  • These worked for me back in the 2021 property rental market and I'll be testing them again this year since my lease ends in the next few months! Not excited about leaving an apartment I've grown to adore but that's the nature of renting.

    i wish i knew about the option to renew clause before signing my tenancy agreement... had to renew this year and landlord just raised it by like over 30% sighs :(

  • @lilaclaicc

    Interesting for the option to renew clause in tenancy agreement. I guess the next questions are:
    1) Landlords might not agree to keep the rental rate at the same rate, especially given that it has gone up for so much. I guess it is also your landlord's mistake that he/she didn't foresee the price of rent would have continue to go up by so much the past 1 year.
    2) Related to no. 1, I doubt such clauses are perpetual, like you mentioned, you can only renew the agreement once at this locked in rate, and not more than that.
    3) The reverse is disadvantageous to the tenant if the rental market starts too cool? I guess the past 2 months I do see some cooling off already (though not obvious).

    found your channel. interesting to watch a local renting exp. have you ever had problems with landlords in the past? what are your thoughts about you encountering problems with them as a local ? lots of expats seem to have problems with deposit deduction and landlord not fixing things

      For 3/4 room HDB flats, landlord/owner can only rent out 1/2 rooms and owner need to physically continue staying in the same flat too. Thus, it must be a flat rental without landlord around.

      @zhen86 5 месяцев назад

      @@jsmu1234where you get info Sia? You can rent out the HDB flat after MOP provided you have a place to stay. Yes even 2 room flat.(note only for Singaporean)

      Ahah Just teasing you. But that's the reason why I don't choose to settle in Singapore. I prefer Malaysia or Thailand. It's not just a about the price, people are more lay back. I used to be in Singapore but I like more the lifestyle in other places. I am French but For Singaporean I understand they don't have the same option

      @@chowanmushitoday's condominium rental market 750sqft for $2500 is impossible. HDB 3 room flat (800sqft) rental around $3000 already.
