@@rillyjo5810 I think it's always better to use the ATM over bringing can and exchanging at the airport or another currency exchange BUT only if you have a checking account that doesn't charge foreign exchange or ATM fees. I have the capital one 360 checking account solely for my travel because it doesn't charge an ATM fee anywhere. You might however get charged whatever that actual ATM may charge on it's own but with capital one I noticed it was covered by the bank at times. I can't really say how it decides that. One other thing to consider, different ATMs may charged different fees and offer different exchange rates. When I get to the airport I check my phone for the current exchange rate and I play a little game of checking each ATM to see which one will give me the best exchange rate and low fee. Usually the ATM with a local bank will give the best rate and fee. Hope this helps
@@rhanzroams ya some ppl says it's best to bring cash but I think atms have better rates than the exchanges. All my ATM fees are refunded on both sides. Never seen an atm that listed the exchange rate tho. I read that u can take it card Into the bank and do a cash advance from your debit card and there is no fee at all. Just to make sure that you do not select dynamic exchange as that is not in the consumers best interest. I will check it out on my next trip tho
I had a great expiercene with my tut driver!!!! Mine was very knowledgeable didnt need a tour had him. He brought me to local markets without many westerners. Correction siem reap has about 5 or 6 but you need to known a local...... my advice. N MAKE FRIENDS WITH YOUR TUT TUT DRIVER
Hi - thanks for information. I see from your other videos that you travel to many different countries. How do you afford to travel to all these amazing places ?
Thanks for the comment! To be honest I focus on flights and try to find deals, so for example my Japan flight was $450 round trip from LA. You need to be flexible with the dates. Also I don't necessarily choose a particular destination to go to, rather wherever the deal is and if I want to go I'll book it. I also use credit card points to fund some flights and hotels when I can so it helps reduce the cost. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have specific questions.
Could you pls recomend me some reasonable price hotel or cheap one in siam reap. Thanks for the tis. I will definately use the tuktuk guy. Hope to hear from you soon. Looking to visit in may. Thanks
Hi. I don't really have a specific place that I can recommend but see map below for the area where I would recommend to look. This is walking distance to the Angkor Night Market and Pub Street (8th Street). I'd say somewhere in the area but at least 3 blocks from pub street as it can get loud in that area at night. Thanks! Your tips were really helpful. Quick question: would you say that I could do Siem Reap in 2 days or so? I am traveling with my brother and trying to squeeze Cambodia and Thailand in 1 week..you think is do able?
If you just want to see temples you can do that with one full day. Your tuk tuk driver can take you anywhere and they usually have a suggested route and places to see. It does get tiring as it's also hot and some of the temples are large but definitely doable and you may not want to do anything else the rest of the day though. I only spent two nights in Cambodia myself so one full day and then a late flight on my last day so I can do a few other things before getting on my flight.
And then you show you don’t know what you’re talking about when you get to Night Markets... Pub Street and the Old Market are not Night Markets, the other Night Market-is across the river from the Old Market

Be there in 2 weeks, thanks for the tips!
How was it?
Check out my DIY Siem Reap travel vlog. And soon Saigon!
Pi bak means "difficult" in Khmer. BTW, the proper pronunciation for the "Reap" in Siem Reap, sounds like the word "rear" + p .
Great info, thanks!!
