This reaction perfectly encapsulates why his cancer diagnosis was so devastating to us, as a whole nation. This guys is the soundtrack to several generations. His voice is a national treasure, and I feel so blessed to have grown up with it since the day I was born 🫶🏼
My reaction, too, everytime I play the youtube video of John's concert in Melbourne with not only his backing singers and band but also with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and with huge audience participation. Mitch tambo - aboriginal heritage, check him out. Also, look up Icehouse and their song Great Southern Land.
John has always been there for us through all our battles, that’s why he is in all of our thoughts and prayers with his recent struggles.. he is a beautiful soul 😊
John and Olivia were great mates, have been since their 20's. He was devastated when she passed. I think John could still sell out a stadium even if all he did was read the phone book. He is a genuinely great human being.
@@raelenemcbride263 Richard Marx once said publicly that Sam Cook was the greatest singer who ever lived, and that John Farnham is the greatest singer alive today

The indigenous guy was Mitch Tambo. He won Australia’s got talent with his indigenous version of You’re the Voice. John absolutely loved it. And this performance was only a few months before John was diagnosed with mouth cancer from smoking.
Seeing John Farnham and Brian May performing at the same level as before is chilling! This song is such an ANTHEM that I cry every time I hear it. I immediately welled up the same time you initially did. The POWER in his voice at 70!! Sounded just like 30 years ago! Thank you for this.
Actually, John would have still been 70, as this concert was in February 2020, and John's birthday is July 1. And Olivia would have been 71, because she was 73 when she died in 2022.
Thanks, Charlie, for your care and comments on John, recently his son has shared that he is now cancer free and 'singing around the house' so we may yet get a curtain call of his great career

I saw John live in 2019 and he was INCREDIBLE!! A Set of 8 songs as the closing act of the Red Hot summer tour. No banter, just let the music speak. Beyond flawless and with his trusted old band backup singers. So tight and such beautiful energy. He had already been sick and lost a lot of weight, but oh my god!! I had waited many years to finally see him live and was very thankful for the experience. Apparently this was his best night of that tour. Shortly afterwards, lockdown and then the cancer...Cherry on top: I got to meet him backstage! So precious. By the way, what about Tom Jones as a singer who kept his incredible voice into old age?! Jones
I was in those fires and for 4 weeks it looked like nighttime. They still haunt me. Four times we got a text to evacuate, four times the roads out were cut and four times the wind changed when it was almost on top of us. Our only choice was the ocean if it kept coming and so many lost so much or their lives. John always came out for anyone that needed help. He always brought many others with him and Livvie usually came home too. Did you think at 70 he would sound different? He is our Legend for a good reason, a few but his voice and his heart are the top two probably followed by kindness. Thank you. ❤
Charlie I have lost count how many times I have been to Johns concerts they have all ways been amazing. You never go to one and sit in your seat. He has always been there for Australian people in crisis.fire drought floods and armed forces. I love him to bits ,still wishing him lots of get well thoughts and blessings 🙏🙏🙏
Your reactions bring light and soul into the world Charlie! So much genuine emotion and joy! I freaking LOVE them! This was a truly special concert; John has always been so giving of his time and talent and I hope we get to hear him sing again one day. 💚🇦🇺
Ok that singer was Mitch Tambo and was definitely sung in aboriginal language. Yes John is definitely just as good at this age. He never ceases to amaze me and yes I am so happy to know his health is much better. I just love him and have done since the beginning of his career.
No matter what age, John is epic. With all the belting and endless vocal range I always wondered how John didn’t blow his voice out and as we can hear he’s still got it. John is a one of a kind, always pitch perfect, even in live performances, where you only have one take, no auto tune, no tricks, it’s just John and his magnificent voice.
The word legend gets tossed around a lot, John Farnham is the real deal, a true Legend. All Australians are proud & truly grateful for this man’s talent.
Mitch Tambo is from my area which is Tamworth in New South Wales. The traditional owners of this land here the Kamilaroi people and their traditional language is Gamilaraay. Its even taught here in our local schools from 2 and 3 year old throught to High school to keep the culture alive.
Love your reaction Charlie, as always. I was so fortunate to be there, an RFS firefighter, and witness our beautiful John and Olivia. Incredible! Not forgetting Mitch Tambo.
The young indigenous bro, Mitch, appeared on a talent show (The Voice would you believe). He caused a bit of a sensation, and here he is with The Voice and the great Brian May! Must have been pinching himself.

Oh Charlie, you make me tear up too. The equally amazing thing is how John keeps being ' just an Aussie bloke' despite all the successes over the decades.
You should check out "We will Rock you" at the Hay Mate benefit he was 70 then too. Finished his 5 song set with " long way to the top" and still sounded absolutely amazing
That just broke me, seeing them honour the firefighters like that. As an Australian who has lived through this time and seen the devastation caused by the fires, it utterly broke me. Thank you John, thank you Olivia, thank you Mitch, thank you Brian, and everyone else who put that moment in time together.
I live in NZ, Australia is known for the best musicians and singers. We just don't tell them that, we're still bangin on about our cakes they stole. Love your work❤
So many special aspects to this performance. This was just before the start of the pandemic when of course the whole world changed and was Olivia’s final public performance (and to this date, John’s too). It occurred in Sydney’s huge Olympic Stadium, almost 20 years since the two performed at the Olympic Opening Ceremony together.
It's also amazing that on top of still being able to belt, he is also still singing in the same key. I've noticed so many artists in their later years drop the key for obvious and understand reasons, not John!
Charlie I just love you…you are so open with your feelings…absolutely agree with you about John sounding so good at that age…we’ve been so spoiled having John here always…also such a great guy with giving his time to all causes
What a treat!!! Jon Farnham's voice sounds really strong ,amazing. I love how music makes you so happy and emotional, that's what make your channel enticing. Good job buddy..
You should check out John’s Man of the Hour tour documentary. John is 65 at this concert and he still sounds fabulous. It’s great to compare songs like Help & You’re the Voice among others to earlier concerts. This man is one of the greatest singers/entertainers of all time.
Thank you for your great reaction Charlie. Yes I love this incredible performance and special Fire-Fight concert memory, to acknowledge all the amazing work done by our largely, volunteer Fire-fighters, Rescue Teams, Community Aid workers, plus Vets and Wildlife carers.
I saw the emotion in your eyes Charlie and each time I listen to him sing this I feel the same. The moment the firefighters came on stage it was too late to stop the tears. I met John and singer Alison Durban in Perth during a telethon in the early 70’s when I was only 15 and even after all this time I’m still amazed at how giving of his time he is. A great talent
This was very special, all money raised went to fire victims etc.,God bless the fantastic people who put this together and the fire fighters who risked their lives. 💖✌️
This brought tearstomy eyes for so many reasons. In 2019 my country was burning. No words can praise the fire-fighters enough, but it also reminded me of all the enjoyment both John and Olivia have given us. Big shout out tooth Bryan May and first nations performance, xx
Love the reaction as always Charlie this is extra special as it was the last performance of Olivia Newton John and John Farnham and the last event that Glen Wheatley was side stage with John before he died of COVID complications an amazing legacy
He is amazing and he lives up to The Voice title.... I saw him live many years ago in a small setting of around 100 ppl my hubby took me to see him for our anniversary it is one of my memorable moments as I lost my husband and it was before having our 3 daughters.. He has won his fight with cancer and is doing well and even thinking of making a new album.. thanks for your reaction i enjoyed it very much you nearly made me cry haha!
Yes I have said this many times that John is a phenomenal artist and his voice just got better with age. You should check Mitch Tambo as he sang “your the voice” as his audition piece for your the voice Australia and you can really here his native language. That was an amazing concert that raised a lot of funds for the bushfire relief. Great reaction as always Charlie💕
Mitch actually debuted his version of You're the Voice during the semi-finals of AGT in 2019, and he was given the golden buzzer by Natalie Bassingthwaite.
Firefight Australia ran in Feb 2020 for 10 hours broadcast on tv. Queen with Adam Lambert was there preforming their exact same set at what they did at Live Aid (hadn’t done it again before this concert) and as always John was the last act in front of 75,000 people in Sydney!! Lucky it happened then because two months later the “thing” happened and there were lockdowns all over the world! 😢
Mitch Tambo is an aboriginal man who auditioned for Australia's Got Talent a number of years ago. He chose "You're the voice" to audition with and floored the judges and the crowd with his arrangement. It went viral and John saw it. Next thing I see is the 2 of them collaborating, this performance being one of them. I'd recommend searching for the AGT audition, it's phenomenal.
Have a look at John and Olivia singing Dare to Dream on their Two Strong Hearts tour in 2015. They first sang this song at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Their voices were still amazing.
And its a hard song to sing at the best of times let alone at 70 and still reach those notes effortlessly. This is why he is the voice..the greatest singer I will ever hear in my lifetime. If you have never seen him live then you have missed out as he is one of the rare ones who sound even better live and gives 💯all the time. A true Aussie legend in all ways.
singing at 70 how most people could only dream of sounding in their prime!! The GREATEST!!! ❤️❤️ This was likely his last ever public singing appearance 😢😭
For anyone looking at this now. We are having yet again horrendous bush fires now 28.02.2024. Today is very hot and the fires will get worse. Charlie now you really see why he is called the voice :)
Hi Charlie, There is only ONE singer/songwriter I adore more than John, Brian May and our Darling Olivia, he's one of your 'mob' does the name Sir Paul McCartney ring a bell ? LOL Like has been said on here so many times, I love the way you allow us to see your real emotions 🥰
Definitely agree about Paul McCartney. He recently toured Australia and was well received. And yes, at 81 years of age now, Paul still sounds as strong as he always has.
If you think about it Charlie, John hasn’t abused his voice much over the decades. He’s done some screaming but mostly he’s relied on a very strong, natural voice.
Mitch Tambo is a proud Gamilaraay man. His voice, presence and spirit is incredibly. I was at this concert and was so blessed to see John and Mitch share that stage. ❤
This performance brings me to tears every time, and now seeing your appreciation of it, and seeing your tears, has me sobbing. John is a truly beautiful human being and so are you, Charlie. Thank you for this wonderful reaction. xxxx
Mate, I was there, and this was amazing. His whole set was legendary. It sounded exactly like the recordings. This was the conclusion of the night and we were READY for it. I did the double-header of Queen+Adam Lambert on the Saturday night and Fire Fight on Sunday. I was exhausted afterwards and had no voice for a week, but it was completely magical. It feels so surreal that only a couple of weeks later we were all locking down...
Charlie, my reaction to John's voice at 70 was just like yours, I got chills, tears in my eyes, and was speechless for several seconds. It was an AMAZING performance by all. You express your feelings so much better than most, I love your reaction videos!!! The first one I saw you on was Adam Lambert-Who wants to live forever." When I saw how you weren't afraid to show your emotions, I fell in love with you! No, I won't stalk you, I am a 70 year old grandma in the States, but I am a fan of yours for life! John Farnham and Adam Lambert are two of my favorite singers. The third is Tommy Johansskon from Sweden, please check him out as well. Fondly, Sue from Wisconsin
This made me cry like a baby! I saw John play a full gig in 2018 and he sang exactly the same as he did when I'd seen him 10 years before. Daryl Braithwaite who was also on the bill and is great, but definitely wasn't able to hit all the notes the same as he used to. When John came out though, it was like listening to one of his albums. Nailed every note. Incredible! This was such a special performance too with Mitch Tambo bringing his beautiful culture and of course the lovely Olivia. And Brian May, I mean, insane talent pool there. Thanks Charlie!
We are so blessed to always be given the opportunity to listen to John, even if he never sings again, we are still blessed. Thank you & God bless you John!
If John never sings again we have wll have is amazing music and videos to enjoy. After Freddie passed Sir Brian May and Roger Taylor asked John to be their frontman for Queen but he said no as he didn't want to leave his family in Australia.
That was s truely wonderfull performance of your the voice. It should also be noted the guys & girls at the front in rhe yellow green & red clothes were some of our AMAZING ❤ volunteer fire 🔥 fighters who had actually been at the front of the fires 🔥 god bless them one & all ❤❤❤❤😊
He loves volunteering for charities
I love how you love our John ❤

Johns voice never gets old literally 👍😃🇭🇲🇭🇲😎😎🦘🦘
I feel you man
I live 😂Sydney Australia and am super proud of these fine Aussies ❤
Been a fan since 80'. Also loves songs by The Little Riverband with John. One of the best voices in the world
Mate, I was there, and this was amazing.
Yes mitch tambo translated into his dialect. Hundreds of indigenous dialects
The indigenous singer is the fabulous Mitch Tambo.
John wasn't the only 70yr old Australian singer still at the top of her game....Judith Durham was still able to sing,as always, like an angel.
Amazing for his age. Tom Jones can still belt it out at 80. Mitch Tambo is the indigenous performer.
Love this song....John is such an icon!! A true legend
You should listen to John sing We Will Rock you at 70 years of age.
Yeah… this is goosebumps on another level ❤
Glad you enjoyed it bro. Yeah I'm a big John Farnham fan after being introduced to him through my channel. Unbelievable artist
