I personally think he actually did come back for more than just to die at home, he also came back to return Chara, so his parents would still be able to do something with the body instead of losing Chara for what then seemed to be forever.

What makes this so tragic is injustice, Chara made such a sacrifice, poisoning themself with buttercups (a truly hellish way to die) just for that sacrifice to become meaningless. The singers in this video did an amazing job at presenting the emotions of these characters.

Probably because they saw Asriel dying after being attacked. And Chara was already dead before that happened. They were already grieving from Chara’s death and adding Asriel was the breaking point.

His people needed some kind of reassurance that they wouldn’t just die down there. When he figured out it was humans who killed them then he did what any parent would have done, punish whoever hurt their kid. The only thing stopping Toriel is probably the memory of her children, how they were best friends and how Chara loved Az. She could still see through the grief, though I wouldn’t agree with running. Also, Asgore could just have waited for the humans to die a ‘natural’ death like old age, then collect their souls. Sure, it would take longer, but it would cause way less heartbreak. But I think Asgore’s reaction was understandable, kind of. I would have just said we’ll take revenge on the people who killed Asriel, not all humans.

_"Oh, Mom, Dad..._ _Howdy... I'm fine..._ _I wouldn't come back_ _just to die."_ That's gotta be the most heart-wrenching verse in this song. God, I love this one. The hope, the sorrow; the argument between Toriel and Asgore feels so _real,_ making it all the more impactful. One smaller detail that I adore is when Asriel and Chara met; Asriel's lines are louder and are held longer, whereas Chara's singing is more hesitant. It really shows the difference in their personalities. And it stays true to the original song, too. Just like the monsters in New Home, it doesn't exactly tell the full story; not an unexpected detail, but still one that I appreciate!
They never show reveal their face in the memories, even hiding them in the family photo, yet they certainly weren’t shy in genocide, making me wonder if the soullessness aspect and the whole “I’m connected to the culmination of some other person’s being” thing influences them.
I understand torials feeling I actually used to be close to someone who had nasty ideas. Not killing just loved seeing people sick when they did something terrible themselves. Claimed they deserved it when I wanted to help them
I’ve always loved that the origin of the conflict between the humans and monsters was left vague. It’s such a good example of how conflicts become generational, pitting people who had nothing to do with the birth of the conflict against one another. Did the humans start it? Did the monsters? Focusing on that will never end the cycle, and adhering to those preconceived animosities and presumptions about one another will only prolong it.

@@damx5760 It’s also known that monsters are physically not as strong as humans, only really able to use magic which humans could do too and possibly do better since they created the barrier, it’s likely they know this too before the war so it seems far more on the human side but some monsters could’ve tried fighting back once they realized humans were trying to kill them. Idk if it’s ever said in the game but the humans could’ve learned that monsters can absorb souls and that started the conflict because just seven can make one into a god which would clearly get anyone afraid. However, idk if monsters or humans knew this before Asriel absorbed Chara’s soul I think it’s implied they did because then how could Chara even get the idea?

I think it’s because we don’t get to see young!Chara reflected back, like how Flowey returns to Asriel- Chara’s dead, and aside from maybe the flavor text, is only seen in the genocide ending- it’s like only seeing Omega Flowey and only vague allusions to anything else. I only saw one depiction of Underfell where it seemed to be heading towards the reveal of almost an inverted scenario to canon- canonically, the Dreemur kids were the ones who came back wrong, while in (that depiction of, which became my preferred version of) Underfell, while the kids stayed the same, their deaths traumatized monster society so much that it became a darker, crueler place (presumably- the comic didn’t get past the Ruins, where the random encounters weren’t more aggressive, but they’re very scared of Toriel, who is projecting Chara onto Frisk, and dies at the end of the Ruins, and then the text boxes are just ellipses- maybe it was meant to end there, though, with Chara too traumatized (having retained their morality past death, and seeing Toriel’s death) to continue the path?
My god…this song portrays the story in the wrong way, go hear “star” and “flowey tale” by man of the internet if you want a recap. Chara didn’t get ill, she poisoned herself as a plan she formed with Asriel to cross the barrier and save the humans. She never wanted to see the flowers, when Asriel absorbed the soul she became half of Asriel and was even implied to possibly come back after the deed was done. Sure she might still be troubled by her abuse but this isn’t how the story goes

Before The Game UNDERTALE was completed it went through a whole different iteration. That version sounded a bit more sad which i think would have been less effective." Toby fox regarding to unuse a track released on the anniversary of the game Therein lies what I think makes the game so special. Fans praise UNDERTALE for being the saddest track in the game, and I'm not to disagree. How I never once been able to listen to the song without shedding at least a single tear. And it accompanies one of the most emotionally climactic scenes in the entire game; when every monster you befriended throughout the journey relays to you a tale, a tale of heartbreak, a tale of sorrow, of death and loss, of a family torn asunder and the hope of an entire civilization exinguished. Why then, would Toby decide that making the track sadder would lessen it's effectiveness? Because UNDERTALE isn't about saddness. It's about *HOPE. LOVE. KINDNESS. COMPASSION. MERCY.* And above all, holding on to these precious things in the face of pain and Sadness. That's what the track conveys perfectly, i believe. The tale of a fallen child is undoubtedly a tragedy, the monsters going at length to describe the devastation it wrought on both the dreemurr family and monsterkind as whole. The future of humans and monster had died, and the prince of their world's future along with them. The monsters tell you at that moment, they lost all hope. But at that very instant, the music swells, shifting to a new key; an outburst of Hope, joy unconfined love and compassion. There is hope in the underground and there's hope everywhere. You just have to keep holding on. That's what the track conveys to me. The song makes me cry, not out of sadness, it's not a song about sadness, it makes me cry out of joy. The type of tears are rolled on your face and past the edge of your trembling, hopeful smile. You should be smiling too. Aren't you happy? Aren't you excited? *..your going to be free.*

Asgore is the strongest monster. Despite losing EVERYTHING close to him: His children, his wife.... He still manages to put on a brave face for everyone else in the Underground. Because he knows that he's the only thing THEY have left, he chooses to bear that weight. I feel like a lot of people have to be the emotionally strong one for others at some point in their life, and that's why I think he's the most important monster in the underground and I identify with him the most.
Azrael The Angel, I agree, and yes sans is overrated. But sans is a tiny less stronger then asgore. For sans has the burden of knowing even if they reach the surface, it'll all reset. He doesn't know whether everyone he knows will live or die. Thats why i stopped playing undertale completely after pacifist.
Denx ON are you forgetting that Asgore is just one person ? Yet he still manages to survive multiple stabs pretty easily and keep on when a normal person would die like from 3 stabs at most (and if not, I highly doubt that they could keep on fighting that strong)

I'd like to say something about Chara's ambiguity: Something that seems to have carried from a certain horror franchise to the Undertale fandom was the millions of interpretations for characters and events that fans have created. Gaster and Chara seem to have no TRUE character to them, and that is why they're open to whatever one wants to see them as. For Gaster, he could be wise, good, sadistic, misunderstood, or whatever. As for dear old Chara, she (or he, if you prefer) can be seen as your guide, an innocent soul, a tragic villain, a child corrupted by your genocidal curiosity, a psychopath, etc. It's what you make of her. Both robotic Puppets and fallen humans have this to share. I like that.
My first thought upon opening this video was essentially like… flinching from a punch. THIS IS GONNA HURT BOY. Usually I watch this the day it comes out on Patreon, then comment the day it goes live. Give myself time to think on it, listen to it a few times. But I can’t wait on this one, it’s just… God I don’t even know if I can bring myself to listen to this a second time. So first of all, the art. Oh boy, Steel’s art! Mixed with Toon’s lines and some very nice colors by Brodingles. The colors in the flashback scenes are very nice, it’s a nice watercolor effect that I really like. The artwork here is REALLY amazingly done. The blurring effect on the background in the first image gives a really great sense of space. I have always really liked the way Steel draws the Dreemur’s ears? It seems like an odd thing to focus on but he always gives them such dimension and flow, they always look very dynamic. His work is always very sharp which really adds to the intensity of some of these images. The shot of Asriel being stabbed in particular had me gasping out loud when it was revealed, I didn’t expect that level of brutality but God it really gets the whole situation across. My favorite shots are of Asgore and Toriel at the end, the intensity in their expressions. Those faces have gotten across just how much the Dreemurs have been shattered in a way nothing else has. So. A lot of UT fancontent mostly focuses on the Skelebros. I have nothing against the Skelebros and I too am guilty of Sans being my fave (though I wish all characters got more focus as a whole but that’s neither here nor there). Looking at most fancontent, you’d think the bone boys are the focus of the game. They’re not. The real story of Undertale, the thing that truly defines the game, the Underground, ALL OF IT, is really the Dreemurs. Flowey’s end tag for this musical jokes about the story being about goats trying to adopt a child, but… it actually is and I feel like this musical has captured that so well. So many songs bring back Toriel and Asgore (Toriel in particular, I’ve noticed, has more solos and features than any other character. I’m not complaining at all, haha, it’s so good), making it clear just how much their pain has colored the whole Underground. It’s the story of how this family was destroyed and how the love of one child finally mended the pieces. Of course Frisk can’t fix everything. I feel like this song in particular was a truly brutal illustration of what the loss of a child can do to a marriage and a family. Chara and Asriel aren’t really coming back (as much as fix fics would love to change that and as much as I love them) Toriel and Asgore will never be together again. Ugh I am rambling. But this song just captures the story so perfectly. The harmony of the family before everything gets wrecked, Asriel and Chara’s friendship, the way it’s all ruined. Ugh. Chara’s voice actor, Eisibee, does a GREAT job and makes me real bummed they’re only in for one song. The line “looking up, I see the sky” is just so beautifully sung. I can only hope there will be some Chara comic dubs, because I want to hear more of their voice and Asriel and Chara interacting. I actually really wish we could get some stuff about what actually happened with Chara’s plan? Eisibee does such a good job, I feel like we’d be getting less generic “demon Chara” and more nuance, which I’d love to hear. The duet on “Let’s be friends!” is so good and the amount of pain in both Chara and Asriel’s voices when Chara dies is just… my heart just broke. Atwas does an amazing job as always, the part where Asriel dies is just… ow why. But the real standout here is Asgore and Toriel’s fight. My God. Asgore’s “everything has been taken” just sounds like he’s holding back tears before it turns to rage, which is a perfect summation of his actions. Toriel’s response is PERFECT, the way she snarls out “I’ll keep them safe from YOU” is so at odds with her normal sweetness that it feels like being punched in the gut. It’s amazing. That exchange right there has captured that moment where their marriage broke better than anything else I’ve ever heard. It’s perfect. I could go on forever. Also you’re the actual worst for ending that whole exchange with the in game shot of the family photo. I thought you LIKED your viewers, Alex, but I can see I was mistaken. THE TRUTH IS YOU’RE A BIG JERK. The finale with Frisk approaching Sans in the Judgement Hall is really great. I can already imagine in the final version with the script, this song will close with the bells that herald that part of the game which should be suitably dramatic. I am very pumped to hear Steel voice act that part, God I cannot wait… but I’m also more than willing to because I’m sure it’s going to be great. The fact that the release of the songs is coming to a close breaks my heart, but I’m so excited for the voice acting of the script. Everything this channel offers is such high quality, I’m sure however long we’ll have to wait it will be worth it. ...also please forgive if this comment is missing the letter n anywhere, that one key is being a jerk. Because grammar and spelling are more vital than memes on youtube comments, obviously.
The whole musical is a masterpiece in itself and I'm incredibly glad to have come across it... but this, *THIS* section of it, the Undertale, and most specifically the scene where Chara is having their last moment with Asriel, 4:10 through 4:28, gets to me so DAMN much.... "Now, at your home again Let you, be, *Blessed*", the way he says that last word, the way he says *Blessed* just... makes me tear up ;w; You can HEAR the mixed emotions in it, the sadness of losing his best friend, the anguish of realizing they're gone, that he'll never see them again, barely holding his tears as his whole body aches from the pain of loss... but amidst it, the heartwarming, deep love Asriel feels for Chara, wanting nothing more than his precious, best friend to: "Here, in the golden flowers may, you, rest..." , to honor and respect Chara's dying wish, and to ensure, whenever they'd be then, to rest forevermore peacefully in the place they loved. It's.... so beautifully emotional and in character that makes me at a loss for words, tears almost flowed down my eyes countless times *just* remember this scene. Jay Swag presumably Chara died of "natural causes" and so wouldn't be lost. However, Asriel was killed before his time. One could argue this is what would make their deaths somewhat different.
Asriel's painful "Oh, mom, dad...Howdy...I'm fine" officially broke me. I broke up straight into tears. It was just too much for me!! Especially since the Dreemurrs remind me pretty much of my own family which was fine at first but eventually broke down into million pieces, leaving nothing else than pain
i feel so sorry for Asgore and Toriel. Their son gets killed by people while he tried to bury his dead best friend. Asgore gets so angry that he starts trying to kill humans. Then Toriel, instead of convincing him not to, jut runs away. Asgore gets even more depressed- It's like having Toriel dead but worse. He has now lost his children and wife- his only family members. Toriel's life is a wreck, Asgore's life is more of a wreck. Asriel and Chara get reincarnated into a bunch of demon... things?
we know it well but misuse it. We prefer to give it only to our relatives and people close to us instead of just loving everyone. We know it, we misuse it.
One line that intrigues me is the one at 1:22 "It was friend against friend" it makes you think their might have been a friend group like Kris, Susie, Noelle and Berdly forced into that war
Well all the humans necessarily didn’t hate the monsters. They were both intelligent, and probably lived in villages together. It’s very likely that some were friends. Like the kid monsters and humans probably at least had some friendship because they were innocent. Then they grew up, and had to fight to honor their family’s wishes and expectations. But hey, that’s just a theory.

This is definitely one of my favorites of all the musical songs adaptations you guys have made. It holds so much emotion, and at the same time it gently gives the backstory to any listener who might not know of it before coming in.

What makes this so tragic is injustice, Chara made such a sacrifice, poisoning themself with buttercups (a truly hellish way to die) just for that sacrifice to become meaningless. The singers in this video did an amazing job at presenting the emotions of these characters.

I’d have to side with him, honestly. He lost the underground’s hope, everyone’s hope. Those children were truly the future of humans and monsters. His people needed some kind of reassurance that they wouldn’t just die down there. When he figured out it was humans who killed them then he did what any parent would have done, punish whoever hurt their kid. The only thing stopping Toriel is probably the memory of her children, how they were best friends and how Chara loved Az. She could still see through the grief, though I wouldn’t agree with running. She should have calmed Asgore instead of running away. Sorry, went off on a ramble

God, I love this one. The hope, the sorrow; the argument between Toriel and Asgore feels so _real,_ making it all the more impactful.
One smaller detail that I adore is when Asriel and Chara met; Asriel's lines are louder and are held longer, whereas Chara's singing is more hesitant. It really shows the difference in their personalities.
And it stays true to the original song, too. Just like the monsters in New Home, it doesn't exactly tell the full story; not an unexpected detail, but still one that I appreciate!

I’ve always loved that the origin of the conflict between the humans and monsters was left vague. It’s such a good example of how conflicts become generational, pitting people who had nothing to do with the birth of the conflict against one another.
Did the humans start it? Did the monsters? Focusing on that will never end the cycle, and adhering to those preconceived animosities and presumptions about one another will only prolong it.

@@damx5760 It’s also known that monsters are physically not as strong as humans, only really able to use magic which humans could do too and possibly do better since they created the barrier, it’s likely they know this too before the war so it seems far more on the human side but some monsters could’ve tried fighting back once they realized humans were trying to kill them. Idk if it’s ever said in the game but the humans could’ve learned that monsters can absorb souls and that started the conflict because just seven can make one into a god which would clearly get anyone afraid. However, idk if monsters or humans knew this before Asriel absorbed Chara’s soul I think it’s implied they did because then how could Chara even get the idea?

Anybody else get literal chills when Chara died? Honestly, this song really shows the fact that Chara isn’t a villain. So many people portray her that way, but she’s really not
I think it’s because we don’t get to see young!Chara reflected back, like how Flowey returns to Asriel- Chara’s dead, and aside from maybe the flavor text, is only seen in the genocide ending- it’s like only seeing Omega Flowey and only vague allusions to anything else.
I only saw one depiction of Underfell where it seemed to be heading towards the reveal of almost an inverted scenario to canon- canonically, the Dreemur kids were the ones who came back wrong, while in (that depiction of, which became my preferred version of) Underfell, while the kids stayed the same, their deaths traumatized monster society so much that it became a darker, crueler place (presumably- the comic didn’t get past the Ruins, where the random encounters weren’t more aggressive, but they’re very scared of Toriel, who is projecting Chara onto Frisk, and dies at the end of the Ruins, and then the text boxes are just ellipses- maybe it was meant to end there, though, with Chara too traumatized (having retained their morality past death, and seeing Toriel’s death) to continue the path?

My god…this song portrays the story in the wrong way, go hear “star” and “flowey tale” by man of the internet if you want a recap. Chara didn’t get ill, she poisoned herself as a plan she formed with Asriel to cross the barrier and save the humans. She never wanted to see the flowers, when Asriel absorbed the soul she became half of Asriel and was even implied to possibly come back after the deed was done. Sure she might still be troubled by her abuse but this isn’t how the story goes

And this song isn’t trying to portray it how it actually went, it’s through the other monsters perspective. None of them knew about the plan for chara to poison herself, only asriel did and he died before he could tell anybody.

Before The Game UNDERTALE was completed it went through a whole different iteration. That version sounded a bit more sad which i think would have been less effective." Toby fox regarding to unuse a track released on the anniversary of the game
Therein lies what I think makes the game so special.
Fans praise UNDERTALE for being the saddest track in the game, and I'm not to disagree. How I never once been able to listen to the song without shedding at least a single tear.
And it accompanies one of the most emotionally climactic scenes in the entire game;
when every monster you befriended throughout the journey relays to you a tale, a tale of heartbreak, a tale of sorrow, of death and loss, of a family torn asunder and the hope of an entire civilization exinguished.
Why then, would Toby decide that making the track sadder would lessen it's effectiveness?
Because UNDERTALE isn't about saddness.
It's about *HOPE. LOVE. KINDNESS. COMPASSION. MERCY.* And above all, holding on to these precious things in the face of pain and
Sadness.
That's what the track conveys perfectly, i believe. The tale of a fallen child is undoubtedly a tragedy, the monsters going at length to describe the devastation it wrought on both the dreemurr family and monsterkind as whole. The future of humans and monster had died, and the prince of their world's future along with them. The monsters tell you at that moment, they lost all hope.
But at that very instant, the music swells, shifting to a new key; an outburst of Hope, joy unconfined love and compassion. There is hope in the underground and there's hope everywhere. You just have to keep holding on.
That's what the track conveys to me.
The song makes me cry, not out of sadness, it's not a song about sadness, it makes me cry out of joy. The type of tears are rolled on your face and past the edge of your trembling, hopeful smile.
You should be smiling too.

Asgore is the strongest monster. Despite losing EVERYTHING close to him: His children, his wife.... He still manages to put on a brave face for everyone else in the Underground. Because he knows that he's the only thing THEY have left, he chooses to bear that weight. I feel like a lot of people have to be the emotionally strong one for others at some point in their life, and that's why I think he's the most important monster in the underground and I identify with him the most.

Denx ON are you forgetting that Asgore is just one person ? Yet he still manages to survive multiple stabs pretty easily and keep on when a normal person would die like from 3 stabs at most (and if not, I highly doubt that they could keep on fighting that strong)

I'd like to say something about Chara's ambiguity:
Something that seems to have carried from a certain horror franchise to the Undertale fandom was the millions of interpretations for characters and events that fans have created. Gaster and Chara seem to have no TRUE character to them, and that is why they're open to whatever one wants to see them as. For Gaster, he could be wise, good, sadistic, misunderstood, or whatever. As for dear old Chara, she (or he, if you prefer) can be seen as your guide, an innocent soul, a tragic villain, a child corrupted by your genocidal curiosity, a psychopath, etc. It's what you make of her. Both robotic Puppets and fallen humans have this to share. I like that.
Finally, someone who understands that Chara seems to be influenced by the player.

My first thought upon opening this video was essentially like… flinching from a punch. THIS IS GONNA HURT BOY. Usually I watch this the day it comes out on Patreon, then comment the day it goes live. Give myself time to think on it, listen to it a few times. But I can’t wait on this one, it’s just… God I don’t even know if I can bring myself to listen to this a second time.
So first of all, the art. Oh boy, Steel’s art! Mixed with Toon’s lines and some very nice colors by Brodingles. The colors in the flashback scenes are very nice, it’s a nice watercolor effect that I really like. The artwork here is REALLY amazingly done. The blurring effect on the background in the first image gives a really great sense of space. I have always really liked the way Steel draws the Dreemur’s ears? It seems like an odd thing to focus on but he always gives them such dimension and flow, they always look very dynamic. His work is always very sharp which really adds to the intensity of some of these images. The shot of Asriel being stabbed in particular had me gasping out loud when it was revealed, I didn’t expect that level of brutality but God it really gets the whole situation across. My favorite shots are of Asgore and Toriel at the end, the intensity in their expressions. Those faces have gotten across just how much the Dreemurs have been shattered in a way nothing else has.
So. A lot of UT fancontent mostly focuses on the Skelebros. I have nothing against the Skelebros and I too am guilty of Sans being my fave (though I wish all characters got more focus as a whole but that’s neither here nor there). Looking at most fancontent, you’d think the bone boys are the focus of the game. They’re not. The real story of Undertale, the thing that truly defines the game, the Underground, ALL OF IT, is really the Dreemurs. Flowey’s end tag for this musical jokes about the story being about goats trying to adopt a child, but… it actually is and I feel like this musical has captured that so well. So many songs bring back Toriel and Asgore (Toriel in particular, I’ve noticed, has more solos and features than any other character. I’m not complaining at all, haha, it’s so good), making it clear just how much their pain has colored the whole Underground. It’s the story of how this family was destroyed and how the love of one child finally mended the pieces. Of course Frisk can’t fix everything. I feel like this song in particular was a truly brutal illustration of what the loss of a child can do to a marriage and a family. Chara and Asriel aren’t really coming back (as much as fix fics would love to change that and as much as I love them) Toriel and Asgore will never be together again.
Ugh I am rambling. But this song just captures the story so perfectly. The harmony of the family before everything gets wrecked, Asriel and Chara’s friendship, the way it’s all ruined. Ugh. Chara’s voice actor, Eisibee, does a GREAT job and makes me real bummed they’re only in for one song. The line “looking up, I see the sky” is just so beautifully sung. I can only hope there will be some Chara comic dubs, because I want to hear more of their voice and Asriel and Chara interacting. I actually really wish we could get some stuff about what actually happened with Chara’s plan? Eisibee does such a good job, I feel like we’d be getting less generic “demon Chara” and more nuance, which I’d love to hear. The duet on “Let’s be friends!” is so good and the amount of pain in both Chara and Asriel’s voices when Chara dies is just… my heart just broke. Atwas does an amazing job as always, the part where Asriel dies is just… ow why.
But the real standout here is Asgore and Toriel’s fight. My God. Asgore’s “everything has been taken” just sounds like he’s holding back tears before it turns to rage, which is a perfect summation of his actions. Toriel’s response is PERFECT, the way she snarls out “I’ll keep them safe from YOU” is so at odds with her normal sweetness that it feels like being punched in the gut. It’s amazing. That exchange right there has captured that moment where their marriage broke better than anything else I’ve ever heard. It’s perfect. I could go on forever.
Also you’re the actual worst for ending that whole exchange with the in game shot of the family photo. I thought you LIKED your viewers, Alex, but I can see I was mistaken. THE TRUTH IS YOU’RE A BIG JERK.
The finale with Frisk approaching Sans in the Judgement Hall is really great. I can already imagine in the final version with the script, this song will close with the bells that herald that part of the game which should be suitably dramatic. I am very pumped to hear Steel voice act that part, God I cannot wait… but I’m also more than willing to because I’m sure it’s going to be great. The fact that the release of the songs is coming to a close breaks my heart, but I’m so excited for the voice acting of the script. Everything this channel offers is such high quality, I’m sure however long we’ll have to wait it will be worth it.

The whole musical is a masterpiece in itself and I'm incredibly glad to have come across it... but this, *THIS* section of it, the Undertale, and most specifically the scene where Chara is having their last moment with Asriel, 4:10 through 4:28, gets to me so DAMN much....
"Now, at your home again Let you, be, *Blessed*", the way he says that last word, the way he says *Blessed* just... makes me tear up ;w;
You can HEAR the mixed emotions in it, the sadness of losing his best friend, the anguish of realizing they're gone, that he'll never see them again, barely holding his tears as his whole body aches from the pain of loss... but amidst it, the heartwarming, deep love Asriel feels for Chara, wanting nothing more than his precious, best friend to: "Here, in the golden flowers may, you, rest..." , to honor and respect Chara's dying wish, and to ensure, whenever they'd be then, to rest forevermore peacefully in the place they loved.
It's.... so beautifully emotional and in character that makes me at a loss for words, tears almost flowed down my eyes countless times *just* remember this scene.
Makes the following chain of events so, so much more tragic in my eyes, how such a sweet, kind and loving soul like Asriel, one of a kind, could meet such a tragic, unforgiving and unfair ending... it breaks my heart ;w;
Just like Frisk is the kind of friend Asriel wished he had, Asriel is the kind of friend I wish *I* had.

Asriel's painful "Oh, mom, dad...Howdy...I'm fine" officially broke me. I broke up straight into tears. It was just too much for me!! Especially since the Dreemurrs remind me pretty much of my own family which was fine at first but eventually broke down into million pieces, leaving nothing else than pain

i feel so sorry for Asgore and Toriel. Their son gets killed by people while he tried to bury his dead best friend. Asgore gets so angry that he starts trying to kill humans. Then Toriel, instead of convincing him not to, jut runs away. Asgore gets even more depressed- It's like having Toriel dead but worse. He has now lost his children and wife- his only family members. Toriel's life is a wreck, Asgore's life is more of a wreck. Asriel and Chara get reincarnated into a bunch of demon... things?

Well all the humans necessarily didn’t hate the monsters. They were both intelligent, and probably lived in villages together. It’s very likely that some were friends. Like the kid monsters and humans probably at least had some friendship because they were innocent. Then they grew up, and had to fight to honor their family’s wishes and expectations. But hey, that’s just a theory.
