U girls have set a benchmark for reviewing a video. I have never seen anyone going scene to scene, lyric to lyric....doing perfect justice to analyse these pieces of art. I adore your enthusiasm. Much love from Karachi ❤
"the black of my eye" part is actually a common Pashto proverb, used for someone you care for deeply.
Well said without having the black of eyes everything will be dark
This is by far my most favourite track of this season - its just stunning, subliminal, strangely romantically haunting - Im so happy to see you guys having the same reaction to this gem !
Agree and the bar has been raised so high with this song.
Told you... So many surprises ahead... Once again thank to Shruti for being available for timely reaction ♥️
Gulay means Sweetheart
And Zain Pirzada (Director) is the guitarist from Karakoram Band...
No outdoor shots... Just green screen
JoJo the dance is called Attan... Traditional Pashtoon Dance
@ArmstrongFall no no... Just a Music Enthusiast who listen to all sort of Music... Particularly Pakistani underground music... Watched Zahoor's first song Lafzuna last year bcz I love Curly Ney's work. It's Pashto+English song and with eng subs.. vibes ♥️
@@Umeerrruuuuwell it's an attempt to do attan ,let's just say this is a generic verison of attan.
Can you write in English the Pashto lyric where they sing Sometimes my heart desires(kala me zara ghawarye i guess)
Firstly, you both are stunning, and secondly, you both have an incredible attention to detail. I admire the way you explain the song, and both of you understand it so well, even though it's not your native language. Rehma exudes pure passion, and Zahoor is equally passionate! Thank you for sharing such a wonderful reaction! Sending love your way!🫶🏼🫶🏼
Rehma is 23-year-old Pakistani-American singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles.
I'm from Punjab and lives in Islamabad, but I have visited Peshawar and have many pushton friends, I have to say this Pakistani Pushtons are the most beautiful people inside and out and I just love their culture. Geo Pakhtoon ❤🇵🇰 ❤
No doubt, they are Pride of our Nation 🇵🇰💚
i find myself waiting for your reaction more anxiously than the CS song itself, and the wait between release of the song and your reaction video is agonizing!
Lol, same here.
Same here
Understanding every urge, but they've a life too after all. Give them some slack with patience 😌
Yup you got it right, season 15 is covering different defferent cultures from Pakistan.
And in 26:35 There is a tradition in Pashtuns that when they do not have rain, they put coal on their children's faces and ask them to pray.
35:43 A lady containing a tattoo on her face because it is a sign of beauty and was done when girls reached the age of puberty
Btw ab hum magical journey dekhenge ❤ sath main
I just wanted to say that I always wait for your reactions because both of you give the most analytical and thoughtful reactions. Both of you are so genuine and passionate about the music and it comes through. Thank you! 🙂
Its a tradition in north kids paint their faces with charcoal and knock on doors
Everyone gives them treats
In hope to rain in the region
Good info, i see same in some regions of punjab too
Interestlingly its the same culture in southern punjab as well. Bachay kalak lagayay hain aur phr special ganay gatay hain, and then when it rains, khairaat ki jati hai treats ki by everyone in the muhalla
True
@haleemulhassan9158 not just in southern Punjab but also in Central Punjab. We called the guy who would volunteer for putting black ash on his face the Kala Dhoda.
Southern Punjab is usually Saraieki belt, most of them are khans as well...almost the same
The burning woods are called "Spelani" and its for nazar utarao😊
Yes i literally just that tonight 😂
Its called 'rue' in English and 'Harmal' in Urdu.
Loved the frame by frame discussions. Props to your efforts, Jo and Shrutz !!👏🏻
Gulay (literally meaning flower but it is used to say sweetheart), 'star gu tu' (you are the black of my eye), and 'daz la ku' (the core of my heart) are commonly used words/phrases to express affection towards a loved one. I wish you knew Pashto to truly understand the sweetness and heart-touching impact of these words in this song.
@Jyoti & @Shruthi thanks for covering pushto too! & Also Harkalay to Peshawar 🎉
JoJo... The dance is called Attan Dance... Traditional pashtoon dance...
There are many different languages, bolis and dialect spoken in Pakistan. But Urdu is the main vehicle of communication among people coming from different linguistic backgrounds.
finally someone noticed Ahad Nayani :).. I smilled too, it felt nostalgic, reminding old coke studio
The song coordinator Hidayat Marwat is from this region in kpk called Laki Marwat. So even though the visuals are displaying Pashtun culture, the song is exclusively representing Laki Marwat in particular
Hello from San Francisco. I love your excellent in-depth review of this beautiful song, lyrics and visual aesthetic.
Once again what an extraordinary review by both of You. ❤
Thanks t you guys, even I had listened the song, watched the video once and I left it for second time to listen with you guys, still missed so many things. Then I needed your frame to frame review on video, music n lyrics. That's great experience really. ❤
This song is wonderful. They have shown number of Pashtoon cultural things in one video. Waiting for rain, kids pasting black color on face is a myth in Pashtoo for rain. Stones, jewls, tea, dresses, perfumes, cultural music n dance etc. Everything is wonderful. They have portrayed culture so well. Hats off to Hidayat (the cultural correspondence)
Two of my most favorite ladies when it comes to reaction in particular and my most favorite song from the season !! Wow !! This couldn't be any better .. think you ladies for your reaction
for me it gave me the vibes of "The Kite Runner" especially child looking up into the sky, emotionally connecting to every phrase.
I think the little room behind the curtain where Rehma is first standing is a perfume/incense shop. You can see flowers painted on the wall and dried plants hanging from the ceiling. There's also a lady there who probably owns the shop.
Loved the reaction, btw, and the attention to every little detail. Throughout this song, I had a feeling that I was in this little world with all of those people. I didn't want to leave.
PS..if you guys are going to make watching every song twice and posting hour-long reviews a CS tradition, then I'm not complaining🎉
Xulfi & team have unleashed a powerful force in CS-15 that is connecting people around this polarised world on a basic human level. This production as a whole is transcending language barriers, breaking down social divisions, and fostering understanding and empathy.
You guys are playing an equally important part by stimulating people around the world to embrace the diversity of music and to connect with others through this universal language. Believe me, you are forging meaningful connections, bridging gaps, and doing an amazing job in creating a more harmonious world. 🙏🏽 ❤🖖🏽
Loveddd your reaction!!! ❤️
(The introductory shorts were green screen)
My mother's sir name is Gul gul means flower and family used to call her gulley as her nick name 🤗 this is chaye khana/qehwa Khana you say tea bar its common in our pushtoon culture full day qehwa chalta hai specially after every meal
The transition between languages was like 2 rivers meeting and becoming 1 effortlessly
Zalimuoooo, i waited to long for your reaction ,,,🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
As always the way you both break things down.. no one does it the same. You validate the thoughts and questions in our minds and I am sitting here going aha someone else picked that! ❤
Sometimes its necessary to watch your reaction to a particular song in order to understand that song. Thank you very much for your reaction. Love and Respect from Pakistan.
Thanks for yet another beautiful and thorough reaction. You girls are doing justice to such beautiful art. CS is putting so much effort into their videos and yes! we do need reaction like these.
On the other hand, this song makes you fall in love with everything shown here, the set, the characters, the music, their vocal, every shot and story behind those shots. WOAH!!! and in the end, it makes you fall in love with that beautiful region in Pakistan.
To my sweetest sisters!
CS is incomplete without your reaction. This is as simple as this. This season every CS track has me blown away and every reaction of yours on CS tracks has me speechless. WOW just WOW how beautifully and poetically you express our sentiments. FANTABULOUS !
Had been waiting badly for your reaction and the wait was worth it.
You guys are simply amazing!! I really appreciate you guys looking into the little things that make this song such a magical experience. Amazing review!!! Kudus to you guys.
"Kala me zraa ghwaarii is pashto means when my hearts want"
The female singer is pakistani origin Rehma, her grandmother sang for radio pakistan and she is LA based r&b singer, and also sang a collab ladke with indian origin singer shreaya...
Who's her mother?
What a great song, video scenes and voices of the singers, and the amazing music, great claps to the whole team specially the great legend Zulfi sahb.. i really astonished to Rehma voice so so sweet, wow..😍❤️😘😘 you both are so great ladies i always see the tracks with you really, i am also Pashtoon.. Mams be happy so much pray and love from my side Faraz khan from Pakistan. 👌💥🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️❤️❤️
That was not a Folk Dance.. that was “Attan”. Signature dance of Pashtoons ❤️ Famous in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Attan is s folk dance.
Zahoor and Rehma actually shocked us. What amazing vocals ❤❤❤
Master piece…. Female vocalist was just amazing
The reaction I wait for all the time. Thank you gals!
The little girl in the beginning with black color on her face n doing the same to an elder is a way to such charms and have such children running around in the streets praying for rain
Wow,,, you both drilled into this song so well. Keep up with the great work 👏
Jyoti and Shruti, your appreciation for music is truly mesmerising! Your deep passion and acute music sense shine through every time you react to a song. It's like witnessing a beautiful fusion of voices, just like 'Harkalay'! Xulfi's masterpiece has indeed created a magical amalgamation of voices and melodies, much like how your thoughts and feelings blend seamlessly when you share your love for music. Thank you both for enriching our musical journey with your genuine reactions. Cheers to Coke Studio and to you both!
Listening to the Coke studio songs for the first time when they release, is something I look forward to and love each of the tracks. I can't explain why but your reaction videos literally have a multifold effect on my loving the song. Please keep it up. Someone did comment on Jyotis crying which was mentioned in one of the earlier reactions, for me those tears are overwhelming overflow of appreciation of the song and I resonate with it as each and every song really spurs up different emotions every single time.
The dance they were doing in an improvised manner is called "Jhoomar", its a dance the Pakhtoons do to celebrate. Its done slowly and rhythmically. Both men and women do "Jhoomar" mostly on weddings
So glad you guys finally reacted!! I was waiting for thisss. Love you ladies from 🇵🇰💗
I was waiting for your reaction and here it is...❤
Loved the micro analysis 👍
These tattoos on women's face are considered as beauty standards. I'm Pashtun from Balochistan and my mother has em on her forehead, checks, chin and hands. Its so common here in Pashtuns of Balochistan and Afghanistan, may be there in KP too. And the women standing wearing are Afghan/Pashtun clothes made by hands
Coke studio deserves Jyoti and Shruti both..thx a million for reacting 🇵🇰Coke studio together, a HUGE fan of both of you❤
I have to admit and truly speaking ,you guys have the best and genuine reactions amongst all others. All the best to you. Song is surely one of the best of 2024...
Shruti and jyoti coke studio ki waja se main aap dono ka fan ban chuka hun. Aap k review se mujhe boht kuch new seekhne ko milta he just like ap ek cheez ko kayi doosre angles se dekh sakte ho. Ap dono k liye boht sari best wishes aur 1 request bhi he k please aap dono 1 baar pakistan visit krne k liye try zaroor krna.....i know its really difficult....but choti c khwahish he meri k aap dono ko coke studio ki team se baaten krta hua dekhun. Shayad ye mera sapna kabhi poora ho paye, kyun k main bhi jyoti ki tarha boht zyada emotional hun. Boht sara pyar ap dono k liye ❤❤❤❤
You ladies need to come down to Pakistan and explore the different cities, food and culture! You’ll definitely love the diversity!
Waiting your reaction thanks for dropping😊
Love from Pakistan❤
Thankyouuu for dropping the reaction 💖 Been waiting eagerly.
Yes you guys got it right..Pashto sounds similar to English language...i had pushto friend who used to speak English so well effortlessly and our teacher used to tell us she do that effortlessly because of her mother tongue!! Whenever pashto people speak fluent English they automatically sounds like natives
Thats so true. I'm Pashtun and everyone in my class used to tell me how good and natural I'm with English 😀
The dance at the end in a group ring called “Jhoomer” it’s called “Jhoomer Daalna” . The way they were together in a ring dancing. 🎉
One of two most awaited reactions..
I was eagerly waiting for your reaction to Harkalay. Your analysis of the song is excellent, and you guys are truly amazing🥰😍
Zahoor and Rehma performed brilliantly. 🤟👆
Bravo to the entire team 💜💜
Honestly, this song before watching it on Coke Studio Pakistan page, I actually came and listened to the song here to see your reactions.
Broadly classifying there are 77 languages spoken in Pakistan and punjabi itself has more than 16 different dialects very distinct from one another in contrast to indian punjab where only 3 dialects of punjabi are spoken
Yes thats true. Pakistan has so many languages and that too have so many dialects. I'm Pashtun from Balochistan and I was struggling with the song cuz I didnt get all the words. Pashto has more than 25 dialects
you are spot on at 30:05. amazing how you caught on. zulfi explained that the video is about welcoming nature of the pashtuns.
Another observation - when she sings 'If I run away, will you let me stay?' they have vocalised 'Harkalay' in the background which means Welcome.
Haider Ali... Playing Tumbi in Maghron La,
He usually do the strings. Pasoori etc
previously did*
Hey Jo! Loved your reaction videos. As fans of Coke Studio we really want you react to Coke Studio Bangla.
It's interesting you note the merging of the languages/choice of words, because I had also thought about how "soulmate" - when pronounced a certain way - sounded so close to "gulay", hence why they probably deliberately chose this over options but which would have jarred.
Harkalay means welcome in pashto.❤❤❤❤❤
GULAY! WHY DID YOU THIS TO ME? ❤ TALENT! TALENT! TALENT! wow, Xulfi and co. are bringing out GEMS one after another to the world stage. I agree with you gals this is a short movie that just captivates you in minutes and leaves you hanging in there for hours in shock and awe. Zahoor and Rehma's vocals complimented each other so well, when Rehma started singing I initially thought she was singing in Pashto, but then I realized that it was English. COKE STUDIO PAKISTAN is surely on 🔥🔥🔥 this time around, music lovers around the world will remember and revisit this season again and again for years to come. As always, great reaction ladies, loved every bit of it. Keep it up, see you gals in the next one, take care, CHEERS!

Bhai kafi Pathan bol rhy hain ke hamen lyrics samajh nhi arhy us singer ladky ny pashto ko boht ziyada transform krky likha hai ismy, kia waqai me aesa hai?
@@sameerkhan1916 Han Thora SA Kia ha lekin us SE faraq nhi parta q k Pashto main already bohot saary accent ha aur yeh Jo Pashto song ha yeh global audience KO target Kar k banaya ha aur Pashto language and culture K represent Karny k lye aur English k sath rhyme Karny k lye usny aisa Kia ha
@@sameerkhan1916thats true, I'm Pashtun from Balochistan n we speak totally different dialect of Pashto here. I was struggling with the lyrics of the song but did understand after listening it on loop 😆
Must say. You two have the best reaction videos. Cheers from UK
Jyoti ma'am. I've been waiting for your video for so many days. Please late nahi kiya karien 😭. Sab se zyada apke reaction and review ka intezaar hota hai .
You. People wait for Coke studio new product. and iwait for your reaction. But this time you are late .. I like. You because you miss nothing. and it nice to see the video with two die hard fans keep it up .❤ from Karachi
They have shown the social picture of how things happen in KPK the province, Zahoor himself hails from the area and blends in with local people which inspires him to write the songs he writes
That's Why I Waited For This Pure And Genuine Reaction❤❤❤
Thanks To Coke Studio For Bringing Such Beautiful Song And Thank You So Much For Representing Our Culture And Our Sweet And Beautiful Mother Tongue Language.
Pashto song. Dance form is Atan. Harkalay means welcome.
Boys with Henna on hands.
Its a cultural thing. They put Henna (mehndi) on palm. And just close it. The henna made different shape for each person. It looks so cute
My father is 75 from punjab and he says when he was little, they used to do the same to young boys for Eid :)
I was Eagerly Waiting For Your Reaction On Harkalay Song❤❤❤
Thanks for the genuine n detailed review ❤❤❤❤ .I m Urdu speaking n I myself don't understand pashto but I love the music ,composition, picturization of the song

From:- Farah wamiq 🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰
Amazing reaction as always about song Rehma voice is heavenly gorgeous ❤❤❤
--the burning Scent is called "Oud"
--In a Pashto tradition, children from all over the village paint their faces and gather wheat and barley flour. They then boil it together and share the meal. In the evening, they gather to pray for rain.
--the lady is burning (Spelani) A wild plant found in mountains we burn it for (Nazar utarny k ly)
--
That Bukhoor is called Harmal in Urdu and Speelani in Pashto... The same term used in the beginning of the song.
16:46 us Shruti us
Felt the same after listening this song a couple of times
The outdoor shots are green screens in the studio. Amazing review.
Oh acha green screen hai woh? Mujhy tou BTS me bhi real lag rha tha?
Love to see your reaction, love from Pakistan 🇵🇰 ♥️ 🇮🇳
Rehma a Pakistani settled and raised in LA, she knows a bit of urdu but did an awesome job singing in Pashto along with English
The place is like a baythak where people converge and have discussion, grieve and celebrate
The feel is like mehram revisited , this time bubbling with happiness
Totally addicted to this wonder of thr song world.
Really love your reviews! Would like to see one on Sonechadi by CokeStudioBharat
Love ur reaction and emotions and the way you guys love us❤ Pakistan
Great attention to detail guys, awesome reaction 👌
I always wanted to learn Pashto. I am a Punjabi but there is something about pashtons and Pushto I absolutely love.
Hi Shruti & Jyoti, I love your reviews. I'm Pakistani pathan and English and this song is a perfect representation of different languages & culture coming together through music.
I find myself waiting for yalls review :-)
Its a cultural thing. When there is no rain.. they color paint the children faces with ash. And they visit every house of village and pray for rain.
*I WAITTTTT FOR YOUR VIDEOS*
finally the Reaction everyone was waiting for❤
Probably one of the greatest coke Studio songs ever
There are so many surprises in all these videos
Zulfi is a smart producer, in a megical journey we've heard that world precieve the culture of Pathan in a way specific way which is not sort of art loving culture so what he did deliberately mixed with global leguage (English) which is understand by the global audience so somehow he create a connection with worldwide.
