We spent our last night in Marrakech in a restaurant with beautiful views. The nightlife in this city is incredible, this is something that shocked me.
The next morning our 3-day tour began. We got up very early and headed towards our first stop, the Atlas Mountains.
Our next stop was Ait Ben Haddou. It is an example of southern Moroccan architecture and is a UNESCO World Heritage. The views are amazing and make you go back in time. No doubt why so many Hollywood movies were filmed here.
Inside this place there is a lot of art and people selling their handmade products. After 15 minutes we reached the top and enjoyed some beautiful views.
We continued our way to the rose valley. Sadly we couldn't see roses as their season is in May. Even so we were able to go to a store with rose products.
Our next stop was a women's cooperative. The Moroccan government is promoting these organisations so that women can work and generate income. The women taught us how wool carpets are made. The wool can be of sheep or camel origin.
They also explained to us that the carpets were used in the past to store things on top of the camels, every time they moved from one place to another. They showed us a lot of different coloured carpets and they were all beautiful.
We were a few kilometres from the desert. I was getting more and more excited to get there. But first we had to have lunch.
