Great win and well deserved! From a springbok supporter primarily, living in England who visits ROI frequently (have grandchildren living there). I love Ireland and its people.
As an Irish fan☘️ , I was really impressed with how England managed the game. Huge improvement on last week and really tested the Irish whose nerves showed through the 1st half. That red card for Steward was harsh. Was sorry he was sent off. Some questionable refereeing decisions over this 6nations. Happy that Ireland 🇮🇪 won the Grand Slam -deserving winners overall ✨☘️🎉
Couldn’t agree more with your post. Great 6Ns overall (still greatest rugby tournament on earth) and Ireland deserved winners. It’s their fitness, discipline and cohesion in the last 20 that makes them the stand out team. Amazing what AF has done with the limited resources. But can it be maintained until the RWC? I can’t see it. It might, yet again, be a case of peaking too early. I can see France being fitter and matching Ireland in the last 20 come Sept/Oct, and I think if they do, their extra ‘ je ne sais quoi’ (French flair) will give them the edge. As for refs, you’re spot on. But it’s ironic that questionable performances cannot be questioned. These matches are no longer a pub match between gentlemen on a windy Sunday afternoon. If being really narrow minded, too much money is involved for the bad decisions of one person to be constantly covered over by the IRB. But thinking more holistically, it’s about history, it’s about reputation, it’s about World Cup seeding, it’s about careers, and for some it can be about who’s name is etched on the silverware. So the idea that the man/woman at the heart of these great games cannot have their performance brought into question, let alone there be any debate about improved standards, is palpably wrong. Right. Pause, refresh and bring on the RWC.
@@seanbonella Well the post match disciplinary committee think otherwise. Just announced that the law Peyper used for the red (9.13 - tackle) was incorrect and that the incident should have been reviewed under 9.11 (dangerous play) and as such FS's Red has just moments ago, been reduced to a yellow.

I remember many, many moons ago in a bar down under. An all black supporter and I were talking rugby. He had explained to me in detail how most of the worlds best teams raise their game to a level even they knew nothing of. They play out of their skin while against the all blacks, for they know it’s a game of all or nothing. This is what I see as a neutral, when teams play Ireland. The game of the team is raised beyond anything they’ve done before. England played the best rugby they possibly could, because they knew it was the only chance they had of victory. Yet, Ireland being the world number one rode the storm. They’ve learned to not panic. Instead, they seek refuge in unity, knowing those around them have their back. Once England tired, Ireland attacked. It was always going their way, they just decided when.

Very well done to Ireland for their grand slam victory. Skill, class, determination, focus, energy.....The world cup is yours to lose. Good luck! Frankly I was very apprehensive during the week, imagining we were in for some real 50+ points psychological devastation. I was amazed, genuinely surprised, that we held off the Irish attack for so long, especially when down to 14 man.....but as we have so often seen, they ominously change up a gear in intensity and finish their job in style. The red card and yellow cards were entirely justified, absolute idiocy to continue performing those stunts. All the best from englandxx👍
Sorry, can't agree on the card decisions. In real time speed, I think the play that resulted in the Red was just a "Rugby incident" and was a Yellow at best....I admit in slo-mo it looks bad, but there was no ill intent and mitigating circumstances in my view. The Yellow taking us to 13 men was just a penalty. It it was it is, but Rugby is a full contact sport; these things happen. I personally think the current nanny state in the game threatens to ruin it.
I have to say it's great been Irish in England but I do have to say English push Ireland right to the final whistle even at the score board it was not safe till the last try for Ireland well done to both sides

As an Englishman I disagree, yep England played better and had nothing to lose but Ireland showed their nerves in this game and were far from their best, Ireland are far ahead of England I'm afraid. Well done Ireland.

Congratulations to Ireland. They really deserve that grand slam. Keeping the level they first show against us. I hope they will go beyond the quarter finals in the world cup. But not by defeating us..... a french guy.

As a Welshman congratulations to Ireland, thoroughly deserved. Glad that England bounced back from last week. However I'm wondering where rugby is going if players are shown a red card for that today. Steward should never have been sent off for something that was not malicious,,, please don't ruin the best sport on the planet.
Everytime I watch a game I'm not scared of the opposing team, Im scared of the ref. I feel like rugby is the only sport where so much is left to their interpretation of the Laws that on a same action, three different refs could decide 3 different things. It's the only thing I hate about this glorious sport.
It was an attempted shoulder charge that ended up being leading with an elbow instead. Direct head contact. A silly mistake, really, this is the top tier of rugby. I don’t think you can fault the ref for giving that. Thems the laws. In saying that, I would prefer if the law said those kind of tackles were a yellow. When I first started watching rugby that probably would’ve been a penalty and done with. England put on a good performance from what the highlights showed, and without the red probably would’ve had a good shot at an upset. Congrats to Ireland from an ABs supporter 🇳🇿
England put up a very good game in fairness, 10-9 just after half time with 14 men. WIth 15 men who knows what would have happened. Still, can't help thinking that it would have been an absolute nightmare for Ireland to lose this match, the grand slam on home soil on Paddy's weekend. Congrats Ireland, well deserved, and one for the history books...

Where the England player stopped moving but the Irish player didn't. Right? You watched that all back? Naw course you didn't!
Wow what a game , as a contest it was great and Ireland showed that even when playing below par they are still a great team and deserved no 1 in the world , finally I think that come the World Cup everyone’s favourite second team will be everyone’s favourite 1st team , they will be difficult to beat at the World Cup and while other teams have great players who can break a game open no other team is as good as Ireland are , being a kiwi I will still be cheering on the All Blacks , but Ireland if they get to the final will be the second 6 nations team to be crowned champions

Colossal effort by the Irish: Enormous challenge to win all those games. They had difficult moments but managed to pull of lots of quality match-winning sequences and scores to light up all their games as well as grift and grind.
Enjoy those pints of stout/porter on an extended Paddy's Day.
@Jay M not as tasty though 😉
Felicidades congrats!!🇮🇪greetins from,🇦🇷🍀❤
With Italy and Scotland really showing how good they are going to be, the upcoming six nations tournaments are going to be so good
Worthy winners of the tournament and played some great rugby. What a six nations we had this year. Best wishes from South Wales.
He’s gets a lot of stick for winning WPOTY but man JDVF is some player. Sticks his tackles, big Carries, good handling, cleans out. Great rugby player
He's not half bad at lineout throws either, is there anything the guy can't do 😀
Stick from who?
Couldn't have happened to a nicer nation! Well done Ireland Rugby, you inspired the world.
by a mile the kindest nay open hearted comment i,ve read here so far
Well done Ireland, this win orchestrated by the referee will mean nothing in the grand scheme of things as they fail at yet another WC.
@@sparta19944 British gobshite 😂😂😂😂 Crying 😢😢😢😢😢😢
@@matthewmulholland1797nope, tainted. Poor at home against 14 then 13 men. If sexton didn’t have Peyper on strings then no triple crown, slam or six nations as France would’ve won!
@@sparta19944 give it a rest mate, not our fault about that decision. Nothing to say we wouldn’t have beaten England 15 vs 15. Are u rly so deluded that you don’t think Ireland deserved this having beaten the world no 2 and the strongest Scotland side in years (with numerous injuries). It’s one thing saying we night bottle it at the WC. But we deserve this. Period.
ireland will win the world cup. this performance isn’t even their full potential, they’re saving it for the world cup. love from new zealand 🇳🇿
Nah peaked too soon, same as a few years ago when they bottled it .
Delighted this team won a Grand Slam. Would have been interesting if it had stayed 15 v 15, still think Ireland would just about have got it done though. Not at their best which might not be a bad thing ahead of the World Cup, might lowered expectations a little bit. Looking forward to what should be a competitive, open World Cup.
It wouldn’t, they have been a lucky team....it will run in the World Cup
@@1477wales4 That ' Irish luck' is gonna run out.

Let's come down with all that world cup talk now, that's a Southern Hemisphere rugby trophy.
The red was awful, you must of only just starting watching rugby, it's not meant to be a non contact sport. Ireland would have won I think anyway
Bravo l'Irlande, de la part de vos amis en France ⚜⚜⚜⚜

Well done Ireland, love from South Africa
I have to say it's great been Irish in England but I do have to say English push Ireland right to the final whistle even at the score board it was not safe till the last try for Ireland well done to both sides
Even if i'm French i was waiting for an Irish victory ! Congratulations and well deserved guys !

Happy for Ireland as well! The best team in the world at the moment! Even though I am Australian a part of me really wants to see Ireland win the World Cup! God Bless the Irish!

Congrats to Ireland, and good to see England in a better shape than last week.
Good on ya Ireland from a AB fan, great to see make the WC exciting France will be hard to beat too
We won ugly but we won.. Credit to England though because they certainly brought determination in the first half.
ireland have been the best team in the tournament but that red card was a farce
shame to see any red ruin a contest like that, idc whether it was a red or not, but great first half
@@bohdankostka3426 I'm Irish and I agree the red card was a bit harsh, but the refs in the competition this year have been atrocious, they made a lot of errors

What a job Andy Farrell has done
One of the greatest days in Irish rugby history. Under Schmidt we won but the was an emotional investment that took its toll. To able to win a Grand Slam playing such an expansive game is massive.
As an Irish man, big congrats to England for such a huge performance. They have redeemed their status as a top tier one team, they gave us hell
Respectful comment, fair play. What rugby is all about
As an Englishman I disagree, yep England played better and had nothing to lose but Ireland showed their nerves in this game and were far from their best, Ireland are far ahead of England I'm afraid.
Well done Ireland.
@Johndonson1 it was England's performance that made Ireland not play their best. Very good defence and line speed today. Night and day compared to the performance against France
@@johncreedon7847
As I said England played better and caused Ireland problems, but Ireland had all the pressure on them today and it showed, understandable in the circumstances.
Great win.
@@johndonson1603 it will be a good RWC !

Beautifully executed by Ireland. Hope the form continues till September. Red card was an awful judgement call. As Nigel said, this is not Soccer and hope it stays that way😢
Well done lads. Well done indeed 👏 👏👏 Thanks for posting and be safe.

Congratulations to Ireland. They really deserve that grand slam. Keeping the level they first show against us. I hope they will go beyond the quarter finals in the world cup. But not by defeating us..... a french guy.

Great result and fully deserved, England improved immensely, which is great to see the damage done by France was only temporary. Shame about the red card 😕 but it's a great game by all tonight.
Well done to England, they really put us in difficult position and played great game , congratulations you played great, supporter of rugby from Ireland
Congratulations Ireland, my favorite Six Nations team!
Best Wishes to the Irish for winning the Grand slam
As a Welshman congratulations to Ireland, thoroughly deserved. Glad that England bounced back from last week. However I'm wondering where rugby is going if players are shown a red card for that today. Steward should never have been sent off for something that was not malicious,,, please don't ruin the best sport on the planet.
Ridiculous decision.
Everytime I watch a game I'm not scared of the opposing team, Im scared of the ref. I feel like rugby is the only sport where so much is left to their interpretation of the Laws that on a same action, three different refs could decide 3 different things. It's the only thing I hate about this glorious sport.
Agreed it was harsh - Irish fan. Thanks for the kind words. I was there in Cardiff in 15' - the Welsh fans are the best
@@Aspett0 Also, I'm sick of the video ref. Swings and roundabouts come to mind

Congratulations from France !
All rugby players are warriors. Well done Ireland.
Even with 16 men England would have done nothing. They were never in danger of winning.
It would be SO GOOD for rugby if Ireland won the RWC this year!!

Because a new country lifting the cup ?

I don't think it was a red card offense. Yellow at most. Here merely turned his body to protect himself.
His recklessness caused Keenan to fail a HIA, he came from a distance
@@Nieljoyceniel As has been repeatidly explained. And the video shows. There was no recklessness, no express foul play. And that is backed up by the ever increasing amount of coaches players and some referee's stating it was only a match incident.
But of course you watched the replays right where the England player never altered his height, yet the Irish player did after knocking the ball on. Where the England player stopped moving but the Irish player didn't. Right? You watched that all back?
