Emergency was one of my favorite shows from my childhood.
Mine too asateen ager.
Mine also a great show Emergency
Mine too
And "Adam 12".
@@virginiaconnor8350 I like Jim Reed. He’s so handsome, and a father. I love the episode when he becomes a father.
This was the first tv show that portrayed doctors, nurses, as well as firefighters in a realistic manner.
and the only one since
Emergency inspired me to become a professional firefighter and medic .so I became one . I was a professional medic first in Montgomery Alabama and later became a certified professional firefighter.I know I saved many people from Life threatening injuries and protected much properly from fire damage.
One of the best shows on t.v. . I really love this one seven years didn't do justice . Fifteen years
This show was &still is great!
This was my favorite show as a kid
Same Here!!!!!
Thank you, Dixie. I became a nurse because of Emergency!
My paramedic career will soon reach 40 yrs.Thank you Emergency [Buffalo N.Y]
One of my favorite tv shows.
i love the show
This show is the reason I’m a nurse.
My late oldest sister was an R.N. and she explained many of the procedures and medications used to show patients being treated on this show. I would have been quite confused and misinformed without her knowledge. She worked in a couple of ER's in her early career. Thank you for being a nurse. They are responsible for so much of patient treatment, but are not fully appreciated for it.
This show, Adam-12 and a few others is the reason I got into public service. I'm a retired forester for the U.S. Forest Service.
Thank you !!!!
I loved this show!! I couldn't wait for it to come on..... I grew up watching it!!❤❤❤❤❤....
I actually own the box set of all episodes and movies. One of the best
Julie London was so beautiful. I had a major crush on her as a young boy. I would watch this show at my grandma's house. Great memories.
me too on grandmas floor in front of the tv, Emergency and Dukes of Hazzards was my jam and Electro woman and Dyno girl on Saturdays then the freaky sci fi movies came on they called them Saturday matinees on our channels, would love to find some of those horror sci fi movies they legit freaked me out as a kid haha
Great Show this one started all those Fire/Rescue shows Rest In Eternal Peace Cast & Crew!
Rampart, this is Gage & Desoto! I was a nurse, long ago, off on maternity leave with my 1st son, this program kept me sane! BTW he’s 49 now!
Emergency is the greatest program. That I seen as a teenager.
Emergency! TV show is Masterpiece ❤
My favorite Julie London song is Cry Me A River from the 1950s. She was an accomplished and multi-talented star.
My late father had that album. I also had the rare experience of seeing her actual dressing room at the Universal Studios tour in the 70's!
I loved watching this TV series Emergency....
I remember Emergency our family enjoyed the show..❤
My alarm on my phone is the fire house alarm from the show. I wake up to my childhood everyday!
Any movie star or TV star that died it's like losing a member of the family since we grew up watching them
Absolutely 💯
Still watch and love Emergency, got it on dvd so they live forever in my mind😢
So do I. I watch it everyday and still love it.
Now how could you possibly omit Sam Lanier? He played the dispatcher from 1972-77. He was born September 7, 1931, and died May 21, 1997, dropping dead of a heart attack while assisting at the scene of an accident outside his home.
Yes I know. Sorry I threw this together and I forgot about Jack Webb so I added him in and eventually make some more changes to it.
And dispatcher Sam Lanier was on dispatch every day, every shift…AMAZING!
Sam was the real dispatcher for L.A. county back then. And this show was the reason I was a volunteer firefighter and EMT for 12 years and I recently rejoined my local volunteer fire department.
They should have known that he should have been added
I miss Dixie. She was a great actress and nurse on Emergency 🚨. So was Bobby Troup. This show was so realistic. Also Captain Stanley. Aww Chet.😢 At least we got Randy Mantooth.
And Kevin Tighe, and Robert Fuller, and Ron Pinkard.
I couldn't watch this show b/c i was too young when it came out and then it was whatever my parents wanted to watch! I knew of it and maybe caught a clip or part of an episode but never watched it - just saw it on FETV months ago and was like "wow, what did I miss"! I am addicted and who doesn't love Roy and Johnny! Love all of them.....!
I remember This Show from my childhood 🔥🔥🔥🙏🙏🙏🚨🚨🚨🚨
I remember This Show from my childhood 🔥🔥🔥🙏🙏🙏🚨🚨🚨🚨
@@ChampagneAnne007 Two episodes from 12 noon Mon-Fri on Cozi TV.
❤best show on TV ever. Love 💘all the cast 😊😢❤
I loved Emergency when I was a child.
When we furst moved to Los Angeles we lived next to the hospital that they showed on the show
Nice tribute. Thank you.
Growing up I refused to go outside to do anything when Emergency! Was on, still record it now knowing every episode
I remember watching this show as a kid and one of my Christmas presents was the kits that had the fire hats walkies and the belts! 👍
I was in my mid teens when Emergency! came on. I had such a crush on Julie London.
Literally watching this on Cozi as l type this. I remember my friend and I playing them on our front porch swing, pretending we were off to another disaster, using garden hose and toolbox to save the day
Though using a hammer and screwdriver probably isn’t first choice for emergency care 😂
Great memories, RIP, that generation is almost lost, as our generation enters that age ….damm life blew by

Kindly dump the ‘literally’ fad. Thanks.
I miss them all, RIP and I will keep their friends and family in my prayers 🙏. Love from Marysville California KMG 365
Loved this show
YEP!! No show ever had the most smoke free structure fires, then Emergency!
HELL, even on the occasional vehicle fire, there wasn’t that much smoke on those, either.
In all the years I spent with three different fire-rescue outfits, I never found myself in one of those types of fires. I guess I had to be in California, or at least L.A. County,🤷♂️
I was lucky enough to meet Jim Page about 30 years ago. About a year later while on vacation in San Diego he invited me to his office in Carlsbad and spent several hours talking about Emergency. He told me a lot of behind the scenes stuff. It was quite interesting. Should have taken notes or recorded it!! Great guy. True hero!!!
WOW awesome!
Jim Page | John Gage
@@ameliadiaz8040 Yes, you are correct.😊
John gage was played by Randolph Mantooth
@@Nanchip1 yes you are correct, John Gage’s name was loosely based on Jim’s as a thank you for helping to create the show. Actually in an episode in the first season, in one of the scenes the actor playing one of the Chiefs had an issue with his turn out coat. Jim was there during filming and gave them his coat to use. You can see his name on the coat.
I loved that show. My mom was a LPN(License Practical Nurse). She'd translate the medical stuff into English, and explain what was going on.
The Los Angeles County Fire Museum put a wonderful photo tribute Tim Donnelly on what was his seat position on Engine 51 the Ward LaFrance just behind where Captain Stanley sat.
Thank u for this I totally love this show always❤❤❤
Watching Emergency! episode The Floor Brigade from Season 3 on FeTV as I write this, Beautiful tribute - such great actors we lost. Emergency! was one of my favorite shows growing up and still is. Have been watching the reruns on MeTv, COZI and FeTv for the last five years at least and rarely missed an episode. The show may now be dated but it put paramedics on the map and revolutionized emergency medicine - where would we be without them? Who would have thought back then! The ensemble acting was great. I doubt if another group of actors would have done as well. Met Randy Mantooth in a NYC coffee shop some years ago after Emergency! ended. We talked for a while about his career - eventually he had to leave but did not rush out or act like I was burdening him. He came across as a very down to earth guy. Wish I would have met the rest of the cast as well.
I remember years ago I can't remember what year it was but I was on the hospital due to a surgery I had and I remember wanting to watch this show and I was able to find it on the tv there and I watched it. So ever since then I've watched it every time it's been on and I think I've seen just about every episode maybe at least twice and it was a great show with a great cast.
It was a awesome show use to watch it
He's still in our hearts😊
We all get old. When it's time to go he calling us for purpose.
Julie London was the reason for the show. If it weren't for her, then, nobody would've been an nurse.
I watch it every night still❤
What a great action TV show. I use to live a block away from the main dispatch communication center that sat a top of a hill above City Terrace off of Eastern Ave. in East Los Angeles . Use to be very active during brush fires and other disasters. My brother use to work there and told me they did some filming there for Emergency. What a great TV show. I still watch it on TV out hear in Arizona. I watch it on COZI TV. What a bunch of great actors. Bless those that are now gone.🧑🚒🚒🚑✝
TV Land should have this in their lineup.
Feta does every night
Yesyes
Metv has it so does fetv
Oops autocorrect messed up my words....Correction....FETV
They still stream it today. I'm recording them all. They take me back in time to the early 70s when I was a little boy. I even had the Hot Wheels rescue truck when I was a kid. Wish I knew what ever happened to it.
I watch it everyday on COZI from 12-2
Some FYI for those that didn't know, Julie London and Bobby Troup were married and performed together, he on the piano and her singing. Bobby Troup was a accomplished Pianist.
Also Julie London and Jack Webb were ex husband and wife.
They both appeared on "Tattletales" game show back in the mid 1970's.
thank-you for this, Lenny's song beautiful choice.
Mike Novell died in Westminster Nursing home in Pennsylvania. My sister took care ofnh8m and I met him and saluted him since he was an Army Officer.
My dad and I saw Captain’s office at 127
Looked just the way it was in the show before they refurbished it.
It’s a nice Station..
I grew up watching this series and went on to become a paramedic firefighter,,,,,thanks guys..... And gals had a great career.
I knew Fuller,Troup& London had passed, but Tim Donnelly!!!!😢 I loved him,he was so funny.I watched it just to see him,Mantooth, and Tighe go at it!😂😂😂Had crushes on him,Mantooth, and the actor who played Marco(can't remember his name 😢). Captain was nice looking too 😉I was so mad when this show was cancelled! Only problem:the picture that brought me here, I don't see it.I would love to know who's who.Thank you for posting, great job
The actor who played Marco was also named Marco Lopez. Mike Stoker played himself as well.
I remember seeing Julie London for the first time in a movie that had a Mysterious and haunting story line and back ground, had Edward G. Robinson and Judith Anderson,Rory Calhoun made in 1947 called The Red House. Recommend seeing it.
I love this show I have the Dvd box set who is singing the song on here it's beautiful
Lenny Kravitz
Chicago Fire is just like this show
I. KNOW. WHERE S. SAM. LANIER. HE WAS PART. OF. EMERGENCY TOO. GREAT. MAN. GREAT. ACTOR. RIP. SAM IN HEAVEN. FLY HIGH. BUDDY. YOU RE SADLY. MISSED. BY EVERYONE. ❤❤😢😢😮😮
Jim Page was the individual in the L. A. County Fire Department that really pushed for their paramedic program. His peers thought he was nuts. The casting of the medics on Squad 51 originally wanted the names to be Page and DeSoto. Jim Page said,”Better not”. He feared for his job. The medic Jim Page became John Gage.
The strangest case of life imitating art: Being a 12 year old boy when Emergency first aired, I of course watched it almost religiously. (Hey, we only had three channels, remember?)
Fast forward to 2008; my wife and I are returning from vacation in Mexico, flying into LAX, when she starts to get REALLY ill on the plane. Severe abdominal pain, etc. It's bad enough that they call for a doctor among the passengers, and that doc says "Hospital, as soon as we land!" So the plane is met by an ambulance with paramedics from? You guessed it... Rampart 51!!! Of course, my wife is absolutely miserable, and I'm helpfully pointing out... "Honey! Do you know what AMBULANCE this is?!? It's Rampart 51! From the TV show!"
Fortunately she was too ill to find any sharp objects upon which to impale me. FWIW, they took great care of her, and we were able to get her out of the hospital after 24 hours dealing with some sort of bad norovirus stuff....
Gotta get some D5W sailing solution in me
Show was so wholesome. No slutty women. Plenty of decent men. What a concept.
I love the show and watch it everyday. Is this true? T heard Kevin Tighe has passed away last year is that true?
No, he is still alive and kicking as well as Randy!
I watched this show as a kid but the thing that bothered me is that the rescue work seemed to take second place behind alot of stupid plots with Gage or DeSoto, and I couldn't stand Chet's endless pranks. I would have liked the show to take the professions seriously and have the characters act professionally.
How many were really fire fighters?
I believe just Mike Stoker
In my opinion, Julie London was the Taylor Swift of her day.
llkKkK
Remember back then, my early teen years watching Emergency with my dad. He passed in 1980, listening to this I'm missing him again. Very much.
When we furst moved to Los Angeles we lived next to the hospital that they showed on the show
Loved this show
