Trent, I totally agree with you. The 30-30 is a great deer rifle. I started out with a Winchester Model 94 in 30-30 and then went to a Marlin .35 which I still own. Then a boatload of different bolt actions only to come full circle ⭕️ and now all I hunt with is a Marlin 1895 in 45-70. All the lever actions are perfect for the land that we (my son and I) hunt. I own a farm probably not far from you. We are in Laurens South Carolina. My son also hunts with another Lever action now. He uses a Marlin Trapper 45-70. They are all great for our terrain.
