    The best thing about The Bangles is that they all looked like normal girls. No tattoos, no weird piercings, just a bunch of cute girls. Especially Susanna Hoffs.
    You mentioned her tousled hair, pouty lips, and charm, but her most beautiful features was her eyes! Gorgeous woman!

    My favourite memories of Susanna Hoffs? Buying her and sharing a beer with her after The Bangles gig at the Queen Margaret Student Union, Glasgow University back in 1986!!! I had her all to myself for about 30 minutes before she had to leave! 😍🥰🤩😘

    Is anyone else longing for the days before robotic narratives? Plus the clickbait ..".little to the imagination"? The Bangles were real musicians that played all their own instruments, and in spite of being pretty, were still a real, talented band that rocked.. She stands by her values, and didn't get sucked into the putrid drain of L.A. fame and rock dregs that many have succumbed to. I respect and admire her. She'll be beautiful at 100, and hopefully still playing music. Long live The Bangles.

    Oh man....all this time I thought they were a Jewish group called "The Bagels". Should've paid more attention.😮

    • @igrowhigher
      @igrowhigher 26 дней назад

      Actually, according to an old magazine article about the band, 2 of the band are Jewish although the article didn't specify any further. Susanna for sure, and presumably Michael Steele, because if one of the Peterson sisters was Jewish, they'd both be Jewish, and then the number wouldn't be 2 Jews, but 3.

    I hated the Bangles & most all of their music, but the songs did get that much airplay on the radio. Probably why I never bought an album back then. Whatever hit was being forced was played on so many FM radio stations, you could hear it on one, change the dial & there it was again in the same 15 minutes for that hour by hour playlist of music. When Heart was getting that much airplay, it was because they were seriously that good song for song, hit for hit. Walk Like An Egyptian to me was just as stupid as SNL's King Tut skit. WLAE was just forgettable garbage really. Eternal Flame was the best song they did for me. Manic Monday was a distant 2nd. WLAE, a 3rd that I can name today decades after the popularity of the Bamgles. Don't get me wrong, I actually like her solo career covers more than I like her Bangles era stuff. So yeah, she can play & perform for having talent. she was arguably & probably the best looking of the Bangles. That's all I can say about the Bangles for the 1980's. At some point, some bands just become the butt end of being the joke of their era. That's what I think happened to he Bangles, that and the record industry was going to change the format from 1980's to 1990's music & bands anyway. I liked White Lion around that era, but watching interviews with Mike Tramp (WL lead vocals), he described their last performance as, just doing the show & never hearing form the record label ever again. That's where the Bangles were at or headed for just the same as every hair metal band of that decade. Hey, it happened to Kiss in the 1970's, they didn't even get into the 1980's before there were too many other bands that were more popular, better or whatever the reasons were for a band to virtually disappear from radio station playlists. Jefferson Starship was another that outside of Sara, they were done after "We Built This City" in the mid 1980's. Today, I can listen to SH, even the Bangles, but is it anything more than a Bangles hit or two from the 1980's, and like I said, I can listen to her solo collaborations for covers & like them more than virtually everything the Bangles ever did for a hit. I'm not sure they could reform & tour even. I guess if they were playing for free in a park, I might stop & listen. That's the sad reality of all female rock bands really. Joan Jett, The Go Go's, L7 did I miss any ? And if I can only remember 3 all female (relative) rock bands that isn't Heart. Heart still has to be the best ever female rock band that I can name without Googling the subject.
