Yea but that’s what kinda makes it suck. That’s why single player rpgs are usually better than mmos because the combat isn’t so repetitive. This game would have been amazing if the combat was less mmo styled. But if you enjoy the slow paced abilities based combat than this is definitely the game for you. I’ve just played to much darksouls and nioh so the combat in this is pretty meh for me. I have more fun exploring than fighting enemies.
@@joshwaterman5526 To be fair, those are hybrid rpgs, if they can even be called rpg. If you want to speed up the combat lowering the difficulty should lower the enemies health pool. I haven't looked at it but you can customize the difficulty more than just easy/hard, be worth a look. Classically speaking, this is a true rpg experience with mmo elements. The distinguishing factors between rpg and mmo, aside from the obvious player count, is typically mission structure. Mmo will typically have you collecting multiple items or dispatching a number of mobs that continually spawn. Whereas a standard rpg will give you a task and multiple ways you accomplish said task while having consequences for said actions. Example, classic rpg: Mission: Break Bill out of jail, integrate him to find out where he stashed the loot after the heist. Objective: Get the key from the jailer. @@SiCSpiT1 in other words, MMOs are typically cash grabs for companies with never ending fetch quests and mobs of enemies you can dispatch over and over.
i really love the tarot card art in this game. such master class art. this game always have a special place in my heart i don't care what others think.
Tip: Just to the Important sidequest and companion quest. Don't do the collectables as its not worth it. And get out of the Hinterlands when you can. Also Get the 3 DLC's its good.
But I have OCD. I remember the first time I played , I was getting really bored cuz I was trying to check every task off every area. I can’t help myself . I’m re playing through the whole series at the moment. So I will try to take this advice
@@92jdeg I have OCD too bro, I love RPG's but I'm of those guy who really need to do all the quests it doesn't matter if it worth it or not I will do all the quests because if I feel I miss something I will start a new character if the game have differents finals I will unlock all of them with a different class, everything need to be "perfect" lol I know you will understand.
The Hinterlands aren't that big, you can do a half before Val Royeux where you help the people there with getting food, warm blankets, driving the templars and mages away and talking to Dennet at least. Then after Val Royeux you can do the rest of small quests and especially the farm part where Dennet needs you to help everyone. After that get Iron Bull and kill the dragon. The mosaics aren't really the most important, nor the bottles of thedas, but collect all of the shards, they will help with reaching certain rooms in which you will gain permanent boosts for your character.
I started replaying this game in May. I'm still going, 150 hours later. It is an incredibly humongous game and if you really want to look around and explore, it is a lot of extremely enjoyable content. I am happy I found this video today and I am VERY happy I started replaying in May.
I installed three mods and game became incredible. The first mod removes the gathering animation, the second increases amount of materials found in chests, crates, dead bodies etc, and the third increases amount of materials gathered in strategy missions on the table. This three mods removes the grind for resources, and you can gather resources on the go without stopping on animation.
i actually love how some of the big maps in inquisition are actually more like sprawling dungeons where you have to complete a big quest in order to be able to fully explore the area. Like the beacons in the swamp
Honestly, its more than just decent. Decent makes it sound like a 6 or 7/10. Like Watchdogs 2 or AC etc, DAI is no where near these games. Its a lot better.
@@einstien2409 yass, true, in some aspects of immersiveness of story, it is still a better choice than any game where you can create your own character, maybe not better than Origins, but the franchise, along with this game strongly, paves the way for new games of this type.
@@artorhen exactly. The story isnt as good as origins but its still a very very good game on its own rights. The story is worse but far better than most, the open world, side quests little details, characters are all top of the class good. Not Origins good but extremely good. It very well deserved the Game of the Year award at games awards and very well deserved all those 150 awards it won.
I wonder what your take is on voiced vs. silent protagonist? I think DA:I is a prime example of how to do it right. It had four distinct voicec to choose from and all were surprisingly good. It greatly enhanced the immersion for me and made the dialogue actually engaging. I never had that feeling in games like skyrim... Silent protagonists feel so unnatural to me.
Even though I prefer silent protagonist, because I like to envision how my character sounds, I actually really like how Inquisition pulled it off. Like I said, the voice acting is amazing all around, and I played a male and a female character just to experience different voices.
@@leguisioso688 each gender has 2 voices you can pick from I like to call them: The American and the British One sounds very in your face and strong willed The others sounds like a more gentle or easy going person It works pretty well
Just beat the main game for the first time, gonna start the dlc soon. I wasn’t into RPGs when this game was released, glad I got this for 5 dollars lol
The story for me was the strength of themes as opposed to strength of the primary events. Yes it's kind of lame you get all the power from the get go, but not deserving the Hero title was the point of the story from the beginning. There is a dissonance between reality and history and your Character is literally it's personification. From the beginning you know the end, you will kill the bad guy and save the world. Your only real freedom comes from interpreting the world around you. Who is Good or Bad? Mages? Templars? The DIvine? The Gods? The Nations? The Races? It's hard to make decisions because so much of what you learn are lies, embellishment, or opinion. Even as you create history the exact same thing happens to the Inquisitor in real time. It's honestly a real thinker and is executed well. I also take Issue with your observation of Cole as being unrealistic. It's a fantasy world and Cole is an anomaly of an anomaly. Still his importance thematically can't be understated, you spend 2 games thinking you know all the important things about demons and the fade, but then Cole strolls into the game and reminds you that everything you know is incomplete or even completely false. Anyway those are my thoughts while listening to your review. Thanks for sharing, the game is great, despite the grindy elements.
*SPOILERS* Also Cole threw in the huge lore twist that if he was a spirit that manifested and took human form, is that how other life forms formed. I love that about this the game, the lore is soo good.
I actually miss the random events that would occur during the map travel loading screens in Origins and DA2. Was surprised when they didn't make it into DAI, seemed like one of the signature mechanics of the DA series.
I started playing this game for the fisrt time recently and i loved it. Finished the main quest spending 85 hours and right now I'm going for the dlcs! Awesome crafting system. If you love to dig on the crafting, play on higher dificulties.
I originally placed Dragon Age Inquisition ost, but I had to remove it, because EA copyright claimed the video. The copyright claim was aimed at the trailer footage, and not the ost, but I had to make sure it won't happen again. So yea, Risen 1 ost it is 😂
I think I was too hard on this game at release. It was too different from the previous games in the series and I must have developed a pretty strong bias because of that. But I'm going back to it now in 2020 and its really gripping me. There was so much love and care put into this game I ignored at release.
Same here I waited a year before playing because it wasn't like the previous games but I am glad I picked it up and have always returned for 5 years. The game to me just never gets old😊
Recently started a second playthrough to play the DLC's. Havent touched it since release. I am at 30 hours now, and I now understand why I felt so disconnected to it. The War table, the need for useless Power to progress in the story and the meaningless empty side quests is a cocktail that gradually wears me down. To progress to a certain story, I had to collect 40 power, and I had 0 because I decided to avoid almost all side quests. I hate such barriers that slows down progression. This has led me to doing quests in god awful Hinterlands, Storm Coast and the desert for 2+ hours just to progress story. Ugh. Regretting not using my old character now, but had forgotten almost all about the story. DA:O is my favorite game of all time, but sadly the franchise turned away from what made that game a masterpiece.
I mean. Power is so easy to gain I really don’t get what you’re talking about at all there 🤔 if you want to play the game, (if you really don’t like it don’t) doing the “main side quest” for each area, companion quests and setting up camps should get you more than enough power. Timed war table missions are annoying, that is fair
@@ducky36F I do not say its difficult to gain power. It is just tedious and god awfully boring. The side content in this game compared to DA:O is so uninteresting and without any engaging story, that 30 mins of grinding feels like 2 hours. But I have grinded 55 power now, so hopefully the biggest grind is over.
@Hannah Banana Yeah I know what you mean. I do not mind side quests in RPGs. Sometimes side quests are the most Interesting parts of some games. Bioware just missed the mark in that regard for this game. If they had nailed that, I think the game could have been a masterpiece :)
To be honest, I feel like Inquisition was actually a lot more creative with the concept of open world compared to all of the games that already created a lot of "set in stone" rules. However, a big part of open world game have multiple maps that are accessed through the map and the logic behind it is that you visit different continents or cities, which is a way of switching between maps, creating the illusion that the places in the games are bigger than they are, and we are a lot more used to that kind of illusion that any different one would perhaps seem confusing due to being different, but the way Bioware turns the introduction to different maps through the war table is actually extra work, and so is Skyhold, where you spend time with the characters and it makes the whole leading the inquisition more immersive. The whole idea of the protagonist that winds up as a hero from the start will seem shallow at first, but it is actually very well thoughtout in the story, and it is actually a really cool perspective and somewhat different from a regular hero story, as all of your choices will change your outcome and reputation, and it actually explores the idea of temptation for power which you experience firsthand, by being in power and being put there randomly, which is also due to a part of the story that is about how people react in dire situations and based on your choices again, you can turn it into a good thing, or make it a bad thing. I try not to spoil too much of the story, but it is very well thought out and the fact that it looks bright and may seem shallow at first glance is exactly the trap the game wants you to fall into in a way.
Yeah, DA2 gets a lot of flak, mostly because they recycled assets throughout the entire game and altered the tactical combat. I thought the combat worked well as it seemed really punchy and visceral, and the characters and quests, for the most part, were quite well written. Visiting the same areas over and over again, with different doors opened and pot plants in slightly different places -- that was pretty cheap, but I enjoyed the experience overall.
Bro, jako mi je krivo sto kanal nije veci, ali hvala bogu ima vremena, odicno radis, bas obozavam da gledam tvoje review-ove! Kudos to this hard working fella, I'm enjoying this videos so damn much, deserves a lot lot more views, but I believe in this CHAD! Continue your hard work man, you're awesome!
Inquisition is one of of my favorite games, def top tier for me. The characters, art design, music, ambience, visuals, lore, so good. Story and quest design had a lot more to be desired but the narrative that Trespasser set up for IV, man
Less so to do with lazyness and more to do with bad time management and overall ineptitude from bioware higher ups. Love them but its pretty well documented they always had pretty chaotic production schedules and rely on "bioware magic" AKA crunching the fuck out of their employees to make it all come together in the last two weeks. The amount of deleted content in their games proves it. From cutting massive amounts of content from kotor 2 to throwing together half an ending for mass effect 3, to spending 5 years on that hot garbage anthem. Its a 20 year theme at this point. Just pissing away resources, time and energy isnt going to work in the modern game market. The release of Andromeda was them learning the hardway and anthem was the point being powerbombed home that its not attainable anymore. Like I said i love bioware and have played most of their tittles, but that shit has long sinced stopped being "lovable" and if they dont nail DA4 i wouldn't blame EA for pulling the plug.
Cim sam cuo naglasak odmah sam morao da proguglam malo o tebi i ono stvarno nas covek: "D. Svaka cast buraz, odlican i detaljan review, uzimam igricu sigurno posle ovoga. Pomogao si, nemas pojma koliko, hvala puno! And btw ,love the way you say inquisition: 'D
While this is true I have beat the game many times it’s not difficult, while Inquisition takes a lot longer and the 2nd game is easily the worst in the series, at least in my opinion
This game still holds up by todays standards for sure, loving my 4th play through currently. The GOTY addition is currently £6.50 on the Xbox UK store, so a great time to get the DLCs at a steal!
Great video. COMPLETELY forgot about this game after getting my xbox one a couple years after launch. Couldn't think of a good fantasy rpg to play and remembered how badly I wanted to play this when it released originally. The graphics are still absolutely amazing. The materials look so spot on. Metal especially.
I gotta say. I bought the deluxe edition at GameStop for 11 dollars like 2 months ago and this game has me seriously addicted. It’s like Skyrim but your character actually has a personality and the world is fucking massive. Loving the game so far and I can make my character look sick as hell. Edit. I also played thru both siding the mages or the templars and it’s amazing to me how different the story is there. Amazing replay value.
The whole series is worth playing. Well maybe not the 2nd game depending on who you are. But origins is a masterpiece and inquisition isn't bad at all. Favorite series of all time.
Origins is one of my favorite all time games and I think the large changes they implemented were flawless. I think the advancement in technology to actually make these games perfectly lined up with BioWare’s releases of these games. First game was an astounding storyline and experience, however combat could seem slow. The second showed how they improved the combat, however the backgrounds and repetitive room structures made it lackluster on the impact of the mid-game story. Then inquisition... has so many hours of amazing original lore and quests that add to the world building tremendously, and the combat is the best the franchise has ever produced. I believe if you were invested in Dragon Age Origins for the story and world that they created, inquisition is a fantastic installment in the series. All my opinion, but if you read this far, thanks haha!! Love the video and the game!
It's my first Dragon Age game too, uh just got into it 2 days ago. Didn't play much cuz I'm not a fan of the party system. Hmmmmm. Update : I'm hooked lol. The party system is kinda burdening because you have to manage multiple characters(skills & build at the very least) but it's better than fighting alone. I'm also easily familiarizing with the game, rarely do I find myself stuck with the mechanics or what to do next. Plus, the combat system is quite fun IMO. But yeah, only downside is I wished we didn't have to manage each character in the party.
6:24 How is this a problem when you only get items, weapon modifications, etc from those long quests? You can instantly unlock other maps and story required missions, if you have enough power. If you can't wait for a jar of bees or a Bianca modification, then get yourself a mod that disables the timers and that's it.
I actually started the series with this game. I've been playing backwards ever since, and gotta say its hella interesting to experience all the choices and game play changes in reverse. Def love the fighting in 3 but 2 has a interesting style, (finding that I miss the magic options from 2 in number 3 lol) and the origins are a bit tough since its a bit clunky- but I am powering through the history books on this lore now! lol great fun all around
I hope 4 turns out well but I personally have low expectations. Bioware isn't what it was when even inquisition was being made. A lot of people have left and their last couple games are notoriously bad.
There is a heal kind of spell, but it's more of a hail mary, it's in the spirit category and it's named 'revival' I found it helpful when going after major bosses to have two mages that both have this ability
Dragon Age Inquisition is one of my favorite games of all time. I've put so many hours in. There's so many styles of play, 3 classes, 9 specialist classes, many options for story direction based on your decisions. Good stuff.
I purchased this not too long ago in the Playstation Store for like $10. I played the first 4 or 5 hours and put it down. I just couldn't get into it for some reason. Applying skills was confusing and exploring this region just to have a cow follow me back to a ranch was boring. lol I quit. I did try tho. Maybe i'm missing out on something?
Try out Kingdoms Come Deliverance it's hard at first and I strongly recommend going on normal att first but once you learn about the combat fully it's grear
KC:D is such a treat of a game. Everything about your character means something. From how well he fights, to how he dresses and how he even smells. Try going around mid-game wearing no shoes, no armor, covered in blood and mud, always drunk, never bathed. You go from being everyone’s buddy, to no one even acknowledging you.
I have played multiple characters and probably have 300+ hours in this game. I have gotten every achievement except for a few very specific trials. I still haven't explored everything and still feel like a complete noob even though I can kill everything. This game is well worth your time and money. You may get frustrated by some of the systems to unlock things or areas but it's not the worst thing in the world.
Gotta say I played this when it came out at the ripe age of 15 enjoyed it I guess, but only played the main missions and then got annoyed when I had to get power to progress, but ive been replaying it recently almost 7 years on and I love it, I'm more patient now so I've been doing everything and I'm loving it! Taking my time with it, figuring out how to actually do things, I actually figured out to specialise my character this time thanks to Google, rogue tempest, I'm so pissed I missed this when it came out
I'm playing it right now just finished the main story now I'm working my way around Jaws of Hakkon then next is trespasser I'm playing as a Qunari Blood Mage already have Josephine in my grasps! 😂
I feel like I am one of the only people that like voiced protagonists in RPGs, but I see them more as a character I create rather than my own thing. I see the point of why people like silent, but I just have a problem with immersing myself with a character that doesn't say a single word other than grunting. I enjoyed Origins immensely, but it was the only thing I didn't like in the game, where I completely loved the voice acting of Hawke in the Dragon Age 2. I especially love the fact that the voice actor for Specialist Samantha Traynor from ME3 was one of the protagonists voices in Inquisition, so kind of had to use her voice.
You actually can use potions when pausing the game. Just select them while in tactical view, and it will queue them as the characters' next action when you unpause or advance the time.
I'm playing Dragon's Dogma right now, and I'm loving it, so when I finish that play through I think I'll try Inquisition. I figured I'd try another game that slipped through the cracks for me somehow, and I love RPG's in general, so hopefully this game clicks with me.
@@jellyfishtrifle7883 Yes, and it's amazing. I just hope they make a sequel, I know it's been rumored, but that would be one of my most anticipated games ever.
Beginning of lockdown in April I decided to do another run of the series. Started with Inquisition because that was the only one I wanted to play. Later did Origins and 2. I spent the most time in Inquisition. Mostly to get a good world state for 4. Two playthroughs back to back (wanted to do nightmare and different choices after). In total had about 250 hours . 200 in one and 50 in another. Now I started another one to get 100% trophies today (since the other playthroughs were on Xbox). It's not amazing. But definitely worth it. I just enjoy the world of it. Had fun.
You have alot of time to play these Dragon Age rpgs several times. I can't focus on a single game in my collection. I cycle through FPS, racing, kart racers, and fighting games. I was playing Elder Scrolls online for a few weeks after work then stopped. Today I bought DA:I for cheap. I will have to squeeze this in to my life lol but I loved Dragon's Dogma prior to ESO.
@@Flying-Fox19 Man, that month my work was closed, I got so much shit done in games. DOOM Eternal came out the day my work shutdown. 100% the game in a few days. Even now I'm considering playing through the series again since it got a fps boost on Xbox series x. On PS5 inquisition doesn't run that great. It's like Mass Effect, I've played it so many times in the last ten years, that when the Remaster of the trilogy came out this past May I blasted through each game 100% and getting the plaltinun for each. For a total of 70 hours played across the 3. I even got through the Yakuza series for the first time that year. Haven't done that many singleplayer games in years. But like I said, the month of April 2020 was both good and bad time for my time. Real late nights (more like early mornings) gaming, wake up late as hell in the afternoon. Screwed up my sleep and shit. Working at a restaurant where only that summer we could serve clients in restaurant, otherwise from May, June, then October all the way to May of this year we were only doing takeout. So my time was alot more "free" even though I probably was working alot more. It was more free time because there was nothing else you could do here. Québec was pretty much closed down for almost a year.
@@SirBigWater Wow, that is the story of your life for the past year year and half. I know the restaurants suffered greatly during pandemic. Glad you gamed the hell out of it and enjoyed. One day I can do what you do but no late nights into morning 😕😑
Found the game in the return section at EB games just before pandemic (I think), and it was a lot of fun to play. First time playing any Dragon Age and I loved it!
Recently discovered that crafting high level armor (23) and being level 12 I cut through The Descent like they were butter until I got to the Tal Vashal. They were tough but still way easier than at a level equal to my equipment, since I had leveled up and my gear didn't, it got tougher every level up. I am a rogue archer though, not sure a melee char. would do as well. I really love this game.
i might pick it up again since its on sale at the moment and we're locked in our houses anyway. I liked it on the ps4 and replaying it with 60 fps on pc seems very tempting. The highly colorful style was actually my favorite thing about it but thats just my personal opinion.
I'm really glad I found this video. I still have an xbox360, and decided to finally get into the dragon age series. DA:O was really good, but I still never got why it was so praised for being a 10/10. DA2 was undoubtedly my favorite. The characters won me over, and I absolutely loved learning way more about the dragon age world through its troubles with mages and templars. DA2 obviously had its downside though when it came to them reusing maps and absolutely having no gear or loot to choose from, but the story blew me away and got me through tough times. DA:I though is a completely different story. The graphics really blew me away, I also couldn't believe it came out 2014, and the characters much like the previous games gave me high Hope's. But the story felt lazy and forced. And I literally have more love for my skyrim character then my inquisitor. My inquisitor just never loses. Hawke and the grey warden from previous games sacrificed Alot to get where they were, only to have my character pop up out of nowhere at the right time and get an army and the trust of important figures. Throughout the whole thing my character didnt feel like a real person, if that makes sence. And dont get me started on the scene where we choose who we leave in the fade. They let me meet my most favorite characters once again, only for me to choose who should be sacrificed. And after you sacrifice one of em, literally no one ever brings them up again. It's like "oh, the champion that everyone looks up too is dead? Oh no, anyways."
I actually really wish the Jaws of Hakkon wasn’t level gated... I think that area pretty much has the all the good stuff DAI has to offer in it and I’d recommend people try that and decide if they want to keep going after if they could. But alas a major problem with this game is that if it doesn’t click with you, you’d have to play it for hours to get to the best parts
Maybe because Jaws of Hakkon have the best materials of all areas. 2 types of Tier 4 Metal, 2 types of Tier 4 Cloth and 1 type of Tier 4 leather. So it is a "end game" open area. But I like The Descent and Trespasser even more.
I really liked this game's story and setting. But it was a bit to grindy and mmo-like for my taste. That holds me back a bit for installing and replaying it again.
Love the point about Bioware bringing these characters to life, they really do make you feel like you have a personal connection with each character. And since you can swap your party out for different characters, you can replay the game multiple times with different interactions between your party members for a completely new experience. I picked this game up on a whim with no previous experience with the series on boxing day 2014 because there wasn't really anything else I wanted to play and I was totally blown away. Incredible characters, story, gameplay, and graphics which have all stood the test of time. If you haven't played it yet, don't hesitate to pick it up!
Exceptional game! looking forward to Dragon Age 4 also Inquisition I've sapped 432 Hours on multiple play trough's into it a must play in my opinion. Just hope they keep the Dragon Keep concept in for DA4 to spice things up with new content and upgrades to ones keep. x)
Dragon Age Inquisition has excellent story and character development and I can't wait for the next one! (Though I have to admit, DA2 was better in the character development aspect) has pretty boring gameplay at higher difficulties. Like, it doesn't feel satisfying when you kill a boss cause all they have is higher dmg and def, the ai doesn't get smarter though some get new abilities. I highly recommend to people who loved Origins to play 2&3 at least once. Or people who just love RPGS. (Even if you heard bad things about the 2nd, I did and still loved it- the gameplay and setting is a bit bland and repetitive though but definitely play for the character relationships and conflicts).
Love origins but da2 and inquisition just suck so badly. never were able to finish them. How people can enjoy such cringe history telling and characters is beyond me but oh well. I guess thats why we have zoomers, wokeism and fortnite
Just started replaying Inquisition on PS4 Pro after 5 years, haven't dated at all, really enjoying again, actually feels totally new. I was looking for an expansive RPG & then remembered I already had a such game. I didn't finished it the first time round, got distracted by another game after 50+ hrs.
i haven't played DAI and during the video i found some similarity to Greedfall (party system, map and how it divided, also tactical pause thing that i actually don't like) ... i am planing to give it a try although i don't like that strategy pause in combat, but if at least it's similar to greedfall (u can live without it, or don't need to use it always) then it will ok for me ...
I recently bought this game to play for the first time, didn’t even reach skyforge before getting bored with the game because of the combat. Imo this would be one of the best rpgs in history if it wasn’t for the combat and all the grind for power, the voice acting and story telling is one of the best ever.
i recenly finished my second playtrough of inquisition, as elven mage female, that as really fun, and chosing knight enchanter specialization and i can out-tank my warriors and facetank a dragon, heh, with regenetive magical shield and one armor to add 5 guard per hi and oneweapon adds 5 weapons per hit,
I just started playing it on xbox because it was available for free on game pass. I only played Origins so I'm just getting used to all the changes. I haven't gotten very far (still in the Hinterlands) but I'm happy with it so far!
But yea I agree with the chose one from the get go thing, it sucks I would of wished we maybe it could of been vague? Like you don't have the mark on the hand but your killing of demons fills a meter and once its full the rift close, it doesn't outright atleast to the characters that you're the one responsible
The difficulty is also essentially "Let's give everything three trillion hit points!" I mean, it's a beautiful game to look at, and the voice acting is stellar, but the busy-work and bullet-sponge opponents get old really fast.
@@Perfidion Probably weren't utilizing combos correctly. On Nightmare, you can take out most of the tough opponents with just a few combos that takes less than 3 seconds to execute. And for the really tough rifts, you can just dispel the giant demons before they spawn and don't even have to worry about them.
@@mp7311 Yep, people probably don't know how to do combo detonators. The frozen + impact is the easiest one of them, and you can do that in the damn Prologue. If we face a group of enemies, I usually like to use one or two Mages to put Ice/Fire mines in the ground in front of a warrior, use Varric to put spike mines, caltrops and elemental mines in the ground in the same spot that the mages mines, pick a warrior with the grappling chain which pulls all enemies and maybe a Static Cage do extra damage, and IF they aren't dead yet by the gigantic damage, they are now frozen and I shatter them with the Mighty Blow. They are done. I like to use Lightning Bolt and Static Cage together and use a 2H warrior with Whirlwind to Discharge (AoE damage) all paralyzed enemies and each damage they take, they take a extra bolt of damage of Static Cage. It's pretty satisfaying to see all that damage notifications popping and completely destroying enemies in seconds.
My 1000+ hours and many playthroughs say- YES!!! I really love playing this game- it is like re-reading my favorite book..over and over, and the story changes a bit.
One of the closest things to an offline mmo I've ever played. Can't recommend it enough.

Someone gave me that same advice the first time I played and it helped me a lot.
The collectibles are really important
The Hinterlands aren't that big, you can do a half before Val Royeux where you help the people there with getting food, warm blankets, driving the templars and mages away and talking to Dennet at least. Then after Val Royeux you can do the rest of small quests and especially the farm part where Dennet needs you to help everyone. After that get Iron Bull and kill the dragon. The mosaics aren't really the most important, nor the bottles of thedas, but collect all of the shards, they will help with reaching certain rooms in which you will gain permanent boosts for your character.

I installed three mods and game became incredible. The first mod removes the gathering animation, the second increases amount of materials found in chests, crates, dead bodies etc, and the third increases amount of materials gathered in strategy missions on the table. i actually love how some of the big maps in inquisition are actually more like sprawling dungeons where you have to complete a big quest in order to be able to fully explore the area. Like the beacons in the swamp
Inquisition is decent, but compared to Origins its a bit lacking. But, god, i wish it had more than 8 ability slots and long haired characters.
Omg, we need those long haired characters. And hair dynamics!!!! For some strange reason, they be avoiding that like the plague.
@@artorhen I hate the fact that when people talk about it all they say is "the story isnt as good as origins" like Inquisition is dog shit garbage

It's not a rpg. It's a pseudo rpg.
*SPOILERS*
Also Cole threw in the huge lore twist that if he was a spirit that manifested and took human form, is that how other life forms formed. I love that about this the game, the lore is soo good.
I actually miss the random events that would occur during the map travel loading screens in Origins and DA2. Was surprised when they didn't make it into DAI, seemed like one of the signature mechanics of the DA series.
I go around RUclips looking for reviews on classic recommendation games that people suggest and see how the game is doing after all these years

I think I was too hard on this game at release. It was too different from the previous games in the series and I must have developed a pretty strong bias because of that.
But I'm going back to it now in 2020 and its really gripping me. There was so much love and care put into this game I ignored at release.

I know there is a mod that makes all war table timer way shorter (even instant). For the Power thing, there is probably one that could help too.
@@Yemeth42pis yeah I think you are right, but I am playing it on PS4
After playing Inquisition, I began to appreciate just how good DA2 was.
Damn bro pass the boof u don’t need it anymore 😂
DAI has an amazing replay value. The game rewards the time spent with the system and the DLC's do add good stuff.

This game was amazing, the problem is that it feels like they got a bit lazy creating the game, it could have been even more amazing!
Well yeah, it's a Bioware game.
@@nosegod8094 whats that suppose to mean? they have made amazing games before like past dragon age and mass effect games

The whole series is worth playing. Well maybe not the 2nd game depending on who you are. But origins is a masterpiece and inquisition isn't bad at all. Favorite series of all time.
DA2 was so easy. greatsword users are OP in that game.
DA2 has the best protagonist and companions, period.
I just bought this due to the recommendation of a friend, I have never played a dragon age before
So what do you think?
It's my first Dragon Age game too, uh just got into it 2 days ago. Didn't play much cuz I'm not a fan of the party system. Hmmmmm.
Update :
I'm hooked lol.
Aaaaand?
@@cliff1745 Yeah, the AI kinda sucks and there's too few options to customize their behaviour.
I'm already playing it for the 100th time thanks to the quarantine
I recently played through The Witcher 3 again and now have a huge fantasy void I need to fill. I guess this game will do for now. Lol
6:24 How is this a problem when you only get items, weapon modifications, etc from those long quests? You can instantly unlock other maps and story required missions, if you have enough power.
If you can't wait for a jar of bees or a Bianca modification, then get yourself a mod that disables the timers and that's it.
idk man speak for yourself, the story gripped me from beginning to end
He ... is speaking for himself. I'm not sure you grasp the correct use of that phrase 😁 .
I like DA:I and after the Trespasser DLC i can’t wait for Dragon Age 4
I hope 4 turns out well but I personally have low expectations. Bioware isn't what it was when even inquisition was being made. A lot of people have left and their last couple games are notoriously bad.
I'm on my third playthrough (finishing the second just a week ago) and will be getting the dlc's soon. I think I'm addicted lol

@@KM-lc6hj definitely! you don't need to play the previous games to play this one either
There is a heal kind of spell, but it's more of a hail mary, it's in the spirit category and it's named 'revival' I found it helpful when going after major bosses to have two mages that both have this ability
knight enchanter Focus power is a heal too, you can also get 2 of this if you´re playing mage inquisitor
KC:D is such a treat of a game. Everything about your character means something. From how well he fights, to how he dresses and how he even smells. This is one of my favorite games ever I know it's not skyrim but it's still one of my go to games when I'm looking for something to play
Skyrim is mediocre at best on its own, the modding community is what keeps it good. So, not a high bar to overcome.

Is that the music from Risen playing in the background?👍

What the heck is that blue transparent mount? I've beaten this game several times and have never seen that!
If you haven't played it yet, don't hesitate to pick it up!
are there no side quest marker? or side quest picker or something like that, i'm new to the game
What the heck is that semi transparent blue horse? I don’t remember that one
Never thought about it before but the Inquisitor not having a portrait isn’t great for a CRPG relative
Bought the game on steam few months ago till now im unable to launch the game due to origin
I tedownloaded it 3 days ago, already have 25+hours. Im supper into it now, more than I did before. Its almost like re meeting a old friend.
Love that you used risen ost. Great video my dude.
I recently bought this game to play for the first time, didn’t even reach skyforge before getting bored with the game because of the combat. Imo this would be one of the best rpgs in history if it wasn’t for the combat and all the grind for power, the voice acting and story telling is one of the best ever.
There are few RPGs that I've played more that once this is one of those, what a great game.
the replay-ability this game gives is def worth the moneys
i recenly finished my second playtrough of inquisition, as elven mage female, that as really fun, and chosing knight enchanter specialization and i can out-tank my warriors and facetank a dragon, heh, with regenetive magical shield and one armor to add 5 guard per hi and oneweapon adds 5 weapons per hit,
I just started playing it on xbox because it was available for free on game pass.
I might try it out, been wanting to play origins again but felt dated I might give this a try though anyway
All I can remember about the combat in this game was how much a let's player was clicking his mouse. Click click click click click.
Have you ever played dragons dogma?
I always say a good, epic RPG should feel like reading a good epic novel
The quests in this game are always on the other side of the mountain that is impossible to climb, so you are forced to get around it.
HE SOUNDS LIKE SILK FROM PATH OF EXILE :OOO luv ur Voice btw :DD
"bigger doesn't mean better"
true words has never been so good spoken.
