I really enjoyed the video. But I enjoy all of your videos. I will be making the lamp shade. You really inspire me with your work. I have learned a lot. Thanks again for the inspiration
The lampshade is stunning...definitely going to do this. Have a granddaughter coming End of June would be cute in her nursery they are doing it like a flower garden. I've been making the rosettes for projects they turn our so nice. Thanks again for all the sharing you do. Hope your granddaughter feels better. Grandchildren are such a blessing.
I can't wait to try one of these myself! I saw a similar one at a craft show and didn't take the time to see how it was done. thanks for sharing this with us.
I love this with the lace and lighter material! I used to make over lamps all the time, but used drop cloth and made bows everywhere after seeing a tutorial YEARS ago where she ripped drop cloth and tied bows so it wasn't all in a line, but one at the top, the next one down a little... They came out beautiful and I always sold them.... But lately I think I made over the whole lamp, painting it, then adding guilding, or going over it with white wax and I'm thinking it's TOO MUCH.... It takes away from the shade like you said here. It just hit me and makes sense, lol! Plus I swear my area is behind the decorative trends by at least a year or two bc everything I did 2 yrs ago is JUST now starting to pop up everywhere, while I've moved on to the newer trends 🙄 so, the greens and browns I changed over to is not selling as much as the stuff I've done a yr or two ago and other booths are STILL in the white phase and still selling 🙄 soooo, I've been going back to farmhouse white (which by now I'm bored stuff with, lol!).... And we shall see how it goes lol! Also, a great resource for older, heavy duty, nice lamp shades that are connected, I have gotten mine for free from my local lamp repair shop! They would just throw out the gross shades that were stained, etc... So they gave me a bunch of free ones and if I called to say I needed more, they'd save me any that came in and would call me when they had a few for me to grab or I'd just swing by! I was taking the gross fabric off anyway
They also resold lamps, not just repair, so even if you only have a local lamp seller, I'd ask them what they do with the yucky shades. Chances are they just toss them because they probably also sell shades too.
Lisa, this is so cute! It is so feminine with all the lace. Can you give some tips of how to find and accurate different cases and trims to use on our projects? I have a hard time finding these trims. Thank you. I hope your granddaughter feels better soon. That ole stomach bug has found its way to Texas too!. Thank you and God bless! 😊
Yes Vivian. I just find old fabrics at thrifts store and estate sales and rip them in strips. I use drop cloth from harbor freight for the roses. You can use old bed sheets ripped in strips, tea towels, curtain sheets, and just about anything. Hope that helps.
That lamp shade is awesome!! I can't wait to try one as well It would also be pretty with some seashells and starfish too! Don't you think? Thank you!!!

I would like to see how you RIP your fabrics. Do you cut them in strips first?
Yes, I cut the small lines at the end and then rip.
