She performed this day on a rotating stage with no mic packs or enhancements, and due to the size of the astrodome she was hearing herself back at a 3-5 second delay. She even designed the jumpsuit she’s wearing. She had her own clothing line

She actually saw an outfit that looked like this jumpsuit in a magazine, and it was enough to inspire her, but nothing realated to Cher. Idk, but I think this info is in an interview or documentary.

I think Selena was one of the last true performers of the time. She sung, she danced, never stopped moving and all of it was genuine. She was designing her own clothes, learned Spanish as she sung and made a concerted effort to better connect with fans, and I think if she wasn’t killed, it’s possible her name is mentioned around the likes of MJ or Madonna.
She was definitely making a name for herself. I was 12 when she died and I had never heard of her before. I like her English and Spanish songs❤RIP.
Knowing she dies just a month after this it is really hard to hear her sing the words, “I have all my life to live, I have all my love to give. I will survive.”
She passed 21 days after this concert, her very last live performance I believe .
Not her last - she performed in Chicago in a very similar blue outfit designed by her on March 11, 1995 (that’s my mothers birthday so I never forget
Her final final show was March 16th in Bryant Texas and unfortunately zero footage exists of this one 🫤

Ps. MAC Cosmetics launched a Selena makeup line in 2019 and it SOLD OUT within minutes. Additionally, she received a Hollywood Walk of Fame in the same year. She was murdered by her fan club president a month after this - her last - performance. She broke the attendance record in this performance with more than 65,000 people present.

She sings songs in Spanish, too. You don't have to understand Spanish to know what she's singing because she sings with her heart. "No me queda mas" is a beautiful ballad. "Como la Flor" is the last song she sings in this concert. Probably her biggest hit.

She broke the RECORD IN ATTENDANCE @ this HOUSTON ARENA. She was 23 & was already a fashion icon and making music in both english and Spanish. She was from Corpus Christi Tx. Great reaction. Selena is so iconic and the movie Selena was just as good. Jennifer Lopez plays her in the movie, if you get the chance to watch it I think you'd enjoy it. Some of the songs that I like are Como La Flor, Bidi Bidi Bom Bom and Dreaming of You. Looking forward to more reacrions

She's our Queen. I remember her alive and where I was when I heard she got shot. We just missed her show here in San Antonio, TX taking our toddler son's. She was always here, we were just going to catch the next one 😢. She never refused a photo or autograph. I couldn't watch her for years, but am now ❤
What you say is true. I met her many times in Houston and she was the sweetest, most loving and humble person there was. I was also at her last concert at the Astrodome

I love all your reactions. I began watching your BTs reactions here and on Patreon. Now I am here for your Selena reactions. Selena was just pure talent that was taking the music industry by storm. I actually live about 20 miles from Corpus Christi TX, where she grew up. Her family still lives there and they have a small museum dedicated to her. Her band consisted of her Sister on drums and Brother on base, plus he helped write her songs. Later on her future husband joined as guitarist. I can't wait to see more reactions to Selena and to watch you learn more about her career. It was definitely cut too short!

her last name is pronounced KEEN-TAH-KNEE-YA, I know this was not your intent, but it's a bit disrespectful to not even attempt to pronounce her name, but you would have no issue pronouncing a European last name such as Wisniski or Lipovsky, etc.. this is a microagression POC face so often.
