I renovated four very same chairs and I painted them in white shabby shic style ( my favorite style and color ), and all my furnitures in my apartmen in same style and color, too. One front leg on the one of the chairs was broken, and my wife though tha it can't be solved any more, but I renovated it and now anybody can't gess what leg it was. Your video is great and it shows that old things don't have to goes in to the trash, everything can be renovated in style what somebody love. My neighbours discarded many pieces of furniture that I took, renovated or repurposed into something else and gave them a new life. I showed them what I did with them and they were all delighted with what they saw. And I must to say, I'm an amateur, not professional, but I love make some new things from old and discarted pieces.
So helpful. I had never done any upcycling and wanted to take on the challenge for a boring chair. Thanks to your clear explanations, the chair is now proudly exhibited in our entrance hallway. Thank you !🙂
Great upholstery! I've been upholstering professionally for 25 years and this is one of the best you tube videos. And from someone of your age/experience that's really something. Keep up the good work.
Very nice job ! You are incredibly talented ! I really appreciate the style of your videos ! Please keep on making us dream ! Kind regards from France !
I have literally exactly the same chairs with the same green fabric on them! :D Thank you for showing me how to literally fix the chairs that I have :D
I am about to upcycle four chairs similar to the one you have shown, I have never undertaken upholstery before, your video was really great, wish me luck !
I'm really glad to see this tutorial! My mom has some dining room chairs similar to this one, but with a wicker backing. My nephew poked a few holes in one of the chairs and little by little my son got to it as well, and now the chair is wrecked! I've been thinking of changing the wicker out to apholstry fabric, and this gave me the idea on how to change it out. Thank you for your time and filming your masterpiece! It turned out gorgeous 😍!
All that boring prep work really paid off! This chair is beautiful! Well done🤩 please use eye protection when pulling old staples - I’ve had many a staple hit my glasses😳 Thank you for a great tutorial🙏
What a wonderful job Charlie. I have a chair just like this that I am in the process of trying to do the same with. Your demonstration was very helpful. Thanks.
Hi, you did an amazing job! Are you able to list the names of the supplies you used? I’m a beginner so it would be helpful. Thank you for sharing your content!
Hi Charlie from down under. You've made one of the best videos I've watched (and I watched many tutorials!). I've only made this comment on 2 others. You are a very good teacher. Going slow enough on each section to show exactly how it's done but not making us watch while you complete that whole piece. eg. You start your stapling then jump to the finish. I have 6 chairs similar to yours I've been putting off. I know have the confidence to reupholster them now, when before I was only going to chalk paint the whole chair. I'm 67yo and can sew but it appears that there is no sewing required! Great job on the video and the chair and thank you. (you might just want to turn the music down a fraction as you have a lovely calming voice)
It turned out beautifully. I think I might do something similar in the future. :) I did make a whole upholstery book "Upholstering Methods" by "Zimmerman". Everything you did is described, but seeing it done, it gives a better look at how its done. Thank you! Greetings, Jeff
Your instructions volume was very low, whereas background music was high. I had to constantly adjust volume to hear you speak. You did a great job on the chair.
Charlie, I loved you video and the results. Can you give me specific info on the nailhead trim? What size did you use and approximately how much did it take for that project. Thank you!
It would be extremely helpful if you'd list the type of staple gun you use and the size of the staples. I have a manual gun with 3/8" max staples and not sure if these will be deep enough. BTW, beautiful job on the chair!
I hit subscribe when you lined the webbing with the stripes, well done. I love the attention to detail and the care you take to keep your lungs safe from the foam dust chemicals. Using embroidery scissors and cutting the back edge that way was very insightful. Loved everything but the background music 😩, however I recognize it was your first video 👍 and look forward to the next one. What kind of pneumatic staple gun is that?
I JUST REUPOLSTERED A BIEDERMANN SOFA, I PAINTED THE FRAME SIVER AND USED LIGHT GREY VELVET, I REALLY ENJOYED WATCHING YOU, LOOKS LOVELY,
