- Today I unbox a package direct from Japan to make another childhood dream come true. The Seiko SCED035 is a re-issue of the now legendary "Ripley" watch originally designed by the highly acclaimed Italian car designer Giugiaro. In this episode I revisit my favourite aspects of the James Cameron science fiction epic and explain why this watch was so perfectly cast in the "Aliens" movie. I also go into a brief history of Giugiaro and finally I share my first impressions of the watch in an unboxing.

It's strange how I had never noticed the watch Ripley wore in any of the films, I guess my horological tendencies came later. Never be afraid to geek out, your enthusiasm was infectious. You hit all the high notes, the watch just *fits* the film.

Just received one today...I love it!
I got mine from Japan also. I never noticed the watch until my gf pointed out it was being released again. I love aliens. I get lots of compliments on it. I took it to the watch shop in town to get it sized and the girls made such a big deal about the design.

Sci-fi classic, I always forget how intense the musical score is. Really glad you got your hands on one. And thank you always for putting in so much prep for your videos, even a simple unboxing. I think my favorite Giugiaro "future 80's car would be the BMW M1.

Steve McQueen's Tag Monaco from the 1971 film Le Mans. It's an iconic watch and is instantly recognisable due to its shape and colouring.

Yep. I love the movies Alien, and Aliens. I think I liked the aliens sequal a little more but both are awesome.

As far as watches in movies are concerned, I really liked Jason Bourne's watch from the movies. Those movies came out during my teen years so he's one of the coolest characters in my mind lol. He Wears a Tag Heuer Link Automatic. I do know of all the connotation Tag has these days but I would hope the movies redeem this specific model some lol.

Super Cool watch. Have run resizing, those folded links can be a fit fiddly to pop out the first time. Love the coating Seiko put on there.

It is very beautiful. I like that it is exactly the colour used in the movie. The bracelet is a little bit tricky to adjust.

Cool collector's piece
One of my favourite features in Seiko chronographs is when you reset the chronograph hand and it swings around the dial!
Very nice unboxing, recently bought a seiko 5, but this one was quite unique! :)
