I'll never stop voting No Man's Sky for Labor of Love award on Steam. Thank you once again, Hello Games.
Just finding out about this award and I will now also be voting for them
Agreed. Every year.
it's no RDR 2 with its continued, consumer-friendly support, but it's up there for sure.
@@ciaacho1 rdr2 stopped bringing updates and they still aren't patching many bugs and glitches breaking the game
@@ciaacho1 I disagree. RDR2 was great from the beginning. NMS Dev team has been dropping free incredible updates for years. As far as updates go RDR2 is not close to this dev team.
Holy shit. 7 years of free DLC is insane!
Its called fixing your fucking game lol.
years ago developers simply didn't know that they can name updates DLC and sell it for money, what a good times
@@SliceOfLife93 at one point, this would've been common sense to say but now that they already delivered what was promised years ago
they're well beyond just "fixing the game" now, so its basically free DLC at this point lol
It's not DLC it little update, also game lagging like shit
@@SliceOfLife93they're actually beyond what they promised. You could always pay Ubisoft 70$ for half a game that they will monitor you on and never truly fix or come through on....or poke yourself in the eye with a sharp stick...at least thats faster.
OUR JOURNEY CONTINUES!
Live long and prosper, hello games
I love how she reads the line this go-around, as if to say to the recent doomers “Nope! Omega does NOT mean LAST!”
I just can't believe we are getting such quality content for free! Over and over!!!!!!!!

Space stations OMG 😂 whatever next ❤

Oh ? Really ? OMG !
I always give HIGH praise to the Devs at Hello Games. You guys never stopped and I always come back. Keep it up, can’t wait to see what the next years brings

Bigger than Final Fantasy XIV? Most likely still yes.

@Dark1Masta for sure, I quit playing it about a month after launch because, well it was boring. I recently restarted from the beginning and I'm hooked 😂

YES I was afraid that Hello Games was going to slow down on updates for NMS and going all-hands-on-deck for Light No Fire. So glad I was wrong.
Well, they did slow down bc its been 6 months since the 4.4. Not a complaint, jsut a fact.
@@dirtnap9641 I meant slow down to a halt.
I think LNF is gonna be better so I'm down.
Now 2024 has officially started🙆🏾♂️🙌🏾✨
wohoo lets get this going upp
I’ve never played no man’s sky, but bought a copy of the game after seeing internet historians video about it out of respect. Crazy it’s still getting updated.
The game should be put in a museum!
I got it as a preorder and holy damn I didn’t play it for about 5ish years and I’m really surprised how far it’s turned from its roots
It’s worth trying out at least once. I’m not really a survival game fan, so I toned down the grindier survival settings. You have FULL CONTROL over your difficulty settings. Want to be invincible and never have to gather a single resource? You can do that.
I haven’t even spoken about the insane Modding support either.
For the same reason I think Palworld gained traction, I think No Man’s Sky respects the player in a way most modern games don’t.
Hello Games was 100% poking fun at Starfield with that line "Skim across planets in this new ship" and the ship itself was called "Starborn Starship" lmao
where did you see the name of the ship?
@@BernardoPC117 says it when they hovers over the ship to enter it.
@@Saltitas I see now 😆
Thought it was interesting. Lol. What other reasoning could possibly apply?
And both games is totally shit, both games is empty and without depth.
Eight years later, still goosebumps with every trailer.
Wtf you get goosebumps watching a video game trailer? You have seriously something wrong with your brain
Unfortunately, all those No Man's Sky DLCs are just too boring to play. May be interesting only for new players
@@meincraft6015 it’s not boring. Not in the slightest. It’s just super overwhelming.

It's so cool to see it all change gradually since day 1
as a launch day player i would upvote but.. you sit at 16 likes and I dont wannt ruin it
@@elementfortyseven Understandable, that is perfect indeed
Yea I like how it was really good on day 1 and then redditors shit their pants so hard that the original artstyle has been watered down to nothing
@@chugbunga1665 It gained a new style. I myself liked it since the day one, but I really don't like that sepia color filter (which you can still turn on by the way). It still has the aesthetic of old sci-fi book cover, it's just much more colorful and detailed now than it was before.
60$ and cant customize ships for a game that is all about space 🤡
For someone who has played No Man's Sky since its launch back in August 2016, it still amazes me how so far this game has come after nearly 8 years of updates!
I have played the expedition, and so far, I have completed about half of it so far. I am going to try to finish it this week.
Hello Games is clearly one of the best indie developers in the industry right now, and with their upcoming new game Light No Fire, I hope that game is just much as great as No Man's Sky and has a better launch.
It all started back in late 2013/early 2014 when I watched the teaser trailer for No Man's Sky and blew me out of the water, and bought the game when it came out in 2016 after nearly 3 years of excitement and it was released in a unfinished state but, I loved it anyway and knew that Hello Games had long-term plans to update the game as time went on to improve and expand the experience.
No Man's Sky has been my favorite game for almost 8 years now, and it will continue to be my comfort game for more years to come.

I've said this a couple of times, at the launch of no man's sky I was more mad about the radio silence than I had been at any other game's company. You guys have turned it around and become one of my most respected devs ever. Great work. Looking forward to this and Light No Fire.
Yep. My thoughts exactly. The story of Hello Games’ redemption is one other studios should take note of.
Every aspiring game dev should be aware they CAN make things right with their game if they don’t act like buttheads about it.
Thanks guys! Can’t wait to explore more!

I owe you an apology. I avoided NMS for 7 years because of the launch. What a complete disservice that was to myself and to you.
I'm MAYBE 7 hours in, and I am already in love. Not only have you built the game you intended, but it seems to me you exceeded your own expectations and every one I had. What a tremendous story of dedication and perseverance, and ultimately full victory.
I know I haven't seen anything yet, and I already know NMS is going to become my favorite game of all time.
Congratulations on a stunningly beautiful masterwork. And thank you!!!!!
Freaking awesome. I have loved this game from the very start
Same, I still have my pre-sale ship
Oh come on, the release was absolute garbage. Everyone knows this lol.
@@SliceOfLife93 It really wasn't. It was missing a few things teased in the previews, which upset a lot of people, perhaps rightfully so, but was otherwise a completely functional and decent game. NMS was never legitimately dunked on for being a bad game, it was dunked on for being overhyped. It was at worst mediocre for some but highly enjoyable for others, mostly in the 7-8/10 range.

This devs singlehandedly make perfect updates every time
Beyond and waypoint would like to disagree, both incredibly buggy and the later even outright making the game worse

@@I_enjoy_some_things ok I know its a team of multiple devs, and wouldn't singlehandedly serve in this context as They did it themselves? since they didn't outsource?

【Shades Finnish Pirates】The pirate freighter was good addition, i still want to see humanoids to fight against like pirates and the game's greatest issue is that it lacks action while trying to keep a good PG rating
you know something i would always love if they added like factions and stuff and there would be like wars
Totally, i actually contacted the devs thorough a suggestion and made the point that they have in lore two warrior races the Vy'keen & The Gek (First born but 2nd gen kicked their asses eventually) but the warrior traits only exist in the lore. I also pointed out that like you can retain good PG rating by doing Korvax / Autophage robot pirates, i am all down for factions and big & small galactic wars.@@okbye5424

When the game got released, i found it for my standards pretty nice and it only got better and better with all these updates.
Right!? Yeah, it was totally not "as-advertised" but I honestly still played the crap out of it the first year or so. I've been absent since but I've been watching all the DLC since and I think Omega is what's gonna draw me back in to see WTF I'm in for all these years later lol

It's staggering how much this game has changed since I first stepped in at launch. Awesome job.
Let’s go!!!!
Thank you, Sean. For everything.
I Love yall so much!!!! ❤ Thanks for all the hard work!!!!
Meanwhile the devs at Hello Games making every other game's support cycle seem lacking. Wonder if they think 8 years of support is enough, it's nuts how much has been added.
NMS is, for all intents and purposes, a live service game. I know, it's probably weird to think about it like that but if you look at what NMS has accomplished over the years a Live Service Lens, you start to notice exactly how impressive a feat Hello Games has achieved.
- ~25 major content updates, for free
- Not a single microtransaction.
- The closest thing to a premium currency is only earnable thru gameplay
- Expeditions are an interactive season pass, again free. Doubly so this time with the game's first ever free trial weekend
All of this from a small studio of people who clearly love what they do, and it shows in spades. Compared to, like you said, other games' support cycles, often from huge developers with staff numbering in the hundreds, if not thousands, look bad compared to HG.
In the immortal words of Emmet Brickowski, "EVERYTHING IS AWESOME"!!! Good job, HG, good job. One tiny little thing though, new pirate freighter's color options do seem a little bugged right now, as if I select a markings color option, it causes some of the panels from the primary color pallet to be switched over to the accents color pallet and they don't really seem to switch back if one were deselect the markings color option.
Other than that, great update!
You have such a rich foundation laid to build an amazing and vast RPG experience. The improvements to the planetary mission system is proof of that. I love watching the progression forward. Thank you for all you do. But most importantly, thank you for loving the game and the community. We don't get much of either from developers or publishers anymore. Its not lost on us.
Whoa, they actually did something close to what I’ve wanted with expeditions before, starting them for main save and with some resources. Amazed they keep at it. Also looking forward to Light No Fire
This is the way
I could sense it, but right when I forgot, Hello Games just appears again and throws more magic into No Man's Sky.
Ya'll are ridiculously awesome!
YEAH!! HERE WE GO!
Wow! Can't wait to play it on PSVR2!
Thank you Hella Games.
Hello, can you bring more updates to your Town (the one you colonize or capture) and your workers make them more alive?
This is one of the main things NMS is missing imo. More “Expand and Explore” kinds of mechanics.
Seeing your base actually matter would be really cool. There are lots of games to take inspiration from. Heck, even RTS games.
you devs deserve more praise. you outlasted numerous live service games and I hardly see anybody talking about this one's major comeback. love you guys
This is amazing, you are amazing. Thank you for this gift that keeps giving. NMS is so much more than anyone ever hoped for.
(a shipyard allowing you to build your own ships and freighters is the main thing I wish for *pretty please* )
Where are the new space stations?
That will come in a later update this year.
@@2hotflavored666 I wish they focused on space stations before everything else. Space Stations being different and procedurally generated has been awaited since the game's release. I'm just so tired of them looking the same, I mean the standard space stations. The Pirate ones and abandoned ones aren't much different though.
Accessible black holes? What do you mean?
I was about to make the same question
maybe the singularity engine that was present in one of expeditions will be available on all freighters now?
Super excited!

You guys are actual legends. Like living heroes of game development. It's pretty unbelievable what you've achieved, and continue to do for people inside and out of the game.
More companies would be well served by following the example you are.
Side note, thank you for making The Last Campfire. I absolutely loved it 😊 I'll see you in Light No Fire!

I have genuinely no idea how the heck are you guys funding this along with the new game coming but wow. Huge respect, this truly is a labor of love.
They made like 240 million in 2022 alone. They're good. Me and some guys on Reddit calculated their costs vs their earnings and they are financially obscenely well set up

Yeah, cool. Where's the fauna generation we saw at E3 tho?
Yes, after all this years, the planets still look garbage.
Yea its not even worth making bases on most planets like the only reasons i go to them is for quests, making a place where i can teleport to that system or just to get materials
Well no new Space Stations unfortunately, kinda disappointed, these few things for 6 Months. But yeah at least a nice looking new Space Ship
I'm kind of disappointed too, I still might do the expedition then wait to actually start a new save until we have the new space stations.

The things that bother me about the game are
The character models- the sounds when running
The character models don’t move their arms when they swim
