    I loved both versions. I’ve only down the coasters, but they would be cute wall hangings too!

    I made the scalloped placemat in a pastel cotton.
    It’s lovely.
    I am going to make more in other pastels for my dining room table!

    Such a cute place mat. The promo for Hello Fresh is so cute. I have tried it, but doesn’t work for my husband and I right now. Our daughter uses it and loves all the meals she has received, and the recipe cards are great.

      Thank you so much Daniela! It's good to hear your daughter enjoys HelloFresh too! We've been loving the meals we've gotten but understand it may not work for everyone. Thanks for much for your comment! 💛

    I saw your coasters on IG and loved them. When I went to you tube I saw the place mat, of course I had to do it. The instructions were great, easy to follow. But yours is so flat, how did you that? Mine is curling like a bowl and I don’t know what to do. Would you have time to help me?

    • @TheTurtleTrunk
      @TheTurtleTrunk  Год назад +1

      Hi! So happy you like them! If yours is curling the first thing to check is to make sure your stitch count is correct and you're not skipping any stitches. If the stitch count is correct, then your tension may just be a little too tight, which would pull the stitches, making them curl. You can try to loosen your tension or going up a hook size. Hope that helps!

      Thank you so much for responding!!!
      I guess I do crochet a bit tight, I’m on my 12th row so there’s no way I’m going to take it out. I’m going to make it bigger and will relax my stitches. I love your patterns!!!

    Which other cotton can i use for this placemat if not the ones u suggested? I have lots of cotton yarn

    • @TheTurtleTrunk
      @TheTurtleTrunk  2 года назад

      If you’re going to add fringe, you’ll want to use a stiffer and stringier Cotton and a super soft cotton may get fluffy when you brush out the fringe. If you are going to do the pointed border or no border you can use any cotton yarn!

    • @Value1lady
      @Value1lady 2 года назад +2

      @@TheTurtleTrunk ok so a stringer cotton yarn for the whole thing including the fringe and if just the pointed border then any kind of cotton yarn right?

    • @TheTurtleTrunk
      @TheTurtleTrunk  2 года назад +1

      Correct! The fringe is the only thing where the type of cotton will matter. The rest of the placemat and the pointed border will work with anything. Because the fringe gets brushed out, softer cottons will fray and fluff. Hope that makes sense!

      Is the placemat supposed to be flimsy? I am using walmarts 100% cotton yarn or am I supposed to be using a different cotton? Im still mew at this crocheting stuff. Lol.

    I don't understand why you are saying double crochet into (example in the next 5 stitiches then double crochet into the next stitch). Why not just say double crochet into the top of the next 6 stitches then fpdc around the fpdc?

    • @TheTurtleTrunk
      @TheTurtleTrunk  2 года назад

      Hi Dorthy! It's just to help people understand that the DC and FPDC are going to be worked into the same stitch
