  • This is just a quick, simple video that I put together. I've always loved this little speech of Brackett's and I felt like making something with it! The song is by Olafur Arnalds and is from the TV show Broadchurch, which I also love. I highly recommend his music; it's so beautiful!
    I hope you all enjoy this video!

    It's hard to believe that the actors are now in their late 70's early 80's . I love watching this show Emergency! and even I have the box set. I have a crush on Randy Mantooth and hopefully someday to meet him. Love from Marysville California KMG 365, Squad 51 in quarters.

    Back when this as on, I was in nursing school. I spent my long career specializing in Trauma Critical Care. We couldn’t save everybody, but we tried to make the time they had as meaningful with their family. I worked for quite a while at the “Mecca” of trauma, R Adams Crowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. It was amazing, the birthplace of the Golden Hour in trauma

    Heard and tread that Randy and Kevin were close friends in real life as well and it shows through their acting. Dr. Brackett's speech was truly inspiring and bit the nail on the head in what he was advising Roy. Another great Brackett speech was in the second half of the pilot episode when he addressed the California legislature on the merits and necessity of the paramedic program. He said it would save lives - whose? maybe even your own, The end of the Greatest Scenes movie when Johnny and Roy try to say goodbye after becoming captains is truly touching and human. They know they wouldn't be working together again but know they will remain friends but don't know how to put their emotions into words. Finally Roy tells Johnny "Come on I'll walk you to your car". This scene shows that less was indeed more. They knew how they felt and so did we. A very fitting conclusion to a greats show. I don't understand though why in syndication they have that movie in the middle of the others in Season 7 instead of being the last as it should be.

    • @MsShoosh1
      @MsShoosh1 4 месяца назад

      Same as I can't figure why these last movies didn't include Engine 51. Every other station in the county, but not 51. Hey, they were just as important on making this series a success.

    • @muzluv33
      @muzluv33 4 месяца назад

      @@MsShoosh1 The last Emergency! movies were filmed on location in Seattle and San Francisco so there was no need to use Engine 51. The last movie where both are seen is the second called Survival on Charter 220 where a jet plane crashes into
      a neighborhood and a house where Gage and DeSoto are treating a patient. In the process the squad in destroyed by a falling engine from the doomed jet.

    I was planning on leaving a comment on every single one of your videos because they’re just that good, but I didn’t want to spam your notifications xD. Hopefully this one here will suffice what I want to say for each of them. These are amazing, honestly. Your editing style and how you put the clips together, along with the songs you pick, makes these absolutely incredible. It’s nice to see new additions to the Emergency! fanbase in video form, considering most of the video tributes are from at least 10 years ago now. Please [that is if you want to] keep making these, they’re awesome.

    I’m a Firefighter/EMT and this scene speaks volumes. Fallibility, something we as providers beat ourselves up over all the time. We don’t like to make errors, but we have to accept things happen and do the best we can for our patients.

    As A semi retired Firefighter(not a Paramedic) we cannot be second guessing ourselves.We train so that when the tones drop we do the job the best we can. Only after we are back in quarters can we dissect what happened.

    The one thing I don't like is Brackett calling Johnny an amateur. Uncalled for, but I get it was in the story line. But still, it was harsh.

    • @muzluv33
      @muzluv33 5 месяцев назад

      yes it was harsh but think of the context. In the beginning doctors were hesitant of the program not just because they initially thought firemen would not cut it in emergency medicine but because they were afraid their jobs would be in jeopardy. Dr. Brackett gradually has a change of heart and does push the program in the California legislature in a very stirring speech near the end of the pilot.
