It's great to see a decent review of this car .I've been running my ID5 for Just over a year now. It's a really nice big cruiser with loads of range.Mine is an ex demo 77K pro max.Highly recommended.
It's surprising how much we can get used to. I had an old car with burned out backlight on the centre console. It never bother me. I only remember they are gone when a passenger ask me how to work something. :)
Hi Tish hope your well, small world you worked at VW, my niece worked at VW Wrexham on the front desk and customer service, she was there for 6 years it was her bilingual Welsh/English speaking go her the job VW at Wrexham covered a greater area and in to Welsh speaking communities. As always a great video and a good review on the ID5, Take care
I did, I used to work in sales for a couple of years but I hated it. Loved talking about cars but hated selling them. However, I was always looked after by Volkswagen ☺️ Sounds like your niece was a real asset to them.
On the latest ID.5 Match Pro the range is extended to 342 miles and power increased to 286PS and 0-60 in 6.7 seconds and the sliders are now illuminated lmao, I get mine at the end of July
14:19 VW seems to be reaching with their vehicles which means low sales. This is a very good 👍 attempt to regain buyers, but not nearly enough. Always a great 👌 review Tish.👍😊👍😊👍😊.
How weird, I collect my ID5 tomorrow (Monday 12th)! We got a smidgen over £13k off the car. I'll miss the Hyundai Ioniq 5 we've been running, but sometimes an offer is too good to miss out on!
Right off the bat: the style. Many people would say that VW models lack distinction but that's not always a bad thing. If it aint broke, no need to fix it. Now there are some mistakes that needs to be addressed. A prop rod instead of hydraulic hood struts at this price? Zonk! Aluminum throttle and brake pedal, but a plastic dead pedal? Where's the consistency? Zonk! Infotainment system is not the best, but since it's a top spec, it should be better. Zonk! That damn spoiler on the trunk. Not only is it unnecessary, but it obscures the driver's rear vision. Either a trunk lip spoiler would've worked, or provide a digital rearview mirror. Zonk! But in all fairness, the ID.5 still gives you enough bang for your buck which makes it a worthy contender against its competitors. Great review Tish.
@@PenFriends Careful when buying a used EV. How many miles has it traveled? A new EV has a battery that is under warranty for 120K miles or 8 years, which ever comes first. Over the years, batteries suffer degradation. If a used EV has driven 80K miles over the last 4 years, well it has burned a lot of juice.
Did you accidentally swipe the climate control when resting your hand to operate the main touch screen? All that money off is tempting, I suspect more money off later if VW aren't meeting the 22% electric target
VW is not a make I’ve ever moved towards, I remember all the grumbles regarding software issues that VW decided to reproduced in other ID versions, have they finally addressed all this now..? 🤔

Hi Tish, looks better than ID 4. Electric, should be available for all. Electric car would be great for low miles me. But long distance drivers need choice of cars. Bullying governments. Should back off. Car mobility is freedom of life and choice.
No, it is not the best time to buy any EV right now. EVs will continue to get better in the near future and prices are going to drop considerably, so why buy a very expensive EV now? In my opinion EVs are worth it only for small city cars, if anyone needs them. Large cars meant for traveling are better off being ICE or Plugin hybrids for now.

For a split second at 03:43 I thought the cable was a hose pipe and she was about to give it a quick rinse!
Does any model have 360° camera's ?
Love our tish, you remind me of a young Vicki Butler-Henderson

Nice looking car...Sporty looking if only they would put a R 34 or GTI engine into it. Then i might buy one. I love the hat Tish by the way. 😉
I enjoyed watching the Video Review. I have quite a few on the road 😊
Glad you enjoyed it! Yes I see lots too 😂

Lovely car. Excellent review
Glad you liked it!
2024 id4 or id5??
Remind me someone.....what's the range figures for this car?
For the GTX; up to 328 mile range (combined WLTP)
If they were any good they wouldn't need a £12000 discount to sell them. The ID range are not selling in VW's biggest market which is China
That’s a fair enough point but I think they’re really good cars, just priced a little too premium.
In the beginning of the video where you stand next to the car, it looks like a giant. Is this actually that big? How can you park such a big vehicle?
It is actually really big yes. I think with surround parking sensors, rear view camera and auto parking it’s as easy to drive as a much smaller car
@@AutoSocialUK Overall I find the Tesla model Y a far more competitive offer. It is cheaper. Why would anyone pick an ID5 over a Model Y?

Great review, but looks very cheap inside for a VW!!
Maybe as a used buy due to the huge depreciation, but as a new car even on a lease, IMHO they are way overpriced, even with the discounts.
Hopefully lots of manufacturers will start to bring down the prices of new cars soon

Software and dash layout HAD TO be changed for ID7, as for me the other ID models are flawed and hamstrung by it!

Good review still very expensive for what you get.. Volvo EX30 much better vehicle IMHO.
On which point? For families the EX30 is a complete no go!
The space in the back is equivalent to what you find in a Hyundai I10.😂
@@Greatdane-qf8kddepends on your family. Not for everyone, EX30 perfectly suits our family.

An ex30 would fit in the ID5 2 times. Besides the ex30 interior looks like sh*t.

Nope, never ever. Tesla & BYD for the win...

There's never a good time to buy a VW!
Absolute garbage of a car seriously.
