the christopher reeve doc hit me hard, i had a spinal surgery back in 2014 and was never supposed to walk again and was paralyzed for a few years then out of nowhere i was able to feel my legs and feet and from there i was in physical therapy for 2-3 years and went from using a wheelchair to a walker and now a cane and have walked through disneyland on my own

19:48 Stay at home parent here. We took 2 major vacations in 18 years. We had one vehicle for 8 years. I did community theatre at night because it was free and gave me a break. It was allllll worth it. My kids are now functioning adults and I am mid forties and retired from my main drive in life. The daily grind. Dude, find the blessings in every situation. Usually the most basic blessing, you get to be there, there are lots of parents that would pay dearly to be in your position. Their situation is worse and they just wish in the midst of it all that a tantrum at the store would be a relief from the challenges they face. You are your children’s god for a majority of their childhood , be kind and guiding.

Understandable, I was about 6 when Superman came out in '78, it was the second movie parents ever took me to, the first being Star Wars in '77. Those two movies sparked my love of all things scifi and superhero. I remember when Reeve was injured and how close it hit to home because my favorite older brother was paralyzed in a car accident in 1980.

I remember the scary timing of y'all getting strikes with Arcane *as* Jay was quitting his restaurant job and how much it spooked the channel. Feels like just last year, but no, that was 3 years ago (holy crap!)
I'm old enough to remember Mr. Reeves accident and his struggle was all over the papers in the world. I watched the first Superman movie in the theater and he was one of my first crushes. Later as an adult and after I read about his life after the accident I knew he was a super man in RL more than he was on the big screen. This documentary will wreck me, that is for sure but he deserves that we watch this and remember him not only for being Superman, but for never giving up and shining bright no matter the obstacles.

Fun fact: some people have also built a giant library in Minecraft where people can create 'books' which contain current news events, so that people who live in countries where news is censored can go to this minecraft server and find out what is really going on in the world.

yeah the leak is from the Annecy Festival in France that took place in July. Writers and animators from the show held a panel there and officially showed a clip where she does what you’re talking about.
Man that super/man documentary I won't forget when i first saw it. It was the middle of a RUclips funny video and I get a ad break and man the most depressing to tone shift was insane whiplash.
I too was raised on those Superman movies. Superman is also my favourite superhero and its all down to Christopher, the man really was a hero and always will be. I even got a tattoo of the superman classic logo because i love that character so much. Reeve portrayed Clark and Kal-El to perfection. 💚

First ‘Still’ about Micheal J Fox, now this, back to back gut punches, reminding you that not only are our idols people, sometimes, they’re heroes- real, actual heroes. Christopher Reeve is and always has been Superman, not due to a cape, or a symbol, but because he always did the most important thing the character did- he gave us hope. But unlike Superman, Christopher was real. He was a real, tangible, wonderful man, who stared down all the odds with the help of his family and friends, purely because he had that fire in his heart, and because people needed help. If that’s not Superman, I don’t know what is.

My understanding is that Isekai as a genre involves the death/near death of a character, leading to a rebirth in another world. An example I always think of from western media is Warriors of Virtue. Another example would be 2001's Black Knight starring Martin Lawrence. It typically involves moving into a fantasy or scifi reality that is at a different point on the timeline from the MCs original life.
