    Thanks Requiem, really interesting seeing a fight with the tacview and commentary.
    The reason for the high aspect shot was lack of visual. I had the call that wraith had one on his six and was coming my way so I turned to help but couldn't see them until it was too late. The snap shot was a vain hope to put the 109 off wraith. as you've noted, I shouldn't have turned hard after them as that bled the energy completely and put the other 109 on me. It was probably at that point that we were both in the worst position, both defensive.
    Thanks for the debrief, really enjoyed it.

      Good to know Ash, looking at this as an outside observer I'll never get the complete picture so thanks for giving the extra info. It was an interesting fight to watch!

    Thanks Req for putting that together! It was great seeing our fight debriefed! That's not our best fight, gunnery, or success but shows how we switched tactics mid fight while disadvantaged! Love these debriefs!

    Great Sunday morning viewing Req, thanks! Thanks Ace and Wraith as well for the entertainment. It's actually really engrossing seeing a combat situation commentated on, as outlandish as that IS for Mrs Rap to comprehend!!

    Great video! Just found this channel. I don't own the new IL-2 games, but I play 1946 a lot and so I think it will help my less than stellar performance in dogfights.

    This was a hell of a scrap! Can't believe everyone got away alive. The P-40 pilots did a pretty good job in this fight. Good to see them attacking each other's attacker and switching targets. Too many people get fixated on one or the other. Great debrief as always!

      Yeah it was great to watch. When I watched it the first time I was thinking....this is going on a while....then when I finished the video I was like "yikes...this is a long debrief" LOL I'm usually not a fan of long videos but the debriefs are a different style to my instructional stuff which I try and keep under 10 minutes.

    • @th3lunchb0x
      @th3lunchb0x 5 лет назад +1

      I think the video was great and your analysis was spot on. Even though it was a longer video the fight was good enough to not even care. I was just captivated by wondering how it all ended. Although watching VR playback can be a bit stomach turning.

    Nice to see something new, but the TacView showing the 109s blue and our players red was kinda confusing for me. Had to memorize it's red Russian and blue German. lol
    Not that, it's fine, great vid as always :D

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  5 лет назад +1

      Yeah it threw me for a loop too initially. As this was another player submitting it I forgot to change the colours in Tacview and I recorded the in-game stuff footage but because of my settings the in-game footage was actually reversed in colour and that's when I caught the difference. It was easier for me to re-record the in-game flying with the swapped icons instead of every single tacview shot so had to leave it in that different style. Some people like having red Allied and blue German, but personally I do prefer the red enemies / blue friendlies style.

    On fast airplanes its good to have bigger separation, to count on enemy thinking its only one not two hes fighting, in slower airplanes teamwork needs to be better as any wrong move is punished if separation is to big and you cant come fast enought to support.

      Lucky man to have VR :-P When I tried it with a Vive it was hard to know what something was further away, but a regular combat spread distance I can see it being easier for sure

    +RequiemBoS *The scenario this vid didn't play out in history:* 2 Luftwaffe/Bayerische Flugzeugwerke Bf 109G-4 vs. 2 Chinese Republican Air Army/Curtiss P-40C would have required German assistance for the Imperial Japanese Army, which was neither necessary in 1940-42 nor possible in 1943-45. The Bf 109G-4 and U. S. Army/Curtiss P-40E did tangle over North Africa, however. Most likely results this scenario would be one P-40C destroyed, all other combatants damaged (both Bf 109G-4's were leaking coolant and one P-40C engine oil at bugout).
