Did you know that in Tagalog, "NYEBE" means SNOW, but the lyrics make you wonder why it's associated with SNOW. The lyric, created by Pablo, gains intrigue due to its title. In my research, I discovered that when you look at human tears under a microscope, they resemble snowflakes. This song was made during the pandemic when many people missed their loved ones due to being unable to go outside and meet them.
Pablo metaphorically suggests that just like winter, characterized by sadness and coldness, eventually gives way to a thawing period where everything melts and dries, signifying our ability to overcome worries. He draws a parallel between this seasonal transition and the human experience, linking it to the microscopic view of snowflakes resembling tears, emphasizing the temporary nature of difficulties and the eventual return of warmth and resolution.

Again no offense and I love your breakdown but if you watched this video there is no way you would ask us if we know that NYEBE means SNOW. We go in depth of our interpretation of this beautiful song. Again no offense just very curious. Thank you 🙏 and God bless.

For me, my interpretation of Nyebe by pablo is more on stories of filipino families where a lot of providers go overseas for work and so they get separated. Nyebe or snow is somewhat how one survives the pain of separation, remain cold emotionally until that snow melts wc means eventually all these difficulties/snow will end and they'll be back in each others arms. But for the meantime, the phone calls (marinig lang ang tinig) will suffice.

Thank you for your RV and continued appreciation of SB19❤.
Pablo and his rich lyricism ably conveys topics that may otherwise be harder to discuss in real time. I always appreciate his efforts to compose in either Filipino or English, it helps the audience bridge cultures via music. It all depends now on the listener, if they wish to stick to its face value meaning or dig deeper and truly comprehend what the song is all about. I truly like how it allows even former Filipinos, who for some reason already lost touch with the rich Filipino language and culture, this allows them another way to touchbase again, or even for foreigners who later on discovers more about the Philippines and its culture.
That is also why their fanbase runs across different age groups. There is something for everyone across the board.❤

When Panlo writes a song he instantly know when it’s gonna be in English or Tagalog or mix. Yeah, like ILAW… He definitely know that it should be in Tagalog. It may not come up as good as it is if he did it in English (you know what I mean). Let’s just hope that Pablo would come up to a beat for English like WYAT. Btw, they will be releasing a new song MOONLIGHT this coming May 2 @12mn here in the Philippines so that would be around 12nn there.

the snow represents the things that you think will not happen to you, (referenced by the absence and impossibility of snow in the tropical philippines). and when you face these things, eventually you'll make it work out and bring you to a better situation-like snow that will eventually melt when sunny days come.
what i love about sb19 is that they are always true to their experiences. no matter what language they use, they convey their songs in very poetic ways.

Ken’s part is like real life experience. I don’t know how true, I have not heard him said it, but I was told Ken’s parents left him with his grandparents when he was so little and saw them twice only before they came home for good. They were working in Malaysia for thefamily. They just came home when Ken is already earning well. Enough to build a house and support them in his province. He lost his grandparents when SB19 were just starting to really do well. Imagine how he felt when the pandemic came. The uncertainties and the fear that he may not see them alive. The Filipino Overseas Workers who were all out there and their families that time? Thus, this song is so special for many of us. A masterpiece indeed!

I relate to this song deeply. Me and my family had to escape War back in the 90s. We were seeking refuge and been in many refugee camps. I’ve witness many international individuals that have left home to work and support the Family back home. This was a very common thing during my youth. I know exactly from experience the loneliness and Longing you feel. The adjustment you have to make in a new country with a new language and culture. This a beautiful song sonically and the Lyrics are just simply amazing.

I think most ballads are in Tagalog because of the poetic nature of the language. My suggestion to them starting with the first WYAT tour was to put the English translation behind them when they sang ballads on stage. Nyebe was first sung to us Amercans during WYAT and you could feel the emotion at the concerts. It was only when the visualizer came out after the tour was over that we understood the translation. Every reactor I saw cried a second time when they new the true meaning! I don't know how an all English ballad would be. If anyone can write one it would be Pablo.

When I listen to this song, I feel like they are singing this to their parents or love ones who sacrificed their family life by moving away as overseas workers and being away from them. Love your perspectives, and they're on point. Nyebe is low key one of my favourite songs of SB19 and it's because it encapsulates a lot of the Filipino reality. It's no secret that the Philippines biggest export is probably its people, and so many Filipinos go through life living away from their family so that they can make money abroad to send it back home and make life better for their loved ones. The aspect of snow takes on a different meaning too when you think that a lot of Filipino move away from their tropical country to live in a colder, harsher world overseas so they can make money and support their loved ones.
The way you guys broke down the whole time aspect - y'all get it. The verse about seeing time fly, and about wanting to break its wings to make it stop is just such a deep, beautiful verse and I feel like a lot of people overlook the imagery behind it. On its own it sounds like such an aggressive sounding thing to say. But in this context it shows the kind of the desperation that people have to make the most out of the time they have. Because as y'all say, it's the only thing that can't be bought or bargained or recouped.

Since we are Filipino, generally speaking, their goal is culture exposure. Most of their songs are in Filipino or tagalog. And they do also English ones. Sometimes it has more impact when you sing it in tagalog than English. Personally, we have OPM (Original Pilipino Music done in english), better if compose songs in English rather than make 2 versions one being translated. It is better if English word is translated in tagalog than the other way around.

It's melancholic yet hopeful. I believe this was composed by imagination, meaning Pablo may not have experienced snow yet at that time. So, that shows a lot in creativity. Pablo said the use of language has to do with how he feels. Obviously, he can write all songs in English but there are just things better expressed in Tagalog. So, one of you got what he meant. Besides, they want to keep it PPop so they have to stick with the language even if it's "Taglish" or combo of 2 languages.

I agree with King Bro. This sentiment also works for people working in a regular 9-5 job.
I mean I'm like that, and sometime it is stressful or you're just plain bored and when you're at home you just want to either just sleep or watch tv.
Just because your at home with you kids doesn't mean you'll be actually spending time with them. You can be with your loved ones and be like a zombie, you know what I'm saying. It's like you're there but not there. You're on auto pilot or something.
It has to be intentional. You have to be be actively there and sharing the moment with your loved ones.
I love watching reaction videos like this. This is like me and my friends, hanging out. Talking about stuffs. We can be just watching MTV but we'll end up talking some deep stuffs. Keep it up guys. I love tit.

My opinion is that some things are better expressed in Tagalog (or other Philippine languages) since there are expressions, phrases and thoughts that are unique to Filipino culture. This is Ppop, Filipino pop, similar to but not quite western pop. I like that non-Filipinos are learning our language and getting a flavor for our culture through their songs. The world doesn’t need to keep conforming to the west. Let them come to our side of the world, our culture. Let them open their horizons. It’s an open door.

I thought it's a sad song because of the questions at the first part: What is uncertainty, longing, and hopelessness?
But then, it's a happy song. A hopeful song. He's questioning you, why you question all negative things that happen in your life when all those things are necessary for you to appreciate good things that you will have after.
It doesn't snow in the PH. I was curious why Pablo wrote such song. I mean not literally. I'm just curious why not rain? Why snow? Then here we go with the body of the song:
Chorus part says, "I know that it's impossible, but why does it pouring snow?"
Snow is tears. When you look at your tear in a microscope, it looks like an image of frozen with snow. In the lyrics, "All that snow will finally melt."
Means, all those things that are making you cry will be gone.
But it doesn't mean that snow is negative. It's about still being happy even though you're in desperate times.
That's why he quoted Richard Bach at the end: How can we resent the life we've created for ourselves? Who's to blame, who's to credit but us? Who can change it anytime we wish, but us?

Hoping your family are with you to ease the cold & longing.. so by just hearing their voices were just enough to Melt the Cold & Ease the Loneliness.. 💕🇵🇭

It's best live, the first time I heard this song was in their concert and it made me emotional, imagine hearing this alongside their badass songs Hella Rollercoaster ride of emotions 😂.

In the Philippines we don't have SNOW (NYEBE) i wish we had though - but if you look SNOW under the microscope it is somehow simillar to human tears, its like a crystal ... so basically the the interpretaion is, soon tears will disappear just like snow (nyebe) and there will be a new day ...

please try to comment the song"Love Yours" of Sb19 in Collab with Korean Producer Oh Won Lee, this song was written by Pablo and Oh Won they don't have an MV of this song only a visualiser, like the Nyebe song, this is all in English

With regards to writing all English songs. It is not hard for SB19 to do that but it will still not go mainstream here in the US because the music industry here will not allow it.

I get all your points, on one hand, an all english song would have a better chance of entering the American music scene (yes there Americans who already know SB19 but to be real, they hardly made a dent, especially without a US promoter 🙏🏽) and some songs really should be untouched by an english translation, both I agree with. With SB19, i think those who come to know them would not mind listening to an all Flipino lyrics, but I understand No Drink, its hard listening when you also wouldve wanted to sing along 😃 so maybe, meet halfway, learn the Filipino language 😃. Thank you for loving Ken's voice, reactors usually notice only the vocal "powers" of Stell and Pablo (i love those two, all of them btw, but Ken more specially, sorry for me there's usually someone who would stand out in a group).
I really wish theyd put out more music, but without a global scale promoter like Kpop has, it would take a really long time... Hope more and more people around the world notice them and buy their music, so theyd have better budget to churn out songs and have world tours, but in some ways, it's good theyre not yet that up there so their concert tix wont go up as well. I am going to see them this May at their Pagtatag Finale! 🎉🎉
