Crows have been seen swooping down on pedestrians near Bishan Street 12. The birds are particularly protective and may attack when they sense that their young are threatened. However, the National Parks Board (NParks) said it is working with Bishan-Toa Payoh Town Council to reduce the crow population as house crows are an invasive species and threaten Singapore's native biodiversity. Instead the authorities prioritise private property owners complaining about otters invading theIr private ponds and crowing chickens disturbing their luxury sleep. Since then we hardly see the families of otters and the jungle fowl anymore. HDB dwellers, despite being the overwhelming majority always come last in Singapore.

Crows know how to coexist with humans once they are made to understand the rules but this is not the first time in Sg history that crows have attacked people. Somewhere in the late 90s, many cases were reported in the outlying estates, closer to Malaysia. The main cause is NEA not actively culling their population just like the surge of Cecas and once their numbers swell, they become arrogant and overbearing pests.

Crows can be your best friends or worst enemies depending on how you treat them. They aren't aggressive unless you are near their offspring or you purposely throw rocks at them.
They are actually quite skittish and mistrustful to ppl including feeders. On the other hand, crows can recognise ppl who treat them well and ppl who don't. And I have seen crows showing gratitude to ppl who rescued them from injury or harm. They don't get attacked or hurt and the crows would behave properly in front of them

Some time ago I was walking my dog at the east coast park. A crow hovered around us a while and attacked my dog !
I think this is probably bc there’s no more food to be scavenged in the parks bc very few people are bbqing due to covid, rain. Also in the heartlands they are finding it difficult to get past the netting around food places. And only in the blocks are some residents still throwing breadcrumbs. And maybe even this is being monitored by authorities.
The garbage collectors are probably doing a good job too to ensure as little exposure of broken garbage bags as possible!
So now these crows are hungry. By the way, I have heard some neighbors complain about them flying into their units from the kitchen window. Don’t leave food uncovered on the countertops!

When I was on exchange in Sydney a few years ago, my friend and I were attacked by seagulls because their chicks were hatching in this crack along the pavement. Dunno why the heck they had their eggs there (apparently they lay their eggs on the ground, but I don't understand why they picked a place with humans walking about). But magpies, beautiful birds of prey and squirrels do the same. Do you want them dead as well or do you just disrespect "ugly" animals? The reason your small birds have no chance is the use of pesticides and the mass death of insects and that nature is being destroyed by humans. You should better thank crows for eating the garbage lying around and the carrions who would be eaten by humans cats and dogs and would spread disease and pandemics among humans. See a show is the crow got baby's at the tree 🌲🌲🌲 nest you coming over they thought you want to take away their baby's and attack you. So of LTA officers can do a shelter there maybe can prevent the crow to attack passby people

"The Singapore Gun Club has a "crow eradicating unit" of volunteers. Most are sharp shooters and rarely miss. The police are informed in case an operation is in progress. Be aware of impending action due to complaints.

There are also crow traps set up in housing estates. Large cages that crows fly into to get to the food & can't get out.

Crows are super-intelligent. They like to "disturb girls" more. Pick up some stones and make sure they see you doing it. That way they will not attack you though they might fly over and caw like 40 or 50 yds. away. I learned this while running in an estate and they were at a clearing. I suppose it is a territory thing.
