Great tests! I would be interested in seeing tests for - orbiting a 3D camera in real time with video footage, how many layers before things start to chug - tracking - denoiser (Neat Video’s)
this what i waiting for. will be nice if you do m1max vs m1pro vs m1 for after effect. please tq. my current workflow most of time use ai,ps and ae. im using m1 right now it work good but need more better performance especially when u chase time and client. thanks
Don't get me wrong, you can orbit a 3D workspace but it's still struggling when working with 3D layers. I gave up on a project with lots of 3D layers just because it kept freezing over and over again (I suspect it's because running of memory, 16GB is just not enough). I have a video in which I show how bad it runs ae with 3d layers, you can watch that if you're interested (the one with MacBook Pro 2021 After 3 Months)
Thanks for watching! It should work just fine, this version of After Effects is still running through Rosetta, so Intel, so I can't see a reason to not work. The M1 native version of AE is still in beta, when the final version will come out, then it's a probability some plugins and extensions won't work but I think the developers will make them compatible very fast.
I think only from a certain point. If AE has enough space for memory caching, around 100-200gb (depending on how much you set and the complexity of the project), then it's enough
Depending on what kind of projects are you working on. From what I experienced, for projects involving 2D graphics (and some 3D here and there) the 16gb version is enough but for projects involving 3D graphics, VFX & compositing I would say that 32GB is necessary.
@@aksndrv im edditing music videos. I use some VFX and roto brush on it. There is an discount on the 16gb version in my city rn, thats why im about to buy it instead of paying almost 1k more for 32gb.You think thats enough then? Will i have problems? Im ok with waiting few seconds more for pre render or smth, just want to know if u think it will influence my workflow badly
@@n90archive10 there's so much going go. Look, I'm going to do a video today or tomorrow and I'm going to test a lot of different things cause too many people asked about the rotobrush, 3d, certain effects and so on. @@TheJosakat123 Thanks Samuel, task added. I will test stacking 3D layers. As for blender I don't know how to use it but I will make a separate video with Cinema 4D if it helps
Keep doing this mate you are the only person who tests After Effects on RUclips
Thanks a lot Malshan, I will :)
@@aksndrv I am a PC user but I am planning to move to MAC your videos are really helpful for that waiting to buy M1 Max iMac 27inch

Thanks for doing these!! Can you run these same tests with the new After Effects Beta that has native M1 support?
Another Masterpiece Aleksander! Very Good After Effects Test for M1 Pro, Thanks for comparing it to 13 inch M1. Great Work!
Thanks again Direk, I really appreciate!

what about After Effects in M1 Pro vs MBP intel i9?
what about roto brush=
Orbiting a 3D workspace is something I would like to see because desktops I used are choking with this
Orbiting a 3D workspace works just fine, no lagging for me
@@aksndrv woah really? that's nice I've been doing digital collage in 3d spaces

Thanks a lot for the video; well appreciated. Please can you confirm if ae plugins and extensions like motion bro are compatible? Many thanks

Does upgrading SSD ( more transfer speed ) from 500 GB to 1 TB help after effect in any way? Like memory swapping 🤔 or improvement in RAM preview?

Which MacBook Pro would you buy and which spec?
I would buy the Macbook Pro 2021 with M1 Pro and 32GB ram. This configuration can handle just fine most of the projects.
i cant afford the 32gb version. Is 16 still good for AE?
