I just ordered the 1/16 jeep, SAS, conversion, and this trailer. I have leftover gear from the 1/16 Sherman for the trailer. I am excited to get started.
Hey, just a little point of reference from a Jeep Nerd. The jeep chains attach to rings that are attached to the bottom edges of the pintle hook. The chains are also much shorter. When hanging they are just short of touching the ground. If I could attach a photo I would send you a photo of the back end of my WWII Jeep
Nice little trailer. I'm not trying to be picky, but those leaf springs would never work without spring shackles. I find it hard to believe they would forget that with the amount of detail they are providing.
There are a few errors on the kit, the springs being one of them. There was a U shaped swing bar the joined the rear end of the leaf spring to the mounting bracket. If you look at the CAD drawings in the instructions you can see it's in the original design but they've simplified it I guess to make it easier to manufacture
Thank you very much as this was very valuable even for me having only the 1/35 scale jeep with trailer from Italieri to which I now will add some missing details like the chain.
My Grandfather build this from the exact building plans of the jeep, out of steel, with every detail you can think of, inside and outside. R.i.P Grandpa!
I assume you mean at full size, not steel at this scale? That’s the great thing about military things is since they are put out to bid, if not secret you can get the plans online. I like made an exact size 3D printed replica of the 155mm howitzer shell with removable fuse for my niece who is a battery commander on the M777, and I just got the exact specs online (they go all the way back to WWI virtually unchanged (on the outside))
Not sure what Trailer this was based on but there appear to be a few mistakes if it's the Bantam T3 or Willys MBT who made the majority of them. The leaf spring has a U shaped swing bar at the rear which joins the leaf spring to the mounting bracket, the leaf spring being attached to the front mounting bracket by a bolt and nut. The instructions in the video show the made up trailer (looks like a CAD rendering) on the right and it appears to show the correct set up but there doesn't appear to be any part supplied for the Swing Bar. The top of the storage tray is a round not square in section. It was made up of a round tubular frame and then the sides, rear and front panels were rolled over the frame. The Tubular frame is visible at each corner. The hand brake is missing which is a prominent assembly. The main frame was made of 3 C channel's, 1 along each side and 1 at the rear but the front was open with some blanking plates covering the channel ends. The A frame was fixed at the front to the bottom of the tray by U shaped brackets, with the rest of the frame being welded to main frame. There should be a drain hole visible in the rear of the tray. There should be 1 more tie down at the front as well in a similar position to the rear one. This is not a cheap kit and all the apparent errors spoil it for me.
Well done Andy, it looks perfect for the Jeep, but should you have to modify buts just so they fit? Personally I would say no, but we must do what we must do, looking forward to your next build video, best regards from Australia 👍👍👍👍
Just got my 1/16 Easy eight and Tiger today ,can't wait for the halfback and the jeep to get here ,your the man ANDY ,THANK YOU ,FROM SARNIA ,ONTARIO ,CANADA :)
Other important thing this isn’t how the chains should used (including on modern trailers), they should be crossed underneath the tow bar. The idea being if it somehow comes off the hitch it falls on the chain cradle
Why is the kit resin? I 3D print add-one on my resin printer, but for injection molding why not use polystyrene? I realize it’s a cold chemical cure so you can get away with cheap silicone molds which are way cheaper than steel IM molds, but even so, poured resin (essentially epoxy) is a pain in the butt to work with

The wheelfenders on the trailer were flat 3 sides. We used this kind of jeep all the way up to1988 or so . At ft.Knox.

Holy COW a build video. Great video Andy keep em coming. I'll keep watching
Trailer looks great, easy build.
Like the applicator, great idea.
Glad it was helpful!
Always an outstanding video and presentation.
When will there be news about Your new 1/16 models?
Nice!!!!!!!

The springs would not work without having shackles on one end. Great catch there!
It looks great Andy what a great addition to the jeep👍👍
Thank you.
Sol resin looks really good but it is extremely expensive.
$50 for a high quality model is the norm. Everything has gotten expensive.
This nice little trails could easily be converted over to use with same scale RC. Like WPL and other 1/16 scale military. Very nice details.
Very good work Andy
Looks great Andy. Need to have a capture German rifle in the back.
Waiting for mine in the mail 🙂

Looks like a very nice kit, great build. Wish I could get hold of the Jeep kit in Europe seems sold out everywhere. Regret not pre-ordering it.
Andy, I'm not seeing any Sol products in your Brands section or in your New section on the website.

👀 WOW. You look very nice 🤗 👍🏼
Wow!!!!
Gotta put a figure of a tied up German in the trailer 😂
Finally!!!
I’m the first comment !!! 🔥
I’m hoping that they’ll make scout cars or SAS Land Rover in 1/16-1/18
You have to do a 1/16 M18 Hellcat please 😂

When are the next round of tanks coming? My bench is sooo lonely.
very soon test shots are on there way to me soon, then I will announce them.
Isn’t kicker/accelerator just rubbing alcohol?
Can we use the trailer with your sherman ?
I think I have seen photos of them hooked up to the sherman to carry extra stuff. I just pulled out my Sherman and was able to attach it fine.
Do you sell it?
Does this mean I have to give up hope for a plastic kit of the trailer? Please not.
I thought Takom weren't allowed to call itjeep
