I think Mafex is the clear winner here, but it's definitely a situation where you can't ignore the obvious price difference. When the figures cost 3 times as much as their competition (even more than that when you factor in the cost of importing and shipping these to the United States), they BETTER be significantly better than their domestic counterparts lol
@@ToyShiz specifically for me, I enjoy when reviewers show similar figures from different lines showing the height comparisons and how the aesthetics either fit or don't fit in with each other. I enjoy when you do your spawn comparisons that way as well, obviously from the same company, but different eras. I'm someone who mainly collects comic book-based figures, but from all kinds of lines and properties, so I enjoy mixing and matching as well.
I got the build-a-horse wave for about $60 total. Definitely happy with it, I gave the wave to my toddler for Christmas and she loves to let them take turns riding the horse. And Joker came with a knife to cut watermelon to share with his friends. 😁 Say what you want about McFarlane- many of his DC figures work very well as toys for children. I don’t really consider most of them adult collectibles, so I don’t pay full price if I can help it.
Hey Shiz! Great video as always. Just wanted you to know I'm starting a four part series on Batman TDKR this week and while my approach is different, I didn't want you to think I was trying to steal your video idea! Been prepping this series for a while. Thanks, man! Let's work together soon!
I e had enormous quality control issues with my MAFEX purchases. Not little issues but major things such as broken joints. It looks like perhaps it’s improved in the last few years. I’d consider picking this up based on this review, thanks
I've got 81 Mafex figures and they still sometimes come with some puzzling and sloppy qc issues, which easily could have been fixed. But they have improved a lot over their early years. Even some of my SHF, Revoltech and 3Zero figs have the odd qc issues here and there. My Batman that came with Robin has a poorly painted bat logo and little blue paint splash on his right thigh. My DKR Triumphant figure, which is a lot more detailed, is an absolute flawless work of art though.
Is this a joke🤣 I get it .These type of videos make for interesting and engaging content but yeah come on it's an easy W for Mafex here and it not even close. Still a great video.
I think with a few mods such as the torso articulation, custom wired cape, and a dab of cheap paint on the Mcfarlane figures brings them to the next level and for the price they can’t be beat. The mafex set looks really awesome but I can’t afford that! So Mcfarlane for me all day. Even if I could afford those mafex I think I’d still pick Mcfarlane because they’re readily available and you get way more character selection
Yep love that version of Batman old bat's and has some of the most epic frases in the animated movie yep Have not read the comic just the second part for some reason it end up in my hands, and for the figure this one is cool but 150 bucks is just to much I stick with McFarlane is a little bit off in scale but they are doing their own thing and still is the old bat's now I do regret not getting Robin and joker to build the horse I will hunt for them do, very cool review man thanks for sharing keep on playing, keep on collecting and keep on rockin cheers
The best part of this was hearing the ToyShiz take on his first Mafex! I wasn't interested in TDKR series because I love the Mattel ones. I don't see any need to replace them. As for Mafex tho, I've been selectively collecting the Hush series, and I'm fully in on the Return of Superman series. I'm curious to see if they announce Superboy or Eradicator next.
The Mafex set is nice but no way is it $150 nice. The old man Bruce Wayne head is better on Mattel's version, Carrie Kelley is too small, and the paint isn't much better than the other companies that are way, way cheaper. The capes could be better for the price point as well.

I think mafex are some of the finest figures in the market today
Mafex's DC figures are the best DC figures on the market.
Would love to see you do more of these kinds of in depth comparisons.
Any specific figures you’d like to see covered?

@@zephyrleapold6796right on! how about a Batman Animated over the years vid?
walgreens exclusive? do u mean wal mart exclusive or does wal greens actually sell action figures now?
@@diongeorge5737 Walgreens has had exclusive figures for several years
The mafex is a masterpiece. But the McFartlane is great 👍😅😸
Personally, I am all into the mafex line. They have the detail, the articulation, and the over-all better quality.
Any particular ones you’d recommend?
Cool very cool. Mafex are nice but mcfarlane is unfortunately my budget & majority of my collection. But if price wasn’t aa problem I’d get them
damnnn $150??! i live in asia and a brand new one is just $90. lucky me
It’s a 2 pack
@@ToyShiz yeahh the two pack is just $90 while the single releases are just $60 here lol
@@knightsofsen oh well yeah that’s much better
I like this bulky looking Batman
I should've bought that two pack when I had the chance. We're supposed to be getting more DKR figs from McFarlane.
Is it possible to swap the McFarlane head onto the Mattel body?

I prefer this blue cape, better than the blue one from the Hush one, that es too big

I had mafex pre-ordered but the second mcfarlane announced theirs I canceled the mafex pre-order. Couldn't be happier with mcfarlanes figures!
I have Mattel Dark Knight Returns Batman Unlimited Batman and Mattel DC Multiverse Kelley Robin, they awesome, i love mattel.
McFarlane. They speak for themselves. For accuracy, detail and price. Hands down!!
Couldn't agree more. Don't have any Mafex figures but would definitely have this. Love the accessories
Mafex is the winner
100% agree with you, but it is a good batman and i think it the only place we can get that style of batman

Please do Mafex TDKR Superman next, it's so so good! By far the best one out!

Yea pretty sure Mafex takes it zero difficulty

McFarlane in my opinion is definitely better. In that price point I'm not accepting all those botches hit or miss mafex does.
