Don't be afraid to add 20 minutes of solid inking footage. I've Loved watching the process of your previous videos. Scales, feathers, clouds and basically every texture and technique. Would love 38 mins rather than 8 mins!
I think I will! I'm always worried viewers will find the process boring, so I'm happy to hear your suggestion. My next planned video is a botanical tutorial (it was a request), so I'll make that one a bit longer 😀
@@longstrideillustration Wow! That sounds incredible. Other than Fantasy, Botanical is my favourite subject. @LizzieHarperillustrator is my go to for anything Botanical.
I've been drawing for about a year and a half and I'm a late beginner in my mid thirties. One of my biggest issues is worrying if I'm practicing correctly and getting the most from my time with it. Especially since I want to get into ink. Thank you for sharing how you break down your studying process and showing us what you do!
Thank you for sharing that concern, it is often one of mine as well. I'm also a late beginner (in my fifties) so I can relate. One thing I find helpful is to seek feedback from a mentor or instructor whenever possible. I talk about that and few more tips on how to set up a learning plan for your art goals in this article: longstrideillustration.com/five-steps-to-becoming-a-better-self-taught-artist/
Ah yes, two of my favourites. I've shown their work in past videos though have yet to dedicate a Master Study for either. On my list for sure, thanks for the suggestion.
Great to hear and thanks for watching. My thought is that, if one approach doesn't work than another one will - I refuse to give up 🙂 Drawing is too fun right?
Belle démonstration pour imiter un artiste ! J’apprécie comment tu partage ton procédé, ton ‘how to get there..’. I am not a fan of mangas even though it is a very popular art. But trying to get the understanding of an artist’s process brings a lot to knowledge.
You deserve so many more subscribers. This suits me as I've highlighted with ball-pens in the past, but it's hardly an effective method. This is my kinda thing. Great channel! Keep up the great work!
@@longstrideillustration thank you so much! I can’t wait! I want to try and do a video similar but I feel like I’m not skilled enough at understanding certain things like light and shadow to effectively analyze their works, but I’ll try my best!
Merci. Otomo était une suggestion de la Communauté ici. J'ai la chance que ma bibliothèque locale a une vaste sélection de bandes dessinées et de mangas.
You did great. Maybe you could add Boichi to your master study to-do list. More specifically the style he displayed in Sun-Ken Rock, not so much the one he used for Dr. Stone.
Great video! You are an extremely talented artist. The velem paper you were using, it can handle ink copying or was that a pencil? What type of paper do you use for your inking and washes? I find certain papers buckle way too much.
In this video I'm using a Moleskine art sketchbook that is great for most wet and dry mediums. The velum tracing paper can handle brush pens and a little bit of wet ink, but it's made for dry mediums (so it will buckle with a wash). Hi!
Katsuhiro Otomo has been my favourite artist for more than 30 years, arguably my main influence! Great video!
Glad to hear from a Katsuhiro Otomo fan - thanks!
Yay, so glad you did Otomo! It turned out great too. :) Thanks for the video 😀
I was happy for the suggestion. Thanks again!
So glad I found your page! Great clear break downs of line work👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Glad you think so! Thanks for the sub!
This is a great strategy! I'll definitely give this a try.
Awesome, have fun! 🙂 And thanks for watching.
Great video !!! I would love to see you talking about Takehiko Inoue and Katsuya Terada

Thank you so much for your classes

What an underrated artist you are. Fantastic content as always.
Thank you so much!
this is gorgeous ❤❤
Thank you so much!
Loving this channel! My 3rd video and it’s so Pro! Cheers and Happy New Year!
Happy new year!! Happy to hear you're enjoying the channel. This time last year I was making the first video, still learning today and always fun.
I HAD TO SUBSCRIBE

Can you please do one of these master studies for masashi kishimoto or tite kubo, or both? They’re 2 of my all time favorite artists.
Probably will feature them as both are very popular. Lately I've been binging on Tatsuki Fujimoto's works, so my list of mangakas is very long.

Belle édition d'Akira de Glénat que vous possédez. J'ai découvert AKIRA avec ces mêmes livres quand j'étais enfant dans les années 90.

@@longstrideillustration Thanks
Very nice! Master study suggestions: Dino Battaglia, Alberto Breccia, Jose Muñoz, Aubrey Beardsley, Sergio Toppi. :)
Thanks for those. Toppi has been on the list for a long time, and so he is at the top of the top.
@@longstrideillustration Haha, TOPpi at the TOP of the TOP seems fitting!
learning from the master is way better, than rely on AI. thanks for the video!
Glad you enjoyed it!😀
I find petting my kitty between intensely-focused drawing sessions is the best way to take a mental break, too!
Glad that you can relate 😺 Kitties are the best studio companions.😀
