This is like the salvage of the sunken battleships at Perl Harbor, without the air raid and deaths. This truck will be excellent when it's done, so much is re done or new, good on you Dr. Art.!

If the motor would have started and ran without a rebuild I think you would have made it to power tour. But when you have to take the amount of time and expense that it takes to build a motor and tranny it takes alot away from the rest of the project

My favorite reason for liking that generation of Dodge pickups, it's almost impossible to stab your head on the hood latch... heh

That & you can pull the engines out of these without removing the hood because the hood will open up to the rain channel on the roof .

My 72 C20 Cheyenne has been laid up for 8yrs...it has a list like Big Richard. Time is hard to come by to work on it...
I was my fathers cargiver till he passed..and now I am my mothers cargiver full time..and having a caregiver to house runs $30/hr. It blew the transmision up when I relocated...plus the things that rot and now need attention. I was able to go Power Tour in 19...I will make it again.
There is always next year. I look foward to watching your coverage of Power Tour and have enjoyed watching you and Tony saving this truck.

Dont worry about it thats been a lot of work around all the other things we dont see you have to do. But as a trade off we will want a good video of the power tour. You could place it in an old barn throw some stuff on it and do a will it start video lol just for drinks and giggles.

Thats to bad. I'm going for the first time ever, all the way from Phoenix, AZ, in my 1982 383ci/4 speed Chevy S-10, that I "finished" almost 15 years ago. It took almost 4 years to build, although I have been working on it ever since. I've replaced the engine once. It has no A/C. I'm roasting my ass off in this heat. I'm typing this from Jordans Kwik Stop in West Helena, AR. 90 degrees and humidity over 60%.

That thought crosses my mind every time that I have to do anything more than an oil change or tune-up on a vehicle.
The factory probably assembled the entire thing in less time than it took me to change the water pump! 😂🤣😅

I've enjoyed the project Dr Art. Resurrecting a good old American vehicle on a budget is a good learning series for those who haven't. You guy's did a great job getting all you got done in a short time frame. It always runs over the time we think it'll take on most older projects. The little things that add up are the biggest time consumer I've found. My 66 f100 took me 12 years bumper to bumper restore on my time off." I only wrenched on it when I was in the mood to tinker, so she sat quite a while. Your post says Richard's a 76? Looks older to me ..

Man do I know about the welding wire. Had to order it off of Amazon, as the only wire I could find locally was solid wire from Harbor Freight that requires a gas shielding. When what I needed, and wanted was flux core wire.

It's just a tight schedule and an unrealistic deadline not met . If you had a crate motor , crate trans to match w/ converter , tires mounted on the wheels ...and delivered to your door ? But no , you did it real world and missed a deadline that doesnt mean a thing . Big Richard will be done soon enough . Hopefully it helped grow your channel , as I'm sure rewriting ECU's will do . Just be sure to make some money on the deal !!
