Alright I gotta ask y'all a question, how did you find this clip? I uploaded it almost a year ago just as a joke clip to showcase how bizarre animations back then could be, but I've noticed a lot of new comments rather frequently on here lately. Did you all get recommended it because of the Definitive Editions releasing? I'm genuinely curious
It's funny because... they changed it to this. Yeah, Claude had a different, way more realistic walk cycle in the original PS2 release. They made him look like an asshole for the PC version.
I've played the PS2 version a fair bit (I own it) and I recall his walk being like this in that version too, but I can double check when I get the chance, that'd be odd if they changed something so specific. The PC version did get a new model for Catalina that's higher quality and the Xbox Version got an ever more high quality model of her with a different outfit. Still that's the first time I've heard of his walk being different.
@@AutisticTorch huh so it is slightly different, although tbh it looks more like it's the speed that's different, could be because PS2 version is 30 FPS while PC can really be any frame rate you want, here though I have it capped to 60 FPS
Yeah iirc they didn't officially reveal his name as Claude until the 10th anniversary where they made a figure of him that called him Claude, before that the name was just speculation
It's only on PC when Rockstar ported the game they broke some animation because they cant/don't care about optimising control on PC Like there's three different - running jogging and walking animation only on PS2 but only one sprinting animation on PC
That was a hardware limitation at the time I guess, when rotating the camera rotated their bodies too. This changed in GTA SA. In the later updates these issues were fixed, but in the OG version it is still there I think.
