    ㅅ and ㅆ are definitely the hardest Korean sounds for me to differentiate.
    Especially on 시 and 씨 they sound so similar.
    Hopefully I will get there one day with practice.

      Yeah, I understand they're hard. Hopefully you can differentiate them soon!

    I had issues with the pronunciation of a few sounds for the last 9 months, no matter which video I watched I got more and more confused. I just watched both of your videos back to back and I understand so much better now. Thank you so much for your hard work

    Luckily for me, my Korean teacher has been trying to learn Croatian, so she can tell me which sounds in Croatian match Korean sounds. To my amazement, I found out that the standard Croatian "S" is closer to a ㅆ. Similar examples are with sounds like p or t- they are like ㅃ and ㄸ, not the simple ㅂ or ㄷ.

      @ConversationalKorean  5 лет назад +4

      Oh, ㅃ and ㄸ are closer to p and t in Croatian! That's a good information for me. Thanks!

    I have watched so many videos about how to pronounce ㄹ , but I never was able to make it work for me. This video however made it very easy to understand! I can finally make a sound that's close to ㄹ. Even though, I will have to practice a lot to make it sound natural. Thank you so much❤

    The first one is pretty easy once you really listen a few times, I don't understand how people can't distinguish the two sounds.

    I’ve been trying hard for a couple years now to get ㅅ/ㅆ correct in quick speech. At this point I’m starting to accept that I’m always going to have an American accent for it and that it will take a long time to perfect lol

    One way you can get better at distinguishing the sounds is to make virtual flash cards with audio and then guess which letter is used. Check out the Korean Pronunciation trainer deck on anki (the flash card system)

    Dont mind me typing notes so i can write them down tomorrow in my book
    when ㄹ comes after ㄴ it will sound more like a ㄹㄹ/L
    example: 논리
    when a vowel comes before and after the ㄹ it will sounds as a slight contact

    I have a question if ㄹ is placed between vowels and the tongue should touch slightly the roof of the mouth, what sound should I make when I slightly touch using my tip of tongue to the roof of the mouth? An L sound?
