Watch my Baviaanskloof series: • Trans Baviaans, Part 1...
The best overlanding channel on RUclips. No irritating music and your narration us the best I have heard. You are knowledgeable and know what it is all about.
Keep it up and looking forward for new videos.
Recently laid my Grandfather to rest here in Baviaanskloof on our family lands in April. I was a child the last time I came here. Was a surreal experience and will definitely hold a place in my heart. Looking forward to one day returning.👏
Thank you guys. I can say this a million times. I always get excited to see the other side of my country. Not travelled much, but i still dream of taking that one trip one day and thank you once again.
These are professional quality mini documentaries. Many thanks to you and Nicole as you bank some wonderful memories together for the future.
I simply cannot express just how much I enjoy your off roading videos. The scenery, experiences etc.............................top notch and so well filmed. Awesome!!
Awesome Channel. Your drone footage is spectacular especially when viewed on a big TV. Grew up in Cape Town - how did these amazing locations remain so unknown to us ?! Keep up the good work and looking forward to seeing more of your off-roading adventures.
Thank you for this spectacular view. I was travelling from Jansenville to Baviaans 8 years ago on a hunting trip. Like this video indeed.
Very cool Vid, you inspired me now to make this my next trip
Well videoed and narrated. Honest, your video skills are noteworthy. The trip is of course even better. From Namibia I have done some of the western/southern Cape, but not these roads. My bucket list just grew a bit longer......sheesh.
So nice to see this again. Done that route twice already. My soul completely nourished after watching. Please consider not to go hunting ... We saw no animals on our 2 trips - except for the monkeys at Doringkloof, of course
what a breathtaking landscape you have there. You are so blessed. Add to that all your explanations. Fantastic! Thank you for sharing. Greetings from Germany
Absolutely stunning video, as always! Loved Nicole's reaction to you pointing out the road up the mountain; such an amazing and beautiful landscape you're able to explore for yourselves, and for all of us! Can't wait for many more videos. Cheers
Eastern Cape, what a gem of a province!! Baie goeie vermaak Matt en Nicole. Hou so aan!!
Hello from Victoria, Australia. I really enjoyed your video and the beautiful scenery. If you ever get yourself over here to the Victorian High Country, please yell out! It's a beautiful part of our country!
Check out Tyler Thompson on YT. Equally impressive drone footage of the Victorian High Country
Another beautiful video!
I’ve been researching this route for a while now. Thanks for the video, I’ll be driving this route on my next holiday to Eersterivierstrand.
You have any website links or info to share?
Ongelooflike mooi natuur en videografie.
Funny enough I just watched your Die Hel road. We went down their my dad with the landcruiser and me and hubby with BMW both with caravan. We met Ferreira Ferreiras their and are still friends today.
Great video, great channel!
Well done, absolutely amazing...
Another exceptional quality production by Matt and Nicole. You guys both Rock Big Time............... Thank You!
It's so close to home. I'd like to explore more of this area one day soon. I love the Baviaans
Thanks for a terrific video, I am so glad you like driving tracks like that... it would scare me rigid, but its lovely to see where you have been and what you saw!
I live in the EC, have travelled all over in my baby Nissan 1400 😅 to visit projects. That road looks like it's in remarkably good condition.
An awesome part of the world, this video has inspired me to explore it some more as we start heading into summer and warmer weather.
Another epic episode! Matt, I have just in the past two weeks spoken to 4 random strangers (local travelers) and they all follow your channel! We could share links to episodes and your channel was a great conversation starter. I simply love watching and following your travels. Thanks for doing such an amazing job on taking us along and sharing the level of detail about the places.
PS; Please share the link for Gaia GPS for this trip.
Excellent presentation...thank you 🤙
Absolutely magnificent video. Very well edited. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Matt, matt. I travel along in every video; that beautiful images, all production is spectacular ... I'm a fan of this channel; I just have to thank you for providing so many beautiful places; big hug!!
Stunning views. If ever there was a landscape meant to be filmed with a drone, this is it. Great content and looking forward to more like this. Must be difficult to decide when to send the drone up when each new view is more spectacular than the last.
Exactly!!
Awesome scenery. And I love your vehicle good hunting
Brilliant video Matt. Thanks. We will be placing this route on our list.
this is my new favorite channel ❤👌
Awesome footage as always guys. Thank you
Loved this video, Matt and Nicole! Can’t wait to get our 4x4 under way starting from Windhoek, up to Victoria Falls and down through Maun….just hoping for some good luck in the travel department….fantastic cinematic quality💪✈️
I am doing a very similar route in a few weeks time!
Thanks for all the wonderful views and your amazing editing!
Almost as good as being there Matt! Thanks for sharing!
Bru this is an amazing episode. Thanks for sharing in such detail and keep them coming!
Thanks for sharing Matt, the baviaans and the Karoo are my 2 favourite places to ride 👌 will definitely follow this route at some point 👍
Thanks Matt, living vicariously through your videos 👌🏻
Thank you for such a wonderful video
Love the channel. Well put together videos and the bakkie is tops.
Awesome traveling with you guys... many more happy journeys together. South Africa has a diverse experience in traveling... truly only God's work.
Awesome video guys tks
Oh the Eastern Cape is really something. I've been around SA so many times, and EC always surprises me. Thank you Matt for this beautiful channel. If you find any tiny house settlements, please make a video. I need info on farmers or land for tiny house movement communities in beautiful isolated places where one can farm. Safe bru
Awesome. The two of you are so calm and collected.
Thanks for the excellent 4 videos of the Baviaanskloof. The photography and narration are just spectacular.
I'm so happy to have found this as thoroughly enjoyed your airgun videos. Even met you at Crossways one Sunday.
Awesome stuff, amazing video!!
Again, each video is always excellent and allows one to experience something they are likely to never enjoy, let alone imagine. Excellent
Great videos Matt & Nicole!!
I so enjoyed this. I'm subscribing!
Thanks for sharing this insane scenery route over the mountain you two! The views from up there looks unreal, would love to tackle that route someday, Baviaans is on our to do list, but this road ads a new twist to our ideas. :)
All I can say is Wow!!! Awesome footage. Well done. I just subscribed to your channel.
This is one part of South Africa I would like to explore!
Brought back some very fond memories. Did that trail from the other side in our Ford F250 many years ago
Wow this is so beautiful didn't even know about this place 👌very awesome
I love watching these "Getaway Adventures"!!
Matt. Great content. Cheers
Did the same trip about 2 years ago. Bought our Bushlapa offroad caravan and it was its maiden trip through Baviaans back to Sodwana Bay in Natal. Allso camped off grid as you did day one. Bonus of your video was just the mentioning off hunting and fx.😜 🤣🤣 Awesome video.
Great video. Did baviaans over the past weekend from patensie to willomore back to pe via grootrivier poort. It's one of my favorite trips .had a quick stop at the bushman drawings but ya with the swarm of bees down there now it's a no go area for a while ....enjoy the rest of your trip can't wait for the rest of baviaans trip.
Wow what a video! So professional 👏have subscribed immediately as we will be camping in the baviaans in the September school hols and this video has given a brilliant representation of what to expect 👌
went to high school in kareedouw, now live close to your ox wagon hunting spot, enjoy all of your videos, thanks.👍👍
Awesome video! Bucket list journey now
Great video and amazing route to the Baviaanskloof must try this next time I'm in the eastern cape. Thanks for sharing.
A great trail. Did it a few years ago. Awesome 👍🥂
Super interesting!
Thanks for another great episode. Would love to jump in the 4by and head into the bush for a few days.
Oh Man. What a sight.
Thanks for sharing that stunning drive.
Wish i had a vehicle to get up there.
feel free to share more vids of more drives up there.
We live in an amazing part of the world. Loved the video
Great video again, and I agree with Aubrey below, well done on how you do this. Keep on touring we will be watching
Awesome little adventure. There is another route in to Baviaans from the Rocklands road/tower. It's 4x4 only with some camp spots. Many river crossings as well. It comes out near bruintjies kraal camp areas in the end. And be sure to go to the waterfalls at poortjies.
That route was closed unfortunately!
beautiful
Love this.
interesting to see a vast area with no trees...but that's why you have the view ..being from west Montana I'm just not used to mountains with out massive trees
Hi Matt, is there anyway that you can maybe share that specific route?
Been stuck on an island in Vanuatu since covid started. Borders just reopened last month...since 2020. Planning to come home to SA in December. This was such a great video to remind me what I miss. Thank you.
Would a standard 2016 Jimny do this trail?
Thanks for taking the time to create this content!
What turnoff do you take at the start to get onto the gravel road (from Kareedouw)?
Splendid video with beautiful 'mountain' driving and glorious scenery.
I can't help but wonder when were those trails/roads built there, by whom and with what equipment.
By farmers, long ago, with donkeys and pickaxes!
@@mattdubber Amazing work!
Nice content
Stunning SA
Excellent video. Planning that route in the near future, because of your video. What do you do for backup, in case of a breakdown in remote area? Being just one vehicle.
Looks like an awesome trip. Would I be able to do it with my 4x4 camping trailer. Have already done the Baviaans towing it. Cheers
God is blessing the hills there with rain because you are there. Stay there. Don’t come back to the cities. There will only be chaos building up here all the the time.
Wow,what a beautiful drive.. A definite to do so...May I ask, would ld a 2x4 have sufficient clearance on this trail..
Heavy driver 😂😂😂❤ from India 🇮🇳
Wow. Well done. Take me with you next time please.
Many thanks for sharing!!! No nonsense - you inform us a lot of what's happening. Thinking of taking my bike and do the route. Camped a few times at Doringkloof - stunning place. Which app / GPS are you using on your phone? Would you be able to share the route?
Good video, what is the general ground clearance required for the rougher sections of the road? I am sure a Subaru Outback will be able cope well on this trail.
Because It is so increíble and fantástico I can't believe it
Wow that looks amazing would this route be capable to do in a Huyundai Tucson 2010 model ?
Really enjoy your channel. Definitely motivated me to get out there. What app do you use to navigate. Cell or is it a GPS unit. Please advise. Thanks
Great video guys, doing Baviaans gor the first timd next month and cannot wait!
Matt what mapping programme is that that you show the views of your route on and the elevation graph? Cheers
It is called Gaia GPS
Excellent! Matt please could you share the map or road information so I can set it up on GPS. I have never done a trip like this before. And want to go in my jeep....
Great video, thanks. How long was the drive from the turn off at Kareedouw to Doringkloof. I am thinking to do it on a weekend.
Good choice on the Jane Doe and the Stripey Stout, my wife and I hit that same combo pretty often. This route looks awesome, only thing Im a bit worried about is how tight some of the bushes looked, I drive an Everest 4x4 which I think would handle pretty easily but dont want to get it too scratched up. You recon it would be ok?
It was a bit tight! This is why I have scratch and dent cover, once a year I just take it in and get everything fixed😂
Where did you get that fold-away awning that goes halfway around the car? That is amazing.
Talking of being prepared - do you carry spare wheels/ tyres? Where you go blowouts could be bad news!!
Hi there. Great video, and great route! Would love to do this with my motorcycle or old Landy one day. I'm curious as to what dash camera you're using? Seems to be HD 1080p with great stabiization... Not a GoPro is it?
Awesome video - hope to do this route via motorbike. Any private gate / access restrictions and also any chance you have KML/GPX file...trying to work out the exact route to take over...J
Thanks Matt. Great video as always ! Question: is there any drinkable water enroute. I’m thinking of cycling the route.
Not in the mountains, no
Matt. Re: GAIA GPS. Is it at all possible that you can share this route/track? Then also, are you using the paid version? Specially for more mobile options/map layers. Please advise.
(Love your vids/content! Keep them rolling, please.)
I second this. Or maybe some key waypoints?
