I'm glad her observations on this role were memorialized on video. Allegra Kent tried in early 1980s to get a show on dance funded by PBS, and she shot a pilot program with Thirteen/WNET, but it never was produced for lack of funding. It would be interesting to view that pilot today.

It is absolutely haunting and very much like an opera. I saw Allegra Kent and Patricia McBride and in those same years and heard Beverly Sills sing the tune from the Bellini opera that is in La Sonambula. They are forever combined to me. The very end… when the poet is given in the (fetal position) to the sleepwalker (ghost) is thrilling as she moves backward on point. How is that possible? He is part of her world now and forever.

None unfortunately every time something has to be filmed she disappeared. Of course she regrets it now but it's too late
