Hello Anna , this attitude that Putin displays of not caring about the number of soldiers he loses echoes through history and demonstrates the main difference between a dictatorship and a democracy. In a democracy the leaders have to be sensitive to the number of casualties. In the war. The last Tsar's overthrow was caused by an unsuccessful war. As the lights went down a Narrator explained that an invader had destroyed the Ukraine theaters and so the company has taken to the road to perform. "We will not be stopped". There is a great Brad Pitt movie "Moneyball" based on the true event of making a winner out of a small city baseball team, it is not about baseball but a teammanager figuring out how to make his team competitive on limited funds. Others are responsible for meals. POWs in Russia have no leisure time or exercise nor are they allowed to be out in the daylight. Google " Photos of released Ukrainian prisoners of war show emaciated bodies in ‘horrifying’ condition" A CNN report dated June 5, 2024.
In American English, aggregate is small to medium grain stone: coarse sand and gravel. It is mixed with cement to make concrete. A layer of aggregate may be pressed into the concrete surface to make it decorative. When you say aggregate plant, I expect to see a gravel pit nearby.

As usual, I found this quite informative! Now, I know that Russian soldiers are trapped in Vovchansk... and as usual, the Russian government won't rescue them!
Also, I think you have a point about Russian soldiers having a choice! After all, they could have surrendered (indeed, the "I Want to Live" program encourages them to do so) or even joined a unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (for example, a Freedom of Russia Legion). In fact, your words reminded me of words spoken by Igor Girkin, of all people (yes; the one who led Russian invaders in 2014): last year, Girkin argued that since there isn't a declaration of war, they couldn't even claim that they were "just following orders", since "legally, he had no right to carry them out". Hence, using Girkin's logic (which is kind of ironic, since by his logic, he himself is a criminal), I'd say that not only do the Russian forces have the option to surrender, but that it's the _most_ legal option.
Until they do surrender, I will continue to support Ukraine.

It is crazy to think that the soviets withdrew from Afghanistan after having lost about 50.000 soldiers because they feared public unrest, but Putin can sacrifice 10 times as much without having to fear the people.
It seems like the soviets grossly underestimated the sheepishness of the Russian population.

An aggregate plant in the US is usually associated with the production of sand and gravel used in pavement, comcrete etc. If the plant produces parts for machines it could be referred to as a mechanical factory or manufacturing plant. I suppose it doesn't really matter.
