of her life in front of her wtf
3:58
If they get together in their spin off ill be really mad
If you view it in Negan's eye Rick and the group were villians they killed a lot of Negan's men and Negan killing Abraham and Glenn was little compared to Rick's Group
Pity Maggie and Glen so deep 🥲
Batman's parents ;)
Wonder what would have happened to Maggie and her group if they meet this guy would be negan fault , she blames him for everything
