Bailey, don’t be nervous about support staff being in there! You have to stay consistent with your students! Teach and interact with the students as you would if the support staff wasn’t there! You got this!!
bailey you should do that! But don’t do it all the time or at least make sure it’s still bright because some kids prefer lots of lights and some kids get headaches from being in that weird dark but bright setting at the same time.

Bailey, here's a trick I learned using my Cricut. When I get air bubbles with my vinyl, I take a needle/pin poke the bubbles then I use a squeegee to smooth the vinyl. Good luck and have fun with your 1st year.
A tip from my cooperating teacher back in the day, I teach middle school now, but using highlighter to write an ‘m’ on your master documents. The yellow highlighter will not copy through! So cool! I need to film a whole #FirstYearTeacherAdvice video series on my channel with these types of tips lol

For the attendance magnets I would have each student move their own... Just with COVID, you should try to limit as many students touching other things as you can! Your room is amazing.

We focus on the kids - we LOVE when the teachers feels like they can be themselves around us! I've become such great friends with the teachers I supported!
Don’t worry about support staff judging you. I was the school librarian, as part of the support staff we are there to help. Besides we were are beginning teachers once upon a time ourselves

My high school has classes and has certain assemblies about capturing kids hearts and i’m in the classes and it’s like a leadership class. And we get to go to different events and help others, and i’m a christian so like i eventually want to go to different conferences around the U.S and share the word & that’s like a life goal of mine honestly
I’m going to start teaching next fall and I am wanting to start saving up and getting things for my classroom. How much $$ would you say I need to save up when talking about decorations and school supplies with being a first year teacher and what are some things you suggest I should start to getting now?? Definitely start collecting books now! You’ll never have enough of those! I can’t really pinpoint an exact number but I would say just get things here and there starting now so it’s not too much at once!
