The Silver Bayonet is back! Thanks to Author and friend of GMG Christian (Mile) Cameron (christiancameronauthor.com/about-christian-cameron/) we're grabbing our muskets, canoes and bales of pelts and setting off into the western territories of Canada for a four-part Campaign series he's penned! Best battle report ever. Canadian history, monsters, miniatures, grave games... I think even played Mr. Cameron in a game of Frostgrave, once upon a time. Best Battle Report Ever.
"Do well. Act with honor and dignity. Not because there is some promised reward, but because it is the only way to live." My favorite quote from Mr. Cameron's Traitor Son Cycle.
I love what a small world it is. Christian Cameron holds a medieval tournament my reenacting buddy Bob Charette (Author of BattleTech and Shadowrun novels) attends. We all war game too. Nerds of a feather.
Holy crap, I love that dudes books. Always powerfully evocative of the eras they are based on as well as fiercely creative. Ended up gifting my dad each series, I enjoyed them that much, and he really loves them too.
This is great! Just wanted to mention I just re-enter wargaming after a... 25 ich year break with no other than TSB about 2 weeks ago, and got the Canada expansion last week. NS figurines on the way , terrain rough but ready to play and rules 60% assimilated 😀! And all this tks for your channel, which I stumbled across 3 weeks ago! This has now become a family project as well. Thank you!
I dont even play Silver Bayonet but par usual, Ash's content makes it look so much fun! We all need a pleasant affable historian to game with. GMG killing it right now.
So excited for this series - I’ve been watching through all of the original run while putting together a couple of specialist units to drum up local support. Getting to add some thematic Canadian adventures to pair with building my Lower Canada unit is a very welcome treat. Great job on the supplement, Ash - SB: Canada is awesome!
I moved to Canada several years ago and have been DEVOURING Canadian history, literature, and folklore ever since, so this couldn't be more in my wheelhouse. This game and your expansion are both incredible, I'm so excited for the rest of the campaign!
The having to carry bales of furs to prove your strenght, reminds me of Icelands Dritvík stones. That were used to prove you where strong enough to work on a fishing boat. Amlóði weakling - 23kg (50lbs), Hálfdrættingur half-carrier - 54kg (120lbs), Hálfsterkur half strong - 100kg (220lbs), Fullsterkur full strong - 154kg (340lbs). Thats some crazy strenght for those fishermen.
I wasn't really interested in the European setting, but the Canada setting has caught my interest. When you mentioned rumors of supernatural cannibalism in the wilds of North America, I was hoping to see a wendigo, but vampires work too. Maybe one will pop up later on.
Such a cool and very unexpected game to see. Love the narrative and overall rules so far. Looking forward to watching more Canadian goodness on the tabletop! Really enjoyed this one!
I thought that was great to combine the role playing aspects into the game rather than just going for the win. There are some great moments in this game. You could replay the movie Prey with those warbands.
Max Miller's Tasting history channel has a few videos on pemmican. The first, Pemmican: History's Power Bar, goes into the general history. It even touches on the Pemmican War. The second, Rubaboo- Pemmican Stew of Canadian Mounties, goes into other uses later in history. Good stuff. Just a note that pemmican wasn't just a Canadian product, but basically a large chunk of North American indigenous peoples. However, only Canada had a war over it. :-)
Between this playthrough and Tabletop Alchemy's ongoing campaign, Silver Bayonet, the Canadian expansion and Christian's campaign (once it is on his website) will be the next wargame purchase.
Looks like an awesome game would love you to do a battle inspired by The Battle of Queenston Heights or maybe even Lundy's lane type Drummond Hill Cemetery throw down
Super entertaining and a very interesting dynamic between the two of you. Having his mix of "skills" really added to the report. Almost as if it was planned. Good stuff guys.
This campaign looks to good to pass on. You guys are great to watch as you interact with such intensity and sportsmanship. Unfortunately I do not have an opponent for the game. My friends are not into gothic horror and the like. Can you recommend this campaign for solo play? Yers in iron and curr fayced dogges, Dan Two days hard paddle from fort Detroit
Hey Ash, great to see some more silver Bayonet. I wanted to let you know that the links are missing for: "Check out the rules HERE: Grab the expansion for The Silver Bayonet that I wrote HERE: Grab the rulebook for Silver Bayonet HERE: " Dunno if its just cos I'm in Ireland and they only show on canadian videos, but in case you forgot to add them I thought I'd point it out.

I know this whole series will warm my "Holder of a Bachelors degree in Early Colonial and Native American History" Heart.
Best battle report ever. Canadian history, monsters, miniatures, grave games... I think even played Mr. Cameron in a game of Frostgrave, once upon a time. Best Battle Report Ever.
Christian seems like such a pleasant dude to game with. Cool batrep can’t wait for the rest.
Christian Cameron??? I'm a huge fan of The Red Knight and it's great to see him on the channel!
You'll get to see more this weekend! Masters and Mages has been my favourite and I'm reading Artifact Space right now.
"Do well. Act with honor and dignity. Not because there is some promised reward, but because it is the only way to live." My favorite quote from Mr. Cameron's Traitor Son Cycle.
Never thought I’d ever see something like this. 19th century war mixed with gothic horror set in Canada !?!? I’m all in for this
I watched Ravenous and The Terror like three times getting ready for this lol
Christian seems like a delightful gentleman to play games with ^^
In pretty much every way.
I love what a small world it is. Christian Cameron holds a medieval tournament my reenacting buddy Bob Charette (Author of BattleTech and Shadowrun novels) attends. We all war game too. Nerds of a feather.

That’s amazing!
Outrageously cooler to have Christian there, no idea I wanted to know until I found out!

I can already tell I’m going to adore this campaign. Christian was a wonderful guest as well.
Awesome game, Christian is a great guest!
Zeus’s beard! I didn’t realize you were gaming with THAT Christian Cameron. I love both the Tom Swan books and The Long War series! Must… find… tin…
He’s one of my oldest gaming friends. You can tune in to some long form stuff on his writing on Saturday!
What an absolute gentleman Christian is!! I love the way you can now reference 90’s pop culture in like 4 different centuries When he’s on the show!!
That was awesome! I got some Ravenous vibes watching that.
I dont even play Silver Bayonet but par usual, Ash's content makes it look so much fun! We all need a pleasant affable historian to game with. GMG killing it right now.
What a fantasitc idea! Kuddos to Christian for the great work.
This channel is real treat. Every episode, regardless of topic is interesting.

And the fact most of these men were all like 5’6” and 140lbs back then makes it even more insane.

This is a fantastic book! Well done Ash!
Awesome Batrep. I'm definitely going to check out those novels and scenarios
Great battle report. It is awesome to see Christian on the show!
Quick question, where is the Loup Garou werewolf model from?
It’s a Lasting Tales plastic
@@GuerrillaMiniatureGames - Thank you!

Great bat rep. Cant wait to get some of the figs from North Star...and btw Townsends has a great recipe video for making your own pemmican. 😅
Cracking game, so cool we get a copy of the campaign! Great stuff, thanks!
Super cool and narrative story! I hope for Rangers of Shadow Deep as well ;) When we can expect another adventures?
Awesome stuff on every level. Can’t wait to see the rest of this campaign :)
This was great, I can't wait for the next one!

Loved this episode! I’m looking forward to adding Canada to my Silver Bayonet collection.
Really enjoyed the game! Hope to see some of the creatures from the Canada rulebook in future games.....
What great fun! I love that it played out like it did.
Yes more Canadian games!
Between this playthrough and Tabletop Alchemy's ongoing campaign, Silver Bayonet, the Canadian expansion and Christian's campaign (once it is on his website) will be the next wargame purchase.
That was really cool. I’d like to see more of this.

Great video! Those small campaigns are simply tabletop at its best. Great guest too!
This looks like a great series, thank you
I really enjoyed this, looking forward to seeing the next game
Love this, can't wait to see more of the campaign and what other Northern horrors emerge as you progress across the territory!
So awesome! I might have missed it but where did they get that awesome terrain?
Also..+20 points to house GMG for the little canoe at the center of the table in this game...
Werewolf claws should absolutely count as magical. Holy werewolf is neat though.
Great job as always Ash. I can’t wait to pick up this book. Great video and guest
Im so so so heere to geek out on the historical side as much as the game!! Love it❤

You 2 should write a fiction book based on something like this
Are we going to get an interview with Christian? I am fascinated and y'all said you only played 1 game and talked for an entire day.
Two actually!
And we sure can talk…
I just purchased the core rulebook and the Canada book! Looking forward to picking up some models next!
Hey Ash, great to see some more silver Bayonet. I wanted to let you know that the links are missing for:

Nah I’m just a dummy and haven’t gotten to the studio yet to add the links
That was amazing
That was so fun!!!
❤❤❤
Watch the movie, "Ravenous". THAT is Sliver bayonet in The West.
Something's wrong here, Ash. Your leader isn't dead. Are you feeling okay?
Im incredibly nervous about the next three games.
Was wondering when you were going to cover this.
Excellent - I do prefer your hand-held camera view for bat reps. Strangely, I tend not to like that but you've got it down.
Thumbs up if you knew what pemmican was from Rimworld!
Canada edition?!?
Holy cats! Are these the first minis you have ever painted Christian? You did a great job.
Oh no he’s painted thousands.
Where did you guys get that terrain?
It's a variety of paid for, mdf and scratchbuilt or printed stuff. Any particular piece?
@@GuerrillaMiniatureGames I would like to know where the buildings with the interior walls came from if you remember. They are really neat
oh, Yay!
Where can I find the miniatures? I ordered the book today, I have enjoyed your previous game Gamma Wolves.
Mine are a mix of reaper and Firelock!
Silver Bayonet continues to be an absolute cracker i see
That’s what I call a full barrel of Deus Vult 😂
Hey Ash what minis did you use here?
where do the sceneries come from please ?
A mix of MDF kits and home made!
