Ah Mordheim, the game where you're always happy to sell the armors you found ! Gosh, it's so good to see these cardboard ruins and old school miniatures. And it's just part 1 ! You're a greatest legend than Luthor Wolfenbaum, my good sir !
Release the hound! And here comes the Monet🤑 I only played a single campaing of Mordheim, I made a witchunter warband inspired by Mathies Thullman, witchhunter books. My henchmen, Streng, was a terror. The man went into the toughest enemies in every game and refused to die. He only made 3 kills during our whole campaing but he sure could take a punch, in one game he went 5 rounds mano-e-mano with an ogre and lived till the end of the campaing. For once having a rock for brains was an upside 😂
Never thought to glue two of those teeny walkways together 😅 absolutely do a terrain video! This battle shows how brutal Fear can be, the fact that your leader stands there quivering while the Youngblood charges in to get killed is a classic Mordheim moment. Truly leading by example and the moment he went down it was literally giving flashbacks of "here we go again" And for anyone concerned about little rule flubs (Dire Wolf would've killed the knocked down guy, Vampire has 2 attacks on his profile + the dagger 😱), it's just part of playing a ton of different games, I'm sure they will iron out as we get back into the swing of it
Man, this is such a labour of love! I can' wait to get to the other games in the series! Put the base colours down on two metal empire archers as well during this one - great success!
This further cements for me that GW can never 'remake' Mordheim. Lightening in a bottle. I'm sure it's the nostalgia talking but this era (Necromunda, Gorkamorka, Mordheim) was such a great time for games, although I still play Gorkamorka regularly to this day. No such thing as a dead game if you keep playing.
Thank you for bringing Mordheim back to the channel. Love that you use original minaitures and terrain, can’t wait to see more. And yeah, when you fail to stop the Undead from getting closer it’s done…

Aw man, first time I played mordhiem was against the undead. I used the strange happenings table (or whatever it was called) and my warband rocked up to the game hung over...then my warband leader got KO'd by the vampire. My crossbowmen KO'd the vampire, and then proveeded to kill everything else on the table. One guy hot a critical shot and killed two ghouls with one shot. My young blood went insane, the othwr one got sold to the pits. Man that was an incredible campaign...I lost horribly...but my god did I have one hell of crossbow team. Those guys were feared by the end. Everyone else though....yeeeeaaaaah...they did not do well. 😂
This is pretty cool to see. I've been building a board set to play at home. And I've been building either original or proxy models for the original warbands in the first book. Alongside that I'm building some various warbands from the supplemental rules out of Town Cryers and other places.
I was just hired at my first job at an accounting firm in Montreal alas when it came out 25 years ago and I didn't realize at the time a legendary game was out.
I'm so glad I picked up a copy on a closeout table ages ago; all the buildings and sprues are unpunched and on-spure respectively (even the tarot card!) and has the whippy-sticks and dice but missing the books. Still a helluva find and glad I still have it. Count d'Monet...we had one of those in a DnD campaign (was the uncle of the paladin in the party that was the quest-giver).
Good start for the warband! Losing youngbloods is acceptable in this line of business, but losing the leader would mean rebranding of the entire gang! Can't wait to see what happens next. I'm currently playing the undead in a local mordheim campaign and now I feel I need to buy the vampire a bow :D
Absolutely do a terrain video! I recently scored a set of terrain, the book and models on eBay, then immediately went to check out the NEMO event! I absolutely plan to build up the terrain and refurbish it as you have done in this video!! Awesome stuff looking forward to more!
This was arguably my favorite Games Workshop game and setting with only Necromunda in competition for that spot.. I bought it day one, also played the White Dwarf pre release articles and still have the original rulebook. It's time to play it again! Great stuff
I totally agree. I had the most fun playing this game among all of GW’s games, and for reference I started off with WFB in ‘87. There’s a reason why it’s still popular almost two decades after all official support ended.
It speaks volumes for how fun a game is when you have a brilliant time regardless of the result - just as well for Ash really! Love the Mordheim vids, I watched all your old campaigns back when I discovered your channel in 2019, despite never having actually played it myself, precisely because it's such a fun game!
Great battle-rep! I'm pretty sure "for every hero that survived" the game includes the heroes who were out of action but survived. That's why you check the status of out of action models before exploration. Wasn't there a rule that if another enemy model is within one inch, you cannot strike the knocked down model because the model that is not knocked down is the bigger threat?

I ran Mordheim at a summer program for six years - the very best game that GW ever produced. Because of 3D printing, Mordheim has seen a resurgence in my area. Ruined buildings and miniatures from all over the place. Good times, good times!
Idea for a campaign. Start with 250gc (300 for Marienburgs) All warbands start with ‘10 injury points’ to use to +/- to injury rolls- once these ten points are used they are gone forever. This makes early games more fun as your less likely to loose a hero to death, stupidity or leg loss. House rules: Use necromunda parry rule- make attacker re roll to hit. Armours gain extra +1: light is now 5+ heavy 4+ Hand weapon and shield gives extra +1 to armour in combat. Offhand weapons -1 to hit, new skill: ‘ambidextrous’ removes penalties. All warbands may buy the extra mordheim common shop items- rope and hook, garlic ect from the start. Any suggestions? Would love to see this played
The one game that got me into skirmish games , I'm currently working on witch hunters and ho boy , the fluff and character that you can put even in your basic grunts is amazing

Ahh.. game one down, very satisfying. Play all the warbands you say? Oh my, thats potentially a lot of dead warband leaders .. with your reputation, this could get bloody. That alone makes me excited to see how things go, and those infectious manic laughs as thing go bad are like beautiful music to my ears .. I know, its perverse, maybe I've been tainted and warped by those wyrd stones that fell from the sky.
30:57 - The vampire inflicted a S4 hit against the archer. Ash took an armor save and rolled the required '6', but since the Vampire has a S4, that hit was at a -1 saving throw. Ash shouldn't have been allowed a saving throw, and Chase should have been allowed to make an Injury roll on the archer.
It would be a bit like trying to remake Jaws...or The Godfather. If they just re-printed it as-is. Don't update anything. Don't change the cardboard or the rulebook... fine. But I honestly don't think some things should be remade and even then... I don't think you'd get the same response from today's players. It's a verrrrry Millennium game. Still played by Millennium kids. Not to say there isn't an audience for it today, but I think the current Y and Z Audience might expect something very different, like Balance over Vibes.
Great game! I started play at the ripe young age of 50!! I ran my first game at Mage-Con North in Sioux Falls,SD using the rules found in WD. It's hands down the best miniature game ever. I still play it . Thanks for celebrating it on your channel. Go Treasure Hunters!

This is fantastic. Played SO much of this game back when it came out. We would pack half a dozen of us into my tiny appartment and spend hours scouring the ruins of the city. I still say the game is at its best straight out of the box. The supplemental warbands (Town Crier and worse yet White Dwarf) always felt unbalanced and antithetical to the story to me.
I'm planning on selling my original Mordheim buildings. I have one expansion building. Is this the period terrain that is being sought? Love the channel BTW. ❤️
@@GuerrillaMiniatureGames I’m thinking heavily about something that has Orc/kz in and feel something that would fill the space of Blood Bowl leaves me with as I would prefer to see an army of xenos looking for a fight for the purest fun of it; I haven’t played anything but BB in the last ten years or so but previously I had 2nd edition 40k as a teenager that is now older, I feel obliged to make amends for the teenage me who believed that the Emperor was to be the safest and all that dross and drama, very similar to the earnest attitude of any & all teenagers. Sadly I no longer have the boxset with all the Gretchin and Orks in so it’s going to be a slow process to build one, I don’t know if anyone else plays the game. If they do at the local club I might try it out, cheers fella ✌🏽

Having a real hard time coming to terms with that I was 12 when this game came out. What a phenomenal system. Really enjoying this.

Lovely game :). at 29:04. you hit automatically if your opponent is knocked down. So you just need to wound to take them out.

Now That GW has released the Old World, they need to update Mordheim. Or at least re-release it with new sculpts.
