My first alarm (originally intended) was supposed to be an Wheelock HSWC, but then I got an STRC. Later I got extremely interested in more vintage alarms (especially since I started HS a year ago) and got more interested in the alarms that were from my previous schools, such as the 4903 series, Edwards 892 series, and Wheelock MTs as well. So now I’m continuing to get more vintage devices like I should’ve done almost 4 years ago. Thanks for this video demonstrating what to do (and what not to do) when collecting. I really wanted to get a Simplex 4004R but I see it has limited features so now I hope to get the Simplex 4010 one day. Thanks for posting this!
If you are in New Zealand, it is very hard to collect fire alarm devices. In fact, I so far haven't bought any New Zealand devices simply because I cant find any. However just by talking to others like my school caretaker and the university I don't really care what types I get, I just get what I can get my hands on. I now have 3 manual call points (2 adressable and 1 conventional that is rare but I think is broken, used to be 4 but I gave one away), a minihorn, a bell, a sounder, a beacon (doesn't count as fire alarm but I use it in my system), 4 doctors (3 heat, 1 smoke, all conventional), 2 batteries, and a Pertronic F-4 conventional panel.
My First Devices: Residential Smoke Alarm: Kidde FireX 120-1182 (Acquired on December 10, 2016), this one was actually installed in my house but it was over 10 years old so it had to be replaced. Pull Station: EST 270A-SPO (Acquired on December 24, 2016), the screw is stripped on it now so I removed the spring for the lock. Alarm: System Sensor SCW (Acquired on February 2, 2017). Commercial Smoke Detector: System Sensor i3 4W-B (July 28, 2017). Panel: Notifier SFP-2402 (Notifier version of the Fire-Lite MS-2) (Acquired on December 25, 2018).
I bought s Spectralert Advance P2R as my first device. It had a mounting bracket but you can touch a 9V battery to the prongs on the back of it and it goes off in continuous.
My first fire alarm I ever had was a System Sensor Spectralert Advance P2RK, since it was the kind of alarms in my elementary school that sure gave me interest whenever we had fire drills, despite how loud they are, I still like them.
My first panel is a Gamewell zans panel. Someone just gifted it to me this Christmas. I even have all of its parts. But I don’t have the power supply or cabinet.
Where can I buy just a fire alarm that I can keep in a special place in my room just for display? Only asking because you got quite the collection there, Grant. And I don’t remember who he brought his from, but my roommate might or might not still have that same kind of fire alarm to this day in his room. So basically, where can I get a non-functional display fire alarm?
Just another thing; If you buy a more advanced panel like a 4006,4008 or 4010, make sure and ask the seller if all passwords have been acquired or the panel has been factory reset. Last thing you'd want is to get a panel you can't program / change!
My first fire alarm device was a simplex 4903. If I were to start all all over again I would get a Edwards EST integrity and a Edwards EST genesis device because those devices were in my school.
I would like to have a fire alarm control system for my single wide trailer that I live in it would be much better than a regular smoke alarm my own opinion

pertronic is real good
@@pilotboy Just don’t worry about what you get, simply grab what you can at first.
I love fire alarms
I’m a big fan of your videos
I would say that Wheelock and System Sensor are definitely the fire alarm brands that are good for beginners
I love watching your videos SER! Keep up the good work.
My first pull station was a conventional simplex dual action t-bar, the alarm i use is just standard buzzers
It feels like just yesterday I started my fire alarm collection in September 2021, I now have over 82 alarms and growing.
Same here man and now I am working in this field and also doing networking and cameras

LOL I remember 2-3 years ago I bought a Faraday station, and it didn’t come with da key. Had to buy the key somewhere else.
I have the first two but not a panel :(

I might need help finding a wiring diagram for a simplex 4100ES if you could help me. If you can that would be really helpful.
You won't get one. It's confidental. You could try posting it to r/firealarms but I doubt anyone would give it to you.

My first fire alarm was a P2WL-LF.

I'm getting my first panel soon, I'm getting a MS-4
My first fire alarm was the ceiling mount wheelock AS
Thanks For the extra fire alarm! (I always wanted an exceeder )
The hoodie is AWSOME

I got the Wheelock Exeter horn strobe the SAME THING AS YOURS
Can you connected with the fire department because I don’t want to connect it to the fire department
Thanks for this video! I have learned something a little new from this video, and I collect fire alarms too. Have a nice day S.E.R. Safety!

I own a lot of Simplex 4903s lmao
@alexpisocky4652 My first alarm was a genesis chime. Genesis's are very nice alarms.
I’m gonna pull the fire alarm
@@intercomfanJB same
My first alarm is a Gentex Commander 3
Do you have the m2-131 fire alarm?
Wow!

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great video!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
My favorite fire alarm the only one that is,... is simplex 2903 light plates!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😍😍😍😍😍😍
But, I like chime devices too!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤😍😍😍😍
MERRY CHRISTMAS
My first fire alarms were a fake spectralert classic and a fake bg12l
I'm gettinga Fire Light BG-12
Where can I get a panel under 100 dollars
I do not recommend MS-2s/4s for begginers due to the lack of quality, and the lack of nac protection. Any EMF feedback will fry the panel
Sup ser safety
im getting 3 smoke alarms soon
A simplex truealert non adressable/no smartsync cheap alarm would be a good first fire alarm for simplex lovers
such as a newer simplex conventional t-bar
Also make sure it isn’t the ones that actually call the fire department
Just can’t afford the price 😢
