+CncObsession The lathe is still in the same state that the video shows. I really need to get stuck in and finish it but have had other work that needed to be done. I'm still thinking of changing to s smooth stepper and Mach 4 or Linux CNC, I would like a spindle sensor with more than one signal per rpm. A tool turret would also be nice. I've still got me manual lathe and turn a lot of small parts in my Tormach so there's no great rush to get it done. Cheers, Greg

Have you changed the original drive to VSD at all?
