Stunning tank! I'm assuming Pancho has passed away as we haven't seen him in 3 years- While I love the tank, for any Axolotl keepers, please remember they prefer dark and still water. Sacrificing their comfort for a beautiful tank is cruel & there are numerous parts of this tank that would stress Pancho out severely and lead to developing disease or infection.. It's much more important to create the best living conditions for the animal first and foremost, & design the best you can from there without sacrificing their comfort. I'm still a big fan of MD and his designs, but it's obvious the animals are second to the scape.
I love your tank setup and all the plants for the axolotl and great choice for substrate! Though, If you plan to keep the light on your tank I would recommend getting a water safe reptile cave so it can escape the light when it needs to. Also, it is safe to keep cloud minnows with axolotls if supervised but other fish will nip at their gills and have spines that can hurt the axolotl if it eats one. There is also a risk of choking if it tries to eat the snail. A good rule with axolotls is to just keep it an axolotl only tank.

@@evankaiser3992 Valentin Poullaouec is right. It was a near miss. Turn the resolution up to 720 or 1080 (that gives you get 60 frames per second), and turn the playback speed down to 0.25. The fish escapes (barely) and swims away to Pancho's left. Pancho won't always miss, though.
Dude! Right after you feed the fish Pancho totally grabs one and eat it in the background LOL 🤣 you need to go back and see it! It’s soon after the boys leave. That wasn’t a plant she was eating. Right at 15:07 into the video
No wonder your Axolotl has no gills. They usually have fluffy gills when housed properly. That axolotl gills were most definitely picked off by those tons of fish. You shouldn’t house them together. This axolotl will most like become sick and develop fungus because of stress and will die. Not to mention they hate light as they do not have eyelids Hate to see it.
@@MDFishTanks Think there are different sub-spicies of them, the periophthalmus graciis only grows to like 6 cm, but the more common one periophthalmus barbarus grows to be 25 cm :) I only did the research because I got curious when I saw them on your video.
I've commented before about you possibly joining an axolotl group on Facebook because I feel like you could gain knowledge from it. To me, the gills or "fluffs" on your axolotl do not look good and this is probably due to all of the fish in there. It is also possible that if it gets too stressed by the fish it will develop fungus which is potentially life threatening
I'm a member of many fb axolotl groups and there's great info to be found there for sure! But honestly the gills don't look that bad to me. Some axolotls just have lighter gills. When you see the ones that are actually sick there is literally nothing there but a stump. I have one axolotl that has gorgeous floofy gills and one whos gills are fully intact and have many filaments, but they are thin and always have been. I do think he's pushing it with some of the things he has in the tank with them though.

Aww the weather loaches!! I love those guys. Have 3 of them myself, and oh my gosh, are they the life and soul of my tank. They feed from your hand and "kiss" you as they feed. No good in a planted tank though, they uproot everything, but I wouldn't change them for the world
Even if she does, if he got female and male fish, they will produce more so it shouldn't be an issue with having them in there..unless you don't want them to get eaten at all then yeah you would need to separate..because there is always the chance it will eat them.
That’s sad. That fish didn’t have to die that way. He could have prevented it. If you can see it’s eaten a fish then should’ve removed it straight away!
Amazing beautiful. Your so talented. Thank you for the advice it's so much easier just using the tap instead of constantly boiling the kettle over an over. X
Your work is so beautiful..so is your family. It's nice to see them in your videos. It makes you part of ours. Thank you. I'm soooooo stuck on my 240 g. I'm blank. It sits empty. Will share pics if I do. Thank you for sharing your passion and talent. Such an inspiration. Ps. Love the music as well
I know this video is over 2 years old now, but I don't see where anyone commented about him actually catching a fish! Go to 15:06, and slow the playback to 0.25 speed. Watch the lower left corner, and he snaps at a fish which darts away into the glass. It then goes to it's left into the corner, and then turns back around. Pancho snatches it as it tries to go back by, and the tip of it's fin is what is sticking out of his mouth in the closeup. It is clearest right as you pull away.
You are spoiling your Axolotl,😁. Mine even caught Denio and Mino didn't have a chance. I bet you got it by now... Some type of fish pick gills an tale of Axolotl actually.
It's hilarious that at that moment he's talking about how the axolotl NeVeR gOeS aFtEr ThE fIsH. The tank is amazing though. Just not good for an axolotl.
Wow! I had to go back and stop the vid so i could take a better look.. Looks like it already has the potential to be your best scape to date, Marc! Literally cannot wait for the vid! 👀👌❤

6:08 seeing the steering wheel on the other side of the car cracks me up.. lol.. nice set up by the way i was planing on doing something like this for an African clawed frog
In the last shots beyond 17:30 - the way your axie has himself wedged in that spot is an obvious sign of too much current for HIM. Not sure about how that many fish will effect his juvenile state, but from my experience with less fish, mine enjoyed growing up with the snacks. In terms of lighting I do believe there's enough shade for him, but again with all the current, it might be hard for him to get to Beauitiful tank nonetheless. Treat your axolotl well and cheers!
Yeah a couple of spots have high flow but overall, it's a long tank with a tiny internal filter. Lots of places for her to just chill should she choose :)
I mean isn't it funny how you can see the fish "dissapear" at 15:05 while the axelotl was eating a 'plant' 5 seconds later, which didn't look like a fin at all. Great content tho and it's not hate. it's nature. The axelotl wouldn't be able to eat all the fish since they would be way to quick when they get used to the tank.
Hey just a warning fish and axolotls typically do not mix. Fish nip at the gills of them and axolotls eat fish and if the fish is too big and the axolotl eats it, it may cause the axolotl to die. Love your work though keep up the amazing content
@@MDFishTanks ha ha ,, definately saw a tail sticking out of her gob 😜🤭 i have 10 axolotl's i know that (i got a fish in my mouth face .lol Just watch the axolotl's gills as sometime little fish can nip at them & get stuck , if you ever need to know anything im happy to help, here or over on insta 🍃✌ Seriously love this tank 😁

lol. I would agree, but i know how often she bites plants even when im dangling bloodworm cubes in her face haha
@@MDFishTanks its completely understandable thou as they feed mostly on movement dont they.
I know I saw
I'm sure she got one
That’s sad. That fish didn’t have to die that way. He could have prevented it. If you can see it’s eaten a fish then should’ve removed it straight away!
In my humble opinion, your videos are of the highest quality and quite enjoyable to watch. And yes, my shrimps and fish were seatbelts too :-)
haha. Thanks very much. Id say they are ok for vlog style vids :)
You mean there are folks who don't buckle their fish and shrimp up for the ride from the store to the house? 😂
👍💕👍
Md fish tanks, Im just new to your channel but to me your aquariums are the best natural looking scapes I've ever seen.
🙋♂️ I also seatbelt the fish ... missus sits in the back 😂
Fantastic video! Great watching your boys enjoy your setups!! 👍🏼👍🏼
Amazing beautiful. Your so talented.
Thank you for the advice it's so much easier just using the tap instead of constantly boiling the kettle over an over.
X
Those kids are so adorable
MD: “we can get 20 to 30 more!”
Wallet: “oh CRAP”
I think that some ficus pumila in the plant section of the tank would look really cool (or maybe some other vine)
nice, I'll take a look.
Your work is so beautiful..so is your family. It's nice to see them in your videos. It makes you part of ours. Thank you. I'm soooooo stuck on my 240 g. I'm blank. It sits empty. I could go outside and pluck up those ferns and more from the yard and pond(1/4acre) I'll thinking about removing a cypress tree and planting in the tank!! and go from there. Ugh. Will share pics if I do. Thank you for sharing your passion and talent. Such an inspiration. Ps. Love the music as well
Nice that you still have cinematic endings since RUclips told you some people switch off. I appreciate having a closer look 👌🏻
Beautiful tank! Beautiful fish! Beautiful children! 😊 😊 😊 😊 RUSSIAN LIKE! 👍
Haven’t watched yet, but I know this is going to be awesome!!! 💚
It's awful...dont bother haha
The paladuraim is just stunning
You are spoiling your Axolotl,😁. Mine even caught Denio and Mino didn't have a chance. I bet you got it by now... Some type of fish pick gills an tale of Axolotl actually.
That was such a cute thing to ask! 🤣 a screw driver! 👌 gotta love kid's 😉
Kids: =-|
Dad: Do you understand?
Kids: No =-D
they def understood....
Mine very much ate the minnows in his tank. Seeing these danios, I may try them next.
With the button ; at 15.06 we see him eating a fish and at 15.55 we see a piece of fin sticking out of his mouth x) But he is a magnificent paludarium
haha. Confused what you meant then. The Fallen tree yeah. Yeah should be a good one.
@@MDFishTanks looking fabulous already :D
@@martisl9652 will be a bit different this one...
@@MDFishTanks i can already tell ..loving the textures/details and layering of it. Achieving this look without piling on the substrate in the back isnt all that easy to achieve
@@martisl9652 a strong wind and its all coming down :D
Nice terrarium
No your not the only one that belts them in.
"Perform for me !" ahaha
haha :D
What is the name of that amphibian?
@@josephrivera386 Pancho (Axolotl)
That screw driver thing was awesome 😂😂😂
he does stuff like that all the time.
@@MDFishTanks it makes me chuckle all the time
6:08 seeing the steering wheel on the other side of the car cracks me up.. lol.. nice set up by the way i was planing on doing something like this for an African clawed frog
In the last shots beyond 17:30 - the way your axie has himself wedged in that spot is an obvious sign of too much current for HIM.
Not sure about how that many fish will effect his juvenile state, but from my experience with less fish, mine enjoyed growing up with the snacks.
In terms of lighting I do believe there's enough shade for him, but again with all the current, it might be hard for him to get to
Beauitiful tank nonetheless. Treat your axolotl well and cheers!
Yeah a couple of spots have high flow but overall, it's a long tank with a tiny internal filter. Lots of places for her to just chill should she choose :)
Thanks for answering! Rummy nose are pretty awesome fish :)
no probs :P
Mudskippers and figure 8 puffers go together! Both are euryhaline!
Well that's a word I'm going to have to look up
Brilliant tank and yes, I belt up my fish and corals in the car :)
I just started my own channel because I got inspired by u
I love blue axalotle
That is seriously one heck of a fish shed!!!
So awesome
Hey just a warning fish and axolotls typically do not mix. Fish nip at the gills of them and axolotls eat fish and if the fish is too big and the axolotl eats it, it may cause the axolotl to die. Love your work though keep up the amazing content
Hi Mark, I suggest you get grindal worms. Dead easy to culture, fish go crazy and especially for new fish that need to fatten up and look their best!
I put the seatbelt on too:)
I see a puffer palace in your future. Either puffers in a corner of aqs or in a stack of aqs in your upcoming gallery.
Love'n the Danios Mate 🍃👌 definately think pancho munched on one there too 😳😂
i would agree but she always bites plants even when a bloodworm is right in her face lol.
@@MDFishTanks ha ha ,, definately saw a tail sticking out of her gob 😜🤭 i have 10 axolotl's i know that (i got a fish in my mouth face .lol
Just watch the axolotl's gills as sometime little fish can nip at them & get stuck , if you ever need to know anything im happy to help, here or over on insta 🍃✌
Seriously love this tank 😁
Pancho is now planchette 😂
Another great video mate looking forward to your next projects mud skippers or shell dwellers or whatever it will be great
thanks Sean...new project release on Sunday hopefully.
@@MDFishTanks lol that's even better i only have Sunday off for the rest of the month
Hello Mark! What a great video and the fish looking amazing my friend keep it from me Mikael!! And Merry Christmas to you my friend!
thanks Mikael
Man your kids are so funny, a big Hugh for them from Argentina 🇦🇷
Omg your boys are soo adorable! Cant wait to see the tank they make one day!!!!
You have the best fish tanks i can't imagine the amount of work you must put in to maintain those tanks
I only have 5 danios (2 long fin zebra, 1 zebra, 2 leopard) living with another 11 rosy barbs, they are so agile and fun to watch. I especially like leopard danio’s pattern, they look like mini trouts or something, so cute.
Margara Francisca!
Future Aquarium lover's 👍Absolutely adorable the boys are . It amazing how interested they are with the fish .
That beats the videos and games on TV.
Real life experience with their father . How cool is that !
Looking forward to them creating future tanks.👍
Yeah but really, it because they love RUclips and want to be on the tv haha
@@MDFishTanks 😆Then " Future RUclips Stars " it is. 👍
Nooooooooooooo not Santa...🎅 Has anyone checked MD's car ? 🤗
That is hilarious I also buckle my fish in when I bring them home
Also that was a male flower horn, the females do not develop a “kok” is what they call their enormous head
