The collaborations are always magical, the performances are always superbly passionate but for me the most wonderful aspect about a Duplessy composition is that it doesn't just invoke a feeling, I am transported into a whole emotional storyboard - in this one I hear the thunder of hooves echoing the pounding heartbeats, see the knuckles and knees gripping beyond endurance, the whites of the horses eyes.... Nina Simone said of one her songs that it was a show-tune for which the show hadn't been written yet - I feel that Matthias writes the scores for epic feats of cinematography that haven't been scripted yet - but I'll be the first in line for the ticket when it is!
