Funny......that you went to Vung Tau. I was just there in the beginning of March 2024 (spent, 3days and 2 nights). I stayed at a hotel about half way between Front Beach and Back Beach. LOL. Yeah....I'd recommend picking a beach. Either one. BUT, with that being said.....taking a taxi to either side was not that expensive. THEN.....finding "eats," was more of a challenge in that location (but, not impossible). Being a military history nut....I really liked "The Robert Taylor Museum of Worldwide Arms". And of course there was, "The Christ of Vung Tau" statue. WARNING. You'll be walking up some 800+ stairs to reach the base of the statue. In so much as the beach? Yeah.... Nha Trang (or Da Nang) has it beat by miles. IMHO.
we only spent 2 days in vung tau and only saw the coast. i really saw more of the town on your tours than i did while i was there. hopefully everything will reopen and we can come back in october next year
Always good to watch your videos, I like VT and was there 2018, went on the ferry from HMC but didn’t get to back beach as done lots of walking etc. visited Long Tan memorial which isn’t too far away, was meant to go again in 2020 but had to cut our holes short due to obvious, will visit again and thanks for eats tips, take care n safe travels.
Lot's of Aussie veterans live or did live in vung tau. The youngest would be in their early 70's by now. Nui Dat about 20mins away was the main Aussie base back then. The Battle of long tan on 18th August 1966 was a famous Aussie successful battle over 2 days.
@@MegaPixie666 thanks mate, yeah met a few of them and also it just happened that ex Aussie tunnel rats were having a meet up at same time and had a good chat with some of them, cheers
I lived around the corner from Belly's for 1 1/2 yrs...back around 2018. Spent a lot of time a long that stretch of road. Concur about Emily's. Yeah, I saw many older Aussies, fat as busses with young VN ladies. But they lived there permantly with them as wives, ...drinking beers.
Remember reading a book on America’s returning home after the war & spending years in Vietnamese jails , psychologically obviously they were very damaged , but physically they were in much better shape than before they were captured because of the diet of fish , vegetables & rice .. wondering F & B if your health & weight has improved because of the Asian diet.
Mark’s Place was nice I live in Northern California you can’t even get a bedroom for that price. Seems like a very peaceful quiet down. I wouldn’t mind living in a town like that.
Would love some videos in Vung Tau on the following, Marina Bay Sands Hotel, nhà hàng gành hào (unbelievable seafood and view. Get the bug with fried onion, incredible) walk to the top of the Jesus's Statue replica of Rio De Janeiro, visit the temples, and the front beach in the morning is quiet and beautiful.
great video! when you say "Sexpats" do you mean, Vung Tau is like a mini Pattaya? do Western men just go there for that? it seemed dead to me...didn't see anything that lent itself to sex tourism in your video or you just kept those stuff out of your content cuz of the RUclips rules?
Certainly not what he's describing, seems anyone over 50 living in Asia that's from the west is labelled a sex pat, I felt it living in Vietnam, yet I am in a stable relationship with a woman my own age, he did also mention that it's a lot cheaper living and more bang for the $ living there and that's why most are there, sure there's the weirdos but they are the minority, certainly not as he insinuates.
Probably people still not clear about certain data. GDP from whole tourism in VN was about 2-3% but in this amount 80% is domestic tourism which makes foreign tourism insignificant (about 0.5-0.7%). Places like Vung Tau or Da Lat were packed even more during last two years with borders remains closed.

He said it was Monday and quiet, the place is buzzing on the weekends.

Vungtau can be called Cape St. Jack in English.
Is there a bar or nightlife area?
Yes the areas I showed and over by back beach
