Can we also show love to his sister? Looks like they were close from childhood and she’s so supportive! The parents must be awesome also to raise children without having one feel neglected over the other with special needs. All the best to them!
My favourite thing about this is how much that brother and sister love each other, and the pure joy she feels in his accomplishment. I'm disabled, and people often praise my husband for marrying me, like he's a saint and I'm a charity case. They tell me how lucky I am to have found him, but never tell him how lucky he is to have found me. He often reminds them that I take care of him just as much as he takes care of me. People forget that we disabled people have just as much to offer others as they have to offer us. It's clear that this brother and sister know this truth in their very bones.
Well said! Thanks for speaking up. Remember, there are lots of people just like you who are going through the same, pathetic treatment. You and your husband are lucky to have each other! He sounds like a keeper.
@@teresalegler2777 Thanks, Teresa. I spoke up precisely because I know I'm not the only one, and I'd love for people to get a better attitude about how they see disabled people. My husband is definitely a keeper, btw. Eleven years so far.
Beautifully said.❤ a friend of mine has cerebral palsy, and she is such a strong, independent woman, and bring so much to the world, and I’ve seen her accomplish so many things, despite what others might assume of her because of the disability. 👏 you are amazing.
@@thisisclaudiawang The only thing I want to add here is that a lot of the impediments we face are *not* caused by our disabilities but are, instead, caused by society's attitudes towards our disabilities, and its refusal to make the world accessible to us. Despite the law, I'd say only about 5% of public access buildings are actually accessible; employers will seldom hire us, and, when they do, they refuse to accommodate our needs; transportation systems are often very difficult or impossible to use ... etc, etc. These are barriers thrown up in front of us, not by our actual disabilities, but by how little we're valued in our own world. So, when a disabled person manages to accomplish a lot, she's dealing both with her disability and with ableism.
My daughter has hypotonic cerebral Palsy and she also See's a team of doctors at Boston children's hospital! We are absolutely beyond thankful for all the doctors that have helped her grow in her own way and helped make her strong! Way to go do this kid!
Back in the late 80s I went to High school with a kid that had CP and out of 671 kids in our graduating class he was the valedictorian and went to college at Duke (Full Ride) and became a lawyer, I still keep in touch with him till this day. Talk about someone pushing you to do better and not even knowing they are... Thanks, Dan!
This is such a beautiful story ..I got so much motivation from watching this . And I can’t lie that I shed a tear from the support of his sister . Even from when they were little she’s always by his side. Such a blessing to have a sister like her. I love this for him . If he only knew how much motivation he gave me !! Keep up the hard work and keep blessing others like myself with your hard work and dedication! I know God will continue to bless u young man ! 🙏🏾
At graduation, she was in front of him. The photographer took each kid’s photo as they walked down the ramp after the stage. It was so cute that she had her picture taken, then turned and waited for him to catch up so the photographer could take a photo of both of them together.
I wish I had a sister like that while growing up. And the parents must be awesome too. To be able to support, encourage and empower that young man is simply inspiring.
I have zero excuse to be the best version of myself and see all my dreams come true. Thank you Matthew you're my inspiration. Anytime I feel like giving up I will remember you made it to with all your perceived physical limitations 😊

I have a really good feeling that this young person will be at the forefront of the cure or treatment for cerebral palsy & more. Helping special needs of all types. Crying, because I'm so happy for them!! 💜💜
Congratulations on this wonderful achievement, Matthew! All your hard work and hustle paid off. Keep up your great work, and it is so lovely to see such great support from your sister and family!
As a member of the CP gang, I am thrilled for you. I am now 66 and aging with Cerebral spasticity. It has not been easy, but with a supportive family, all things are possible. Best wishes Matthew for this new chapter.
So wholesome & so motivating! Props to him for working so hard, overcoming difficulties, and achievements his dreams. Love how supportive his sister is too! ❤️❤️❤️🥺🥺

Congratulations Matthew!!! You're such a darling person I'm so glad this dream of yours came true. You will do Amazingly at Harvard God bless your sweet heart
Congratulations from Brazil. Last year I completed a full Ironman triathlon and you, Matthew Myslenski, achieved an even higher goal. Keep it up. So happy for you.
Absolutely fantastic, congratulations young man, the world is your oyster and what a wonderful sister and family you have - disabilities doesn’t define you, you define you! You’ve shown that in bucket loads. Have a wonderful life.
This young man is going to do great things. And his sister. . . I don't even have words for how great a person she is. That whole family is just. . . . RIGHT! ! !
What I’m so proud is that, they have a REAL Sibling relationship, A brother-sister bond that everybody wants to have in life (including me!) They grew up so pretty 🥹
I am a middle schooler with cerebral palsy too and I can understand his struggles with education and just daily tasks. Seeing that excitement on his face when he found out that he got accepted made me cry because it’s really inspiring to know how big of dreams you can accomplish even with physical and learning disabilities.
It warms my heart to see such loving family who supports Matthew in every way! Congratulations Matthew! It's your time to shine. You got this!! Harvard should be so lucky to have you! Sending much love from Md!
I am a nobody but i felt like to wish all the best things and happiness fr this boy... And, he is already amazing and believe he would achieve many things.. Every single person with or without disorders is an asset and Mattew is no different at all... Precious like a rare gem.. 💙💙💙
A big shout out to his sister for being there for him. Such a beautiful brother- sister bond. She truly cares for him. Definitely, success chooses people who are willing to give in their best no matter what challenges they have to overcome. Congratulations and best wishes. Looking forward to hearing more such achievements from this inspiring young man.
His reaction is pure joy! It is everything! I'm so happy for him! His sister's reaction is so beautiful too. She is is just as happy for him! Wonderful family!
Oh my God, I am crying. I am not the one who went to Harvard, but I feel I did. I am so proud of this young man! Such amazing spirit. You don't know you can do it until you did.
Lol great, now I'm crying. This is so sweet, and I just love the way that he started clinging to her out of excitement and she was screaming for her brother. Like, they obviously have such a positive and supportive relationship for each other. Of course this video is also impressive for his accomplishments in working extra hard to find different ways to make education more accessible for him so that he could get into Harvard, but really I was the most touched by the close sibling bond in this video. They are both precious and it's so heartwarming to see how much they care about each other and celebrate each other's successes, and not that many siblings out there have such a genuine interest in one another.
WOW!! This is totally AWESOME for Matthew and to have someone beside him to be there when he got accepted is beautiful. CONGRATULATIONS MATTHEW WELL DONE.
