We just took our family winter road trip in our new VB WRX and loved it! Fun and family friendly. FL5's are low $50k, GRC's are low $40k and we got our base WRX for $29k.

My only concern is no numbers or R on shift knob. I valet my cars a lot and don't want guessing or mistakes. I also have 3 cars and the shift patterns are different on each. Also I have friends drive my cars and would rather not rely on memory. So I love the change and feel of a weighted shift knob with numbers and a letter!

Picked myself up a billetworkz short throw and weighted knob to install after winter. This video just added to my excitement to install once out of storage.
Was also pleasantly surprised to see Ellie riding with you. I also have a new baby girl around the same age and was under the impression I couldn’t put a rear facing seat in the brz. Don’t go anywhere with her without the mrs. anyways so just take the accent or crv but nice to know for the future

please get a 9th gen! I just bought mine for a similarly inflated price and bit the bullet. loving the car so much so far, I would love to see some more 9th gen content on youtube. they are such great cars. you are one of the many reasons I wanted one in the first place. I gotta say though, the search for one wasn't easy. That is partly why I caved in and spent too much on one. These cars are seemingly becoming more desirable.

That's the main reason I got rid of my Gen 2 Brz. The VB has been coming in clutch with all the space, especially when I have people with me. That AWD does have its wonders.

Where I live in Phoenix (and really the whole Phoenix area) prices have either remained stagnant or gone up slightly. Arizona is a different ballgame because it's on the list of sought after states to move. Anyway, homes prices haven't dropped in general with the Fed raising the prime rate continuously this past year because nobody believes these current rates will stay. This has all been the Fed's way of trying to artificially influence not only home prices but spending in general. So in short, people are just riding out this storm. Unfortunately some folks don't have this luxury and have to move when life calls sometimes, but many will just wait this out. This is also why the stock market has gone way up these last few weeks, as the Fed has signaled no more rate increases and even signaled reductions coming in 2024.

I bought my 2014 SI in 72k miles for 13,900. Definitely not a $15k+ car. A 9th gen with a PRL or even a budget turbo kit would make for a great series.

Cam, I’ve been looking at 9th gen civic si’s here in TX. It’s incredibly hard to find a decently clean one or one with less than 100k mi. It’s ridiculous. Been looking for months. I’ve also considered a clean 8th gen civic si as a cash car. Car market is rough. Nonetheless, love the content!
Me too. I’ve been trying to find a coupe 9th gen 2014 or 2015(with the new facelift) and I can’t find one for a good price all the ones with less than 80k miles are $20k or more. And there’s two in my area going for 13k but it has more than 150k miles
@@alejandrinii9957 Exactly that. If I can even find a 9th gen coupe/sedan with less than 100k mi, they want $18k+ for it. The car could’ve been in an accident if not more than one or have a branded title. It’s unbelievable.

What car would you consider as a better daily? I’m on the fence b/w buying BRZ (more fun) or Tesla Model 3 (more comfort/savings) for a daily.
Best daily for a car enthusiast for the money is a 10th or 11th Gen Si. Intake, exhaust, tune and you have a quick car that gets 32+ mpg average

Elantra N is too hardcore for daily use. That thing is more track forcused compared to something like the si or golf GTI
I would base your choice on your typical journey and what you are going to use the car for. If you’re commuting in heavy traffic then the Tesla is the less fatiguing car. If you’re not just using the car for work but also for pleasure and your not constantly in traffic the BRZ is hands down more fun. Tesla’s maybe faster but they have no driver engagement. It’s why they are easy to drive in traffic.

You never had an 8th Gen you should try to get one..plus they're somewhat affordable unlike the 9th Gens. I see them all the time around $4-7k
I agree. The k20 in the 8th gen was so much better too. You can put a real header on it where the 9th gen has the “header” built into the head and uses a down pipe. With an actual header you can play more with the set up. The length of the tubes for example. Or the cylinder pairing, 1-2,3-4 or 1-3,2-4. One give more low tq and the other is more high end hp.

@notsure3535 see that's the problem all budget China crap no offense. Depends on vehicle and budget but typically Low end go bilstein or koni yellow, mid go ohlins, high go mcs. You really need go drive or purchase a set of ohlins so you get idea what good suspension is. Yes it's a big up front cost $2k but they'll last forever and can resell for almost same amount.

So as far as you selling the GRZ. Ain't a bad move as long as thats what ya really wanna do. You do not need this car for the track. The type R is perfect for the track. FWD cars just have an issue with tire wear cuz the front tires are doing the driving, steering, and braking. Otherwise. Good drivetrain. GRZ is my cup of tea. Practicality is probably what i SHOULD build my car for, but even tho i do a daily commute with my car to work and back, i do want to track it and autox more. So i bought coilovers, an oil pan baffle, etc etc. Enough rambling about me. If selling the car regardless of how practical it can be is still a good idea, you're not in a bad spot. You still have another track ready car.👌🤌👍
