Greg is a wealth of knowledge! Listen close, people.
DC Knows 💪!!
the world needs more Greg Glassman
You simply can't miss it; it's highly recommended. I wouldn't be where I am today without having met Greg. He stands out as one of the most genuine individuals I've ever encountered, possessing deep wisdom and unparalleled generosity. His influence on me has been deep and lasting, resonating throughout the years. It continually inspires me to pursue truth over conformity in all my life's endeavors.
Gregg is as misunderstood as Jordan Peterson
He is incredibly bright; all inclusive, generous and selfless
He was treated appalling by sheep not thinking their responses through to his throw away comment
Poor Gregg took the 100 million and deserves every penny
Ill follow him to his next venture happily
I agree but don't think his tweet was a throw away comment... he knew exactly what he was saying and many awakened people understood exactly what he meant.
" Two hundred million dollars takes a lot of sting out of something"...I have always enjoyed Glassman!
This man created something special that continues to positively impact me and my family 🙌🏾
All he did was take a little something from every sport, put it together and called it crossfit lol
@@doggpound9319 and look what it did, you could say all mark bell did was be passionate about squat bench and deadlift, and he's been a massive part of pushing powerlifting forward
My favorite podcast yet. Wish it was hours longer.
Long time waiting for this. Coach Glassman is not only a pioneer, he is wise. Thank you!
Thank you for this interview! Engaging, entertaining, and brilliant! CrossFit helped me lose over 100 pounds. My life now is better than I ever imagined it could be. Thank you, Coach Greg! 🙏 ❤ 💪
Thank you for getting him back talking. Love this guy. Legend!
Greg is heroic. Thanks having him on.
Let's gooooooooooooo!!!!! Keep the bangers coming!
Edit: This dude has to be the most straight forward, to the point guy ever lol just no bullshit here
It was such a fantastic interview with an iconic figure, Mr Greg Glassman,
I want to add something about the question about the form of the cleans and snatches when you are doing them on a high-rep.
When introduced to Crossfit, your body becomes weak to concentrate and execute technical movements in high reps and under fatigue. But it's a temporal status until you and your body get used to this status with time, and soon you will see the mind and body of the athlete get used to executing high volume with good technique.
In my personal case, I see myself getting better and more efficient technically under fatigue as you are moving light-medium weights doing the cleans, snatches, thrusters, etc.
On the other hand, not all Crossfit workouts are pure fast sprints; several modalities need to be strategized differently; a fortime can't be executed the same way you are doing an Amrap 20 minutes.
Any person who get sagged from the company he created and changed the world of many many people, would say Fyou! But instead he keep going around talking wonders about that company that he gets nothing but hate!
Big applause to his integrity!
This guy defined Fitness and Health with his 3D graph of area and volume under the curve of work capacity, where other so called fitness SMEs failed. He also supports the science of metabolic disease and prevention through High Intensity Training and diet. He’s one of the best, no matter what other people say ❤️ peace!!
love Greg , he changed my life for ever
Nice to see Gregg Glassman knows how the world works.
This man changed my life. Thank you forever GG
What a brilliant interview with a brilliant man and his brilliant brain! Great to hear his thoughts on all things from the beginnings of Crossfit through to Broken Science Initiative and all controversies in between. Thanks guys
CrossFit changed my life forever. Thank you, Greg
This was an excellent podcast. Greg is a great resource
Love seeing Greg ! Do more podcasts
Greg is on Sevans podcast every Tuesday
Excellent episode. Glad I stumbled on this. Love hearing GG knowledge
“If you start with grandma, you’re never gonna get the Seals.”
What a phenomenal podcast. I feel like this should be a multi-million view video.
I needed to look this up:
"The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) is a research institute working in the area of global health statistics and impact evaluation at the University of Washington in Seattle." - Wikipedia
Excellent podcast, thank you!
Thank you so much, great guest Greg and great discussion.
First did crossfit all the way back in 2004. I was playing ball in JUCO. Friend of mine came back from IRAQ and came to the gym with me. He set a timer for 20 mins and just started busting out rabid like pull ups dips and squats. I said wtf are you doing man. He said this is crossfit we do it on tour in iraq. I said you do this in iraq, where do i sign up? lol This was before the soccer moms got to it. Like wmost things when they go public - they get a little basterdized and out of control. Great interview! While I don't do crossfit like that anymore - I still do the crossfit warmup before most training sessions to this day!
Fantastic interview. Thank you for taking the time to do this. Glassman is genius.
"Went beyond that" Understatement of the year:)
Thank you for creating and sharing this.
Greg is the absolute best.
"I want A- movement with A+ times... and we see that in the champions" -Glassman 13:26
The problem is he didn’t really address the question. They asked about the average 9-5ers coming in and doing snatches or other complex movements at high reps as fast as possible. Those are the ones that make it look stupid and getting hurt. He responds with A- movement/A+ times? Those people are producing F movements. How about slow down, take some time to drill these movements and become proficient at them if they are required to participate in CrossFit. The average box doesn’t emphasize this, and just encourages the average gym goers to practice the movements mid workout.
What is your metric for describing "the average box"?
The episode get better and better
I've listened to this 3 times and still find it worth listening too. CrossFit has changed my life.
It would be great to have Greg Glassman and Dr. Mike Israetel on the podcast to discuss nutrition.
Nsima wearing his WFH Zoom outfit.
I don't know what you guys did but the algorithm really hates you, all your videos deserve 10x views.
Great one guys 🎉
Awesome podcast!!
First time I hear someone speak of CrossFit in this manner and explore science behind it.
You know there are tons of CrossFit Journal articles about all that that he and others wrote… this always was CrossFit. What I still don‘t get is how people talk trash all the time without knowing all of this. Like, how is it possible to not know those things. It‘s the base of CrossFit.
@@ThomasEichholzer-bl6ws well bad news travels fast. I have never done CrossFit but everyone I knew that did was always injured. Their back, knees etc. I only knew one guy that was hurt. I used to be a MMA coach in NYC we did take some elements from it so I knew some people that were trainers too. Personally I think there were too many unqualified coaches training people. As far as the literature and articles I prefer podcasts. I only read particular subjects. Based on what I have heard once the founder left they lost their North Star and fired their marketing team and the games suffered for it.
@@advancingsecurity CrossFit used to have this huge article library, and regularly recommended reading. The library still exists, open acces, all free, but unfortunately hidden to the unknown. The L1, the course and examen every teacher has to pass before coaching at an affiliate, covers many foundamental articles, again the pdf is available for free online. I think CrossFit has so much to offer, it‘s sad to see bad comments over and over again. PS I did Martial arts for a long time, never seen so many injured people like in tricking, yet tricking, parcour, ninja warrior etc get hyped, and CF gets called dangerous, the injury rate is much lower in CF, anectotally and scientifically, but also logically.
Greg is incredible.
Coach Rules
Greg glassman, awesome stuff.
haha the Monster Energy Can infront of Greg. Love the Easter Egg :D
This man needs to be on Rogan
Great podcast.
Coach needs to take the reigns of CrossFit again. It’s in freefall.
So Good. The Master.
33:56 wow as a coach that’s some real stuff there
I am confused by his crusade against soda while drinking a monster on the podcast?
There’s no sugar in it.
Good point. Monster logo does represent an evil number.
Crossfit changed the fitness community for ever .
I miss Gregs CrossFit
Does anyone know what watch Nsima is wearing?
Incredible use of an hour & 40
Cross fit may do some funny looking movements but I've never understood the hate some ppl give it, i don't think some ppl realise how hard it is either, it makes bbing and other styles of training seem easy after doing it, samething with guys who are at the top of the sport,.I don't think some ppl realise how hard it is
Legend
Who snuck a monster in front of Greg 😂😂😂
You gotta believe he had a hard ass eye roll when he saw that
He actually drank from it at least twice if you watch carefully normally just before they go to a sponsors add 😂
To me it's the ultimate test of conditioning of course with added strength and I will say I'm glad they're starting to rename a lot of the movements because what they call a chest to bar now they used to call a pull-up and they got a lot of crap for it now they just need to rename the burpee to either snake jumps or fish out of water
While CF preaches low carb, it is way overly consumed in CF affiliates
Low carb is stupid
couch looks great, he looks like he's been slamming gin across a range of modal domains for the past few years
Seems to me like people stole crossfit from him
Why did you guys put a monster in front of Greg 😑😂
Lol. He claimed he could get people to a 750lb dead, not 500. And do it without deadlifting on a regular basis.
Too many ads boys
So, are we fixing Crossfit? Will Broken Science become gym locations with refined crossfit ideology?
one more: I have 2 small boys 3 & 5. What would be the suggestion for daily drinks? we water down juice, iam sure iam missing something.
Water
@janinesherman5426 just alittle boring for kids, we've cut out juice 100%. They now drink ungodly amounts of milk lol. After this comment I did research. 1. water 2. green tea 3. milk
There's not a SINGLE person, including HIM that can tell me the Crossfit pull up is a pull up. Dumbest "exercise" ever and by far the WORST for your joints of any exercise out there
I love Greg but “gym-NAST” drives me nuts
"What do you do these days for exercise?" I chase my kids.. Maybe swim a little.. Greg is ver smart. But not smart enough to stay fit.. Weird
Accept that you don’t know how to bring peace, just drama, but your Eve baby, a God fearing man is exactly what you need, let that man mold you into the you your suppose to be, if not then back to the streets you go where there’s no structure. Just don’t come back to social media talking about there are no good men, there has always been good men? Women want to be done bad for the emotional rush. That’s where they get off, the men who want to do good, we’ll they just take advantage, so it kinda leaves women in this weird situation. The truth is the women don’t know what they want, they can say they want a thing untill they get the thing they wanted
Nsima ask the most predictable questions 🙄
It’s clear to see Greg has been a disciple of his own training methodologies… monster.
He has polio. He does what he can but he was a different athlete when he was younger.
So the guy who's so anti-soda is happy doing a podcast with a Monster Energy drink right in front of him ? Also, Greg looks like he's never done a day's worth of Crossfit in his life - how can someone be so sure about an exercise philosophy if he's never experienced it for himself ?
Go back and listen to the podcast.
Those shoes are so ugly!! 😉
CrossFit is done turning into a circus with all new party trick movements
This guy got canceled. Talk about that.
They touched on it 1:10:00. The whole ordeal was BS. Time has vindicated him on both Floyd and CV19, but he's not harping on it - good on him.
@@stephenr85I’m more worried about the multiple sexual harassment claims than that
@@chefsweaty6744 who made the claims?
@@chefsweaty6744 that concerned me too. I think the most credible person talking about it was Andy Stompf who said he had hard evidence. I questioned Greg's integrity then, but considering that nothing has come of any of that 3 years later (to my knowledge), that has flipped. These kinds of accusations have become too commonly hollow and seem to be a pile-on status quo.
@@stephenr85great point. Im inclined to trust Andy on this specific topic though. Not sure how i feel here.
You guys should ask him about his harassment of woman
See comment above. Asked and answered on multiple platforms. To date, NO ONE has come forward with an actual allegation of ANY improper behavior. Andy Stumpf had an ax to grind and took a shot that had no substance. As mentioned above as well, if Stumpf had all this evidence, and knew about it when it was occurring, why did he do NOTHING at the time?!?
About the accussions of harassement* (I never heard anything from any woman, but the question, correctly formulated, is legit)
Lol guy is all messed up can barely walk
That's called polio
@@MBbienvenu it used to be a gymnastics injury.
@patrickh9937 So he has/had polio and a gymnastics injury. Does that make anything that he is saying wrong?
@@MBbienvenu, I actually agree with much of what he says. Not everything, but a lot of it.
at 5 minutes this became not just boring but stupid: 1. Circuit training has been around for decades and used for training sports that needed power and endurance such as ROWING etc, and the Military as part of their induction fitness, 2. comparing Recognized sports and athletes which are disciplined to a group of individuals that could not win a recognised medal or sport is just ludicrous, you may as well compare Table tennis to Rugby and ask why is one person fitter than the other. CrossFit was people making money out of training and used the Circuit training formula but used absolute stupid exercises to look cool, the "world games of CrossFit" is just whacky and stupid and anyone competing should be as embarrassed competing as the people watching.
How do you measure fitness, Tony?
not by comparing powerlifting which is an ANEROBIC sport to any type of aerobic sport, the fact the NO armature or professional sport in the world incorporates cross fit as part of their training shows the value of it, ITS JUNK, and the Creator refused to answer why the regular person who does CrossFit has such poor form, @@Kevinkillen62
Crossfit is NOT training. Crossfit is exercise. It makes you hot, sweaty and tired. It does NOT build work capacity or strenth. TRAINING builds work capacity and strength. When you see a Crossfit competition, that is a showcase of that individuals training and work capacity in multiple disciplines. When you see elite games athletes they didn't get to that level by doing WODS😂. They got to that level by programmed, disciplined training protocols. In swimming, weightlifting, running ect. With top level coaches in each respective discipline. Don't let Greg's bs fool you. Greg's ignorance is astonishing. Good for him though for selling his bs to idiots and making millions.
CrossFit made my friend gay… he said he’s not but I say him doing CrossFit.
Why because of all the men with no shirt? 😅
CrossFit made my friend gay… he said he’s not but I say him doing CrossFit.
Maybe because men who do CrossFit are so incredibly hot…
